The First Hunt

New Author Note: I had surgery and that's why I haven't updated, but as soon as I can sit in front of my monitor long enough I'm going to continue the story!
Author's Note: Coffee, check. Computer, check. Irrational love of zombies, double check. I do believe I'm ready to start the next chapter! But let me warn you, this chapter is where Sammy goes hunting, there will be gore, blood, and feasting! If you're not into that kind of thing just skip those parts, and if you are into that kind of thing, you're my kind of girl/guy! ;]

To my Beloved Readers ♥·♥·♥

usmorgan:
I'm happy it made you laugh! I wasn't sure if my jokes were funny or if I just thought they were funny! :] Yes, I have always thought of zombies as pack creatures, beings that still craved being close to others even though they were dead. I mean it is only logical, When alive we want to be near other humans, crave their comfort and love(Most of us do anyway), so why not when we're dead? Sometimes though I feel like someone is telling me what to write, it just comes to me when I'm typing and I keep it because it just belongs.

Shyann: I have my first official #1 fan! This deserves a party! (Throws confetti)

I Want It by Zombie Girl

Excitement was in the air, very soon they could finally dull their cravings, their lust for blood, that gnawing hunger that never seemed to go away. Yes, They all felt the blood lust in the air and they relished in it. Everyone was in a good mood, couples celebrated together in their own way, one couple was even dancing.

“I'm so excited, my first hunt.”

“Sammy, you are something else, I don't think I have ever met someone who radiates emotions like you.” James was holding her hand, their stiff fingers curled together.

“Yes, tonight is the night, but. . . I never understood why we only hunt humans. Why do we crave them?”

“It's for our own protection really. If we didn't hunt humans they would continue to populate and eventually destroy us all. That and if we didn't attack humans then there really wouldn't be any new zombies.”

“True, it's a shame our bodies cannot reproduce, I always wanted children.”

“Sammy, we can have children silly, are you not the child of Tyler?”

“I never thought of it that way.” they laughed together, talked for what seemed forever, and they were happy.

When nighttime hit all the males who were able to hunt and some of the women got ready. This was it, the tension was thick in the summer air. Their ghastly grins would of seemed evil to any human that witnessed this group.

And they set out, shambling horrors that they were, they didn't need to run just yet. They came upon the town right outside of their forest dwellings, the night was clear and quiet. They had not hunted in a few days so the humans should of let their guard down just a bit. There were humans, they could smell them, their running blood.

Stupid humans, they were all hiding out in one building, a old run-down looking warehouse. They probably thought they were safe. The hunting horde of zombies surrounded the building quietly, looking for any way to get in as they licked their lips and salivated. There it was, a window they had boarded up, it would be easy to get into. People always underestimated the undead, thought they were weak and slow. The undead could move, but they couldn't physically feel pain which allowed them to run limitless or until they ran their own feet off.

Communicating in silent growls they congregated near the window, they would have to be quick and silent. They began pushing and pounding, and one board fell off, unfortunately the humans were now aware of their presence and began shooting their guns and swinging blunt objects. All this did was help the zombies get in though since the stupid breathers were hitting the boards, weakening them. It was like a furious anthill that was stepped on, the zombies stormed in ravenous and hungry, attacking humans, biting their heads, arms, legs, anything. Devouring the sweet warm flesh, drinking the delicious blood.

The whole room was a mess of bloody limbs and feasting, every now and then you could see a dead human nobody would touch, for some reason they could tell who was a meal and who was to become one of their own. Sammy herself was near James and they both had tackled the only human with a gun, gnawing, licking, biting him. Sammy had been shot in the stomach and blood was pouring from the hole, except it wasn't her blood but her meals.

When they were done feasting they dragged the leftovers home, along with their new family members, who were as helpless and any newborns, not yet used to their own bodies. Even though James was now missing his nose and an ear Sammy thought he was just as handsome as ever, covered in mud and blood.

Without warning Sammy was tackled to the ground, nobody else in their group seemed to notice, or they just didn't care. Opening her eyes she smiled and whispered, “James.”
