Disclaimer:
this is a work of fiction or poetry; that any resemblance of characters to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental, These poems are fictional, Some of these poems were written with the help of my friends Apollo,
Destruction of Humanity
This poem was written after several events which in my opinion are just examples of what the end of the world will truly be caused by. Yes my ideas are radical, but look at what is plastered across the news these days. War, Death, Violence, Disease, Terrorist attacks, all preventable things. The Apocalypse will not be caused by the sun exploding, aliens invading, no. It will be caused by Humans losing themselves to material possessions, and greed. The main prompt for this poem was my mentioning to my Grandmother how I have friends in several different countries, of all different religions, and mentioning that despite all the TV attacks on Muslims, not all of them are terrorists, even though the media focuses on those who are...she disagreed, and I shut up, because arguing with an 80-something year old woman over politics and religion is not a smart move....
So now, I present my vision of what this pathetic world is now coming to.
Destruction of Humanity
So now, I present my vision of what this pathetic world is now coming to.
Destruction of Humanity
Break the silence with your silver lies,
I’ll sever all our binding ties.
Take me down, lead me away,
Destroy me now, don’t let me stay.
I bid you here, to help undo,
That which took me from the place I knew.
Flawless glamour and spells gone awry,
Cause my humanity to die.
Demons rattle the cages within,
Heaven falls to death and sin.
I dare not speak, or weep, or sigh,
This all stemmed from a single lie.
We dare play God, steal another’s breath,
Judge everyone, and cause their death.
We kill for fun and not for food,
We dare to think that we are good.
We become those who we all fear,
Whenever one of our kind draws near.
I then fight you as you fight me,
Together we can never be.
