The next couple weeks were enough to make anyone growl and rip out their hair and kill somebody. Wherever Trevor went...there was Dave. And it wasn't fair.. For a whole month it was like that, until Dave showed up at Trevor's doorstep again. Trevor sighed and opened his door, letting the man inside.
Dave looked around, "Saw a different car in your drive." It wasn't Trevor or Maddy's car... It was someone else. He couldn't stop the flare of jealousy that popped up.
Trevor smirked and motioned to the kitchen. There, in the kitchen, was the key to Trevor's salvation. A new man. Said new guy looked up and smiled, "Oh, hi...I didn't think Trev was having guests today..I'll throw another steak on the grill."
Trevor shook his head, "No...no...He's not staying baby..." He sighed and looked at Dave....
Dave glared daggers at Trevor, "You're cheating on me?!"
Trevor frowned, then squeaked, "What?! No! We...." He motioned to the both of them, "Are not together anymore you fucking ass nozzle..."
"What do you mean we're not together? I...I took a posting in Goose Creek for you...I...I live just down the road..Baby, I want you back, Please...please...Don't...Don't do this."
Trever groaned, then sighed, "You..have got to be the most...just...wow. Get the hell outta my house..or I'll have Craig back there haul yer ass in."
"You're dating a cop?"
"Best protection from crazy ex stalkers in the world...Now..just go, alright? Please? You stink of booze and..cheap perfume...which leads me to believe you're not really here to get me back. You just miss me being around because your credit score is in the shitter, you don't know how to pay your bills, and...and...they're probably gonna repo your car."
"Well..yeah. You were always good with the books..and other things. Trevor, please...I love you...I want you home with me...Where you belong."
Trevor frowned at the way the man said 'belong' and he didn't like it. Not..one..bit.
Craig had moved up to them, drying his hands, "There a problem here, babe?"
Trevor shook his head, "No. David was just leaving...and if he knows better...he'll leave me alone. Listen to me now, Davey...and listen good. We are over. There is nothing left of what was once an us. Nothing. You saw to that when I caught you fucking that uniform bunnie in Hawaii. Now, if you don't mind, I would really like to get on with my life. Without you in it."
Craig rubbed Trevor's shoulders as they watched Dave's response. The man was...disturbed on a level that even Trevor couldn't begin to fathom...But like they say..Crazy makes you Crazy.
Dave just..glared at them, then pointed at Trevor, "This is not over." He turned and left, swearing as he headed out to his car.

Time for a little back-story, kittens.
It was in July of 2000 that Trevor and David started seeing each other. After a year and a half at our Navy's Nuclear Power Training Command, they both got stationed out in Washington and decided to buy a home between they're bases. David was stationed at Bangor Sub base near Silverdale and Trevor wound up on a Nuclear carrier out of Bremerton. It worked..well for the first tour, but after Trevor's enlistment was to be up, David decided that he wanted Trevor to stay at home, keep the house warm, so to say.
And, like a bumbling moron, Trevor went along with it. Being with someone in the Trident fleet was alright. They're deployments were rather regular and predictable..and they were happy for awhile..
See, David was from a good home in the suburbs of Dallas. You know..mommy, daddy, two sisters, white picket fence (Not even joking. He was from a 'normal' family.) Trevor was from a broken home in Michigan. His mother was a raging alcoholic, who seemed to like finding and hooking up with the King Loser in every town they moved to, and his grandmother enabled his mother... His sister had split years ago, living in Alabama with her husband. But despite all the shit, Trevor and his sister Melissa turned out alright.
David on the other hand... Apparently when you're brought up in that kind of environment, you get a lil bit tweaked. David had been incredibly sheltered until he got to high school, when he started hanging out with the likes of his friend Stonewall and Brett....and Aaron. Druggies, the lot of them. Not that there's anything really wrong with Pot, but it was the hard stuff that they were into. David quit before joining the Navy...and seemed to do rather well. But one addiction gave way to another. First it was pot, then cigarettes...a habit he kept... then porn. God, there must have been a period of about two years that David wouldn't even look at Trevor, just sit at the computer and jerk off. Trevor stayed though. He toughed it out like a good little house boy.
Six years into their relationship, Trevor had brought up the idea of adopting, since Washington law let gays do that. Dave had shot him down, saying that he'd rather have on of his own, using a surrogate or something. So, Trevor started saving money. Money was never a real issue for them. Not until after the whole baby business that was quickly tossed to the back burner.
And it was about six years in that Trevor had started to notice that things were getting weird.
See, Trevor had a job working at Microsoft and sometimes that job meant he had to stay with his father and step mother in Lynnwood on the other side of Puget Sound for a couple days. And it was on one such trip to the other side that money problems started.
In December of 2006, Trevor had saved up enough to go visit his family in Michigan, because that's where they lived for some..reason. But Dave had already gotten tickets, for himself, to fly to Dallas for Christmas... Leaving Trevor at home with no money left to go back home for Christmas. It wasn't all bad though, Trevor spent the holiday's with his father and his family.
But when Dave got back from Texas, Trevor made sure the man knew exactly what he'd done wrong. But Dave made the excuse of never being able to see his family because they lived so far away. Which was just a load of total bullshit. They'd gone down to Texas for just about every major holiday the last six years... As it turned out, Dave had other motives for going down there... his High School Girlfriend, Heidi..who was now a model, working in Los Angeles.
That was just the tip of the iceberg girl-wise for David. After his first attempt to get out of the relationship failed... That had been a fiasco. He'd been fully intent on leaving toward the end of December of '06, but didn't..because Trevor got really sick... He'd almost died and David had found again how much he loved the man.
For a year after that, things were alright.
Until January of 2008. Trevor and David had been doing alright. Their relationship issues were just about solved...That's when the Navy decided to send David away for a year... Trevor was...hesitant about this. Sure, they had phones and could talk everyday, but after the incident with Heidi, Trevor didn't fully trust his lover. But, like a good navy 'wife', Trevor let his man go reluctantly... and kept the fires at home burning until his man would return.
And that's when Drinking came into play. Every night, David would call Trevor drunk off his ass...and gushing about..stuff. Trevor would listen, but could rarely get a word in edge wise.
When David came home, it wasn't much different. David would boot up his X box, jerk off, drink and smoke up the house.
Now, Trevor didn't mind having the occasional drink..and he smoked himself, but this was getting out of hand. An David would take thousands of dollars out of their checking accounts to go off to the local casinos or bars.
Yet, Trevor stayed, even though all those bells and whistles in his brain told him to pack his shit and get the hell out.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Fast-forward two years.
Trevor stood in his doorway, watching that familiar Nissan Sentra pull out of the drive and head down the road. God damn it. He had to find away to get rid of the man. He could out him to the Navy, but they'd just lifted the ban on gays in the military. That wouldn't work... Maybe Craig could come up with something...
And sure enough, as if reading his thoughts, Craig sighed and wrapped his arms around Trevor as the man shut the door. He kissed his boyfriend's neck, "I'll talk to the Captain tomorrow about getting a restraining order for you..if you feel up to pressing charges for Harassment."
Trevor sighed and leaned against Craig, closing his eyes. He smiled, "Might be a good idea. But you might wanna go check your steak babe...I think it's burning."
Craig pulled away and ran out to the back door, "Shit...forgot about that!"
Trevor chuckled and went into the kitchen to get himself something to drink... Craig was a good man. And Trevor's father approved of the new beau. Which was weird, because normally, Trevor's dad didn't really..acknowledge the fact that his eldest son was gay. He usually just ignored it. But the man had welcomed Craig with open arms, hearing that he was a cop.
They met a few months back through Maddy, actually, and Maddy had excellent taste. So, he was on board for the blind date they'd been set up on. They'd gone to dinner and had been together ever since. It wasn't until last week that Trevor asked Craig to move in. Craig accepted gladly and was still moving his stuff over. He'd decided to take it slow, to get used to the idea of living with someone again.
And they bickered every now and again...mostly just to have angry make up sex. Trevor smiled, remembering the night before. Craig was such a generous lover. David had been too, but toward the end there, not so much. He was only in it for himself, often leaving Trevor high n' dry.
Sighing, Trevor went to the living room and sat down, turning on the TV to Sports Center. He wanted to see how his Wings were doing. God bless the Red Wings. He loved that hockey team. That was about the only thing that he and Craig didn't agree on. Craig was a Black Hawks fan. As far as football was concerned, they were both avid Seahawks fans.
Craig came in after a few minutes with a plate and grinned at his boyfriend, "Food's done, babe...wanna eat in the dining room or the living room?"
Trevor glanced back at Craig, "In here..." He pulled the coffee table closer to the couch and shut the TV off, then got up, "I'll grab the wine...or did you want a beer?"
"Wine's good. Oh, snap..that reminds me. Maddy called. She wanted to know if we could make her birthday party out at Isle of Palms?"
Trevor frowned, "Hmm..This weekend, right? I can make it. Aren't you gonna be on duty though?"
Craig shook his head, "Nah, I managed to switch with a buddy. So I'm good. Then..I thought we could get a room at the hotel there..n'...do a lil celebratin' of our own?"
Grinning, Trevor moved up to the man he was sure he was falling in love with, then kissed him briefly, "Sounds good to me babe."
