SORRY! Crashed computer made me fix it and start all over again. Going to upload as soon as I can, have some chapters done, only going to fix the last.
This one will answer questions about dog/wolf thing. PROMISE!


Chapter 5

When Las woke up he was alone in bed. He felt sad because Penullus had left, but he also knew that as a alpha he had…things… to do. Right? It wasn’t like he didn’t want to be around. Right? He signed and then sat up. He saw a black robe lying next to the bed so he quickly snatched it and dressed. It looked exactly like the one he had worn when he got here. It was simple, comfortable and looked really goddamn nice! He looked at the robe and smiled. Pen must have gotten it for him.
He thought back to yesterday and how insane he must have seemed. He chuckled a little to himself while he fixed his hair and went outside in the sun to found someone to talk to. If anyone dared to talk to him again…

Penullus was in a meeting yet again. A boring meeting at that. He thought about Las and wondered if he liked the robe he had gotten him. Well, it was Em that had made it and given it to Penullus as a apology gift. Sabel had made her realized that it hadn’t been a funny joke. He hadn’t told her about Las breakdown and he wouldn’t bring it up with anyone except Las.

Las walked through the village and soon found Em.

“Well hello there Em. Anything on your schedule today?”

She jumped up and swirled around to face Las.

“LAS!” She hugged him tightly and it wasn’t until Las was close to fainting that she released him.

“Las, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that. I just thought that…”

“It’s okay Em, just that some bad memories from when I was young came back. Not your fault. Now, did you have anything to do today?”

“Oh… Ah well, I’m suppose to help some of the females to wash but I can switch with one of the teachers and then you can help me.”

“What can I help you with as a teacher?”

“Oh, come on. They are training in shape-shifting. That’s something you should be able to do, right?”

Las signed and nodded and Em quickly ran off to switch.

Shape-shifting huh? THAT He could do. He was a 15 year old dog so… The thing about shape-shifting was that you had to learn it. It wasn’t something that came with your instincts. He quickly looked around and went inside Ems’ hut to test his shifting. He didn’t want to fail in front of the children. He quickly undressed and looked around to make sure that Sabel or Em wasn’t around. He concentrated hard on changing and suddenly he could feel himself shrinking and his face getting longer. He opened his eyes and there he was. It wasn’t any magic around it, or a lot of light and shining stars. You just…changed. All packs belonged to an animal. Or well, you didn’t “belong.” The dogs were ancestors to real dog demons. All animals on earth had demons that were modern ancestors and they could change between animal and a more human side. When you were human you looked exactly like one, except you were faster, stronger and more resilient. You could turn to your animal, as it was called, whenever you wanted. The hardest part was to do it the first times. You didn’t have it in you; you had to learn how to do it. Everyone couldn’t do it, but you weren’t bullied or cast out from the pack. The change was just a plus. Nothing more and nothing less. He looked up and happily yelped when he saw Em walk in.

“Las…?”

He nodded his head, leaned back on his hind legs and yelped again.

“Oh my god! You’re such a cutie! Who’s a good boy? Who’s good? Yes you are, yes you are!!” Las leaned into her touch when she began to scratch his ears and pet him.

“My God Em, sounds like you’re talking to a…dog.”

Las looked up and barked before he jumped at Sabel. He gave a surprised yell while he fell backwards with Las on top of him.

“Oi, you mutt! Get off me.”

Las only yelped and started to rub his head under Sabels’ chin and licked his cheek. Sabel could only sign and smile before he started to pet Las to.

“Oh, it’s not only me that like the dog is it Sabel?”

Sabel quickly got up, ignoring Las falling of his chest. He looked down at the dog and signed again.
Las looked exactly like a Siberian husky. He surprised them with being almost all white, but on his back and on his face he had some golden spots. He still had his golden eyes and they held the same intelligence. He was really beautiful. Sabel knew that when alpha Penullus saw that he would be really glad. And very, very horny. He smirked and petted Las head again.

“You could pass as a wolf cub. If you’ve been a little bigger you would pass as young one.”

Las huffed and went over to his robe. He looked at them and they both laughed and turned around. He quickly changed back and put his robe on and told them that he was done.

Em turned around and held up her hand. “One question?”

Las nodded and fixed his belt.

“Why white?”

Las smiled sadly and finished with his robe.

“I got it from my dad. He was a big white dog when he changed.”

“Was?”

“He’s dead. My mother too.”

“Oh, I’m sorry Las.”

“Don’t be. I never knew them, they died early.”

Sabel and Em looked at each other and quickly tried to found something to talk about.

“Oh my, Las we have to go now! Sabel, you have to fix dinner tonight. Okay?”

Without waiting for an answer she grabbed Las and ran outside.

“Do you always do that?”

“Do what Las?”

“Order your mates?”

“Well yeah, didn’t they in your old pack?”

“No, dominant, always right. Submissive, sit down and shut up. Something like that.”

“That’s terrible! Luckily you came here and get to hit an alpha.” She blinked at him and Las blushed a little. Soon they found their way to a small meadow just outside the village. 16 pups, that were about 7 years old, were sitting in a ring and were listening to a young female talking. When she saw them she said something and they all turned to look at them. Some he recognized from the river, but most of them were new faces.

“Who is that Em?”

“Is he a wolf?“

“Stupid, can’t you smell it? He’s a dog.”

“STUPID! He’s Las. The alpha’s mate!”

“Yeah, and he’s really fast!”

“Faster than Aia!”

“No way! No one’s faster than Aia!”

Las just looked at the pups talking to each other, going on and on and on…

“Pups, quiet.”

They quickly hushed at each other and sat down.

The young female smiled at him and Las smiled and gave a nod. “Las will be the one to show you how to change.”

“COOL!” They all shouted and Las jumped a little in surprise.

“Hush now. First, why don’t you show us how you do it Las?”

Las nodded and closed his eyes. He concentrated and felt himself change. He opened his eyes and looked up at the kids. They were all sitting there, staring at him. He looked up at Em and the female. They smiled at him and nodded. He crooked his head to the side and wagged his tail. Still no reaction. He barked. Bad thing to do. It woke the children up and the all rushed towards him. They started to pet him and scratched him behind his ears. He gave a happy yelp and jumped away and soon he had 16 pups running after him. Em changed to her animal too, but she became a black wolf with green eyes. The female just stood and watched, but she did have a big smile on her face. After a couple of minutes they changed back, careful to have the children turn around. He didn’t want them to get embarrassed even if some had bathed naked in the river.
He started to explain some history about the change and then the feelings around it. He tried to tell what he thought about when he changed and that some of them would be able to change and some wouldn’t. If they could they weren’t any better than any other, they just got lucky.

Soon they were trying to change all of them. Las walked around giving some advice together with Em and the female Doll. A little shy but she seemed to love children and they seemed to love her.

Suddenly he saw Em tense and he looked in her direction. Another female was walking towards her. She had blue, chilly eyes and brown short hair. She was pretty muscular for being a female and really not that pretty either…

“What the hell is that dog doing with the pups?!” She was holding Doll by her arm and the poor female winced from the pain. Las quickly walked up to them and separated them, but the other female didn’t seem to like that he touched her because she started o yell.

“DON’T TOUCH ME YOUR FREAK!”

“Rika!”

“Shut up Em! He’s just some lowly dog that’s get to play alphas toy because he seems to have a tight ass and-”

“Rika, that’s enough!” Ems face was red in her fury, but Rika only sneered at her.

“At least I’m pretty, can’t say the same about you though…” Las drawled.

“What did you say?!”

“Oh, not just ugly? Deaf too?”

“You disgusting wanna-be-female!”

“Ugly wrestler.”

“Stupid pretty-face.”

“Wanna-be-all-manly-to-please-the-alpha-but-not-successful.”

“Letting-alpha-pound-you-to-skip-war.”

“Eh, guys…? Don’t you-”

“No, shut up Em!”

Em could only sign before she turned to the shocked pups.

“Not-wanted-by-alpha-ugly-wolf!”

“Stupid-whore-dog-that-can’t-fight-like-a-man!”

….

After a couple of heated minutes with the two demons shouting at each other Las declared himself the winner when Rika made a typical GAH sound, sneered at him and then turned and started to walk towards the village again.

“You should be a little careful around her. Roa, her brother, has a famous temper…” Em had walked up to him while Las was busy watching Rika walk away.

“Oh yeah? I won fair and square so she can stick a tree up her sorry-”

“LAS, Pups!”

Las looked at Em first and then slowly turned around, looking at the pups staring at him. Then…

“That as so cool Las!”

“Yeah yeah, you totally beat her ass!”

“Slip! Don’t use such words!”

“What? She’s a real bitch, that’s what alpha Penullus says.”

“Tallan!”

“Las, if you and alpha Penullus don’t mate, would you like to mate with me?”

“No, no! I want to mate with Las!”

“Can’t you get her back and kick her ass again?”

Las felt a sweat drop slowly roll down his cheek while watching all the pups arguing and the few that was jumping around him yelling about mating and Rika. He smiled a little and turned into a dog again before he ran off, pups running after him.
