Bloody Sweets
Chapter Four
Note: A little shorter than my usual short chapters, but to be honest I've been working on other stories because I had writer's block with this one. But since a reader of my story has requested for me to update this one I've forced my brain to work. Thank you to all of you who have reviewed and rated my story, I appreciate the feedback, especially positive feedback that always makes me want to continue my stories :D I hope you enjoy this chapter, I didn't really know what to write and just went with it. Sorry it's been so long and this chapter's so short but I don't really have time at this exact moment to be writing, so I had to keep it quick.
Chapter Four:
Richie watched from the sofa, as Lithium danced around to the music blaring in his ears. He smiled when his best friend and lover made his way over and straddled his lap, rotating his hips as he held Richie’s shoulders and smirked down at him with a glint of lust in his big brown eyes.
“How come you’re so happy? I mean, more so than usual” Richie asked as he held onto Lithium’s hips, who pulled the headphones off his head and chucked them onto the armchair next to them, sighing and tipping backwards as he spread his arms. “I met a wonderful man last night, an Old Vampire! He had me all night, I barely had time to make it back here before dawn”.
For some reason this information saddened Richie, even though he was used to sharing Lithium with his other coven members…but that was different, they were all friends and loved each other, this was some stranger that they knew nothing about. He plastered on a smile and pulled Lithium closer so he could nuzzle his soft neck, pulling away soon after to say, “Yes, I can smell him on you”.
“My lovely Richie isn’t jealous is he?? You’ve never complained about me going at it with other people before, whether Vampire or Human” Lithium giggled, sliding off Richie’s lap and flopping down onto the armchair, crossing his legs and putting his headphones back on, scrolling through the music on his ipod.
Richie got up and walked out, a little annoyed at the truth and sting of Lithium’s words. He acted like they had no history together, like he meant nothing to him at all. Didn’t his hurt feelings bother Lithium in any way? He hoped that the little Vampire would apologize and assure him that he was his first and always, but somehow he knew that was never going to happen. After all, Lithium had never been one to take much notice of how other people were affected by his actions.

It was time, Stefan had collected his belongings, slipped into a coat that he didn’t really need and made his way through the streets. It would have been quicker to catch a bus into the heart of Birmingham, but he had left early and had plenty of time to walk. He couldn’t stand the waiting, the fear of Drake coming for him instead of meeting him like he’d originally wanted. Jax had insisted he stay longer, had held onto his hand and seemed unwillingly to ever let go his grip had been so tight, but in the end Stefan had managed to pull away and leave without a backwards glance. He could feel Jax’s eyes on his back, following his fading form down the street until he rounded a corner and was out of sight. Stefan had bit his lip and taken out a handkerchief to hold to his eyes as tears suddenly spilled forth and though no one was around at the time he hadn’t wanted to make sure no wandering mortal caught sight of his red tears.
Now he stood leaning on the rail overlooking the canal, watching the moonlight sparkle on the still, dark water. The very few barges were rocking ever so gently as they rested along the sides, and the street behind Stefan buzzed with people setting out for a good drunken night. Restaurants, bars and café’s lined each side of the long street, and a large cinema was near the end, with a queue almost coming out of the glass doors.
Chills ran down his spine when he felt someone stop beside him, felt that powerful presence and then heard that deep, seductive voice. “So nice to see you again, Stefan” he turned his head to the right, looking up at his maker, who bowed his head and smiled almost smugly at the way Stefan’s gaze lingered on him. “Good evening” was all Stefan could manage to say, hands gripping the rail almost to the point of bending the metal. Drake pulled them away and held them, forcing his fledgling to turn and face him. “I missed you, come, let’s go sit a café somewhere”.
The suggestion caught Stefan off guard, he had thought Drake would want to drag him to wherever he was currently staying and fuck his brains out like usual. It made him suspicious but he let Drake keep hold of his hand and pull him through Brindley Place, the richer part of the city centre next to the canal, that had the expensive shops and restaurants. They found a little, very clean looking café near a gym and sat down at a spare table. Drake ordered them some coffee and then they sat in silence, staring at one another, barely blinking. When their coffee was placed in front of them, Stefan snapped his gaze away and looked over at the fountain, watching the water splash, finding the sound quite soothing. “Why are we drinking coffee?” he then asked, unable to keep his curiosity at bay any longer.
“Use your senses, what do they tell you?” Drake suggested, lifting the cup and inhaling the scent before sipping the scolding liquid with a satisfied sigh. Stefan wrinkled his nose as he got a whiff of melted cheese from somewhere nearby and then closed his eyes, letting himself be on the alert. He immediately sensed another Vampire, not too far away, and he opened his eyes to look around the square, eventually finding Jax in the midst of a crowd of mortals on their way to see a show. He wanted to run to him, but wasn’t stupid enough to do it. “You brought me here so he won’t follow us to your lair?” he turned back to Drake, who was always watching the other Vampire, looking part amused and part angry. It was a dangerous combination that made Stefan tremble ever so slightly. When Drake shrugged and replied, “That’s one reason I suppose”, it became more clear to Stefan what his intentions were. “You are trying to make him suffer, make him jealous” this time it wasn’t a question, it was an accusation.
The slight smile that was on Drake’s face turned into a full grin and he nodded, sipping his coffee again and reaching his hand under the table to run his hand up Stefan’s leg. The younger Vampire scowled briefly and then decided not to turn it into an argument or show feelings for his friend. It would only cause trouble that would lead to disaster. “You find it more fun to annoy him than to give me a proper welcome?” he asked, pouting a little and looking up from beneath his long lashes, a trick he knew would have his maker melting. Drake slipped his hand over Stefan’s crotch and leaned close to kiss the corner of his eye, “I am sorry my love, come, let’s go home”. They stood up and walked away, hand in hand, leaving two cups of coffee, one untouched and still steaming. Stefan smiled up at Drake and then, when his maker turned his face away, he glanced over his shoulder as Jax in the distance and mouthed the words, “Don’t follow”. With a sad smile, Jax nodded and turned on the spot to head home in the opposite direction.

“What? He’s going with that bastard? We can’t let him do that!” Lithium’s big brown eyes were filling with tears, and in his anger he crushed the Ipod clutched in his fist. When he heard it break, he opened his hand and looked blankly down at the small parts, wondering why they had broken, what had been in his hand? When he remembered he chucked the pieces at Jax and sat on the floor in a huff. “Great, Stefan’s been taken away and I broke my Ipod…how can things get any worse?” he mumbled, scowling at the floor. Jax sighed and brushed pieces of the Ipod off his chest, glancing at Richie, who would usually be comforting Lithium by now.
Richie noticed his glance, but just shook his head, staying seated next to Trinity who was putting red polish on her nails. “He said he’d come back though right? What are you so upset about?” she asked, looking over at Lithium, who frowned at her. “I love Stefan, and it pisses me off that someone can take him away so easily! He’s part of our coven, no one else’s, he should be here with us, not with some psycho Vampire”.
“There is nothing we can do to get him back Lithium, just forget it. We will see him again one day and things will be back to normal” Jax replied, and walked off upstairs to his room. He sat on the edge of the bed, stroking a hand over the sheets, thinking about the countless times he had made love to Stefan beneath them, tangled in them, staining them with little drops of blood as their passion drove them to the bite.
With all his heart he wanted Stefan back, he wanted to go after them, but Stefan had looked so calm, so sure as he had turned to tell him not to follow. His maker wouldn’t hurt him, so why was he so worried? He just hoped he was right and that Stefan would be safe with him, even if it meant being locked away.
Lithium watched Jax disappear and then followed a few minutes later, only to be stopped by Richie at the top of the stairs, who took him by the elbow and dragged him into the nearest empty room. He shoved Lithium back onto the bed and knelt over him, kissing his tear-stained cheeks. “Richie…I…not right now” Lithium wriggled out from under him and hurried away down the stairs and out the front door, heading to the person he longed to see again. Richie stood by the window and watched him go, eyes gleaming with anger and jealousy. He knew where the little blonde was going, and he knew that he would be alone now for a long time until he found someone to replace Lithium. Yes he loved Jax and Trinity, but not as much. Stefan had been the only one to come close to how Lithium made him feel, and now he was gone too.
