Chapter 5

I know I said I was going to start getting chapters out, and I’m sorry I haven’t really kept my promise so far. Well, I can tell you know that I’ll be able to (re)update this for the next few weekends. Maybe even have it to where it was on Sunday.

Well, I’m having some router problems, so there maybe a chance where I don’t get to because I won’t be able to get on the internet. That’s how it was for the past week or so, and right now it’s only temporary until we can order the right stuff.

Truthfully I wasn’t even thinking about getting this chapter out today, but what the hell, Merry Christmas!

I woke up nice and comfortable. Seth had an arm thrown around my waist, and I was snuggling up to his chest.

Yeah yeah, real manly, right? But this makes up for not cuddling with me.

Something seems a little off though. I feel like I did something I wasn’t supposed too…

Whatever, it’s time to get up and go.

And with that, I shook Seth really hard. Who snorted when he woke up. I’d laugh, but I was pissed. And very very hungry.

So I made him hurry up and get ready.

Damn the people that can seem wide awake after waking up.

Apparently my body’s still getting used to the mating thing, so I’m gonna keep being tired all the time.

And horny, but that has nothing to do with right now.

Once Seth was finally ready to go, I was waiting in the car for him to drive me to get something to eat.

Hardees again. Nothing wrong with it though.

I ate while we were parked into the parking lot. Didn’t really feel like going inside. There’s people in there.

Seth was still looking a little pissed, probably about the whole Blue thing. I think he might have completely and totally forgot about the whole bet thing.

KITTY!!!

Well, more like a cat. Probably a tom. But it’s a cat. I don’t care, it’s a kitty to me.

I finally finished eating. I wanna see Blue!!!

And she’s so close now.

And I’m trying really hard not to grin like a maniac. Even harder not to clap my hands and jump on the seat like a little kid.

Soon we were off down the interstate again. Seth wasn’t talking to me still. Still pissed, I guess, though I think I already said that. Nah, I didn’t.

Weird, the closer we go to her, the more nervous I got. Probably because she’d probably freak out that I’m bringing my gay lover back to her.

Well, if I can help it, she’s not going to find out. I mean, I want to be extra careful on this, you know? Well, she already knows I’m gay, yeah, but she doesn’t know who with, know what I mean?

All I really got to figure out is where I was going to stash Seth. It’d be a little suspicious if I just said he was a friend, yeah?

She wouldn’t believe me for a second. Then she’d say some shit about a woman’s intuition.

And just look at me, trying to plan when I don’t’ really know what the hell I’m doing anymore.

Nor do I know where we’re at. Don’t feel like asking, either.

Too… lazy…

It wasn’t much longer until Seth was telling me we were in Georgia.

Is it just me, or is getting back to Florida seem a little bit faster than leaving from it?

Well, I guess we didn’t meet up with any psychotic demons on the way. At least I’m pretty sure we didn’t. I wonder how I’m not paranoid over it right now.

Not that we met a lot of people on our way here.

And I’m still really bored right now.

WE’RE IN FLORIDA!!!

Yeah, you remember the whole trying not to smile maniacally earlier? Well, it’s useless trying to stop right now.

Completely and totally.

I’m even getting weird looks from Seth.

Well, I can’t help it, I’m gonna see Blue!

Oh god. I forgot to call her.

What the fuck’s wrong with me? How the hell could I forget something like that?

Shit, she’s going to kill me.

Well, I’ll think of something. Eventually.

Hopefully.

I could always use Seth as a shield. Yeah, just got to make sure he’s around.

After giving a few directions and getting us completely turned around, I eventually spotted my place.

We live out pretty close the water. Which makes me happy that dad forced me to go to those classes when I was like, five, so I could learn how to swim.

But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m not going swimming. Pool’s the only way to go.

Do you know all the crap that’s in there?

Other than the occasional dead bodies, there are fish in there.

And worst of all, worms.

Ugh.

And no, I don’t mean the harmless, useful earthworms.

I mean the spiteful parasitic other kind of worms. You know, tapeworms and all that. Or was it flatworms?

Whatever, they’re the same to me.

Ugh.

And yeah, I’ve heard the stories. Some, unassuming girl goes swimming in a lake, and BAM, it’s figured out some way to get in her without her noticing.

You know, I have no idea how she didn’t notice, if it went in through some of the normal ways.

I might have to look that up…

“We’re here,” Seth announced, though I think it was more to get my attention, cause we’d been parked outside my house for a few minutes.

Like, in the driveway.

“I can see that,” I got out of the car, and went up to the front. Seth was smart enough to follow behind me.

I wasn’t sure if I should ring the doorbell or not, I mean, it is my house. Now that I think about it, I kind of live with Seth, so does that mean that I have two houses?

I’m not really sure what I’m talking about anymore.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like I have to ring the doorbell or knock or anything, cause guess what? Bailey’s here.

Like, right in front of me, here.

Staring at me.

Oh, wait, she’s staring past me. At Seth. She’s got that look on her face like she’s not really confused, but she can’t figure out something.

Does that make sense? Does to me, anyway.

“You’re… back…” was all I got from her. Didn’t seem like she was really paying any attention to me. Know what I mean?

Not what I expected. I was sort of thinking that I’d be hearing a whole bunch of screaming, cause she knows I’m gay now, and well, that’s what you’d expect from her, right?

Well, she’s not my best friend.

But she is staring at my mate.

I’d be mad if I didn’t know he was gay.

And I know, real well, too.

“Where’s Blue?” I asked, and Bailey finally looked at me.

There’s the expression I was looking for. Mostly.

Her whole face brightened up and her mouth opened up like she was about to start yelling something.

And then something weird happened.

You know how when someone opens their mouth, to say something or something, but someone else says something, and it sounds like the other person saying it?

Something like that happened.

I heard a scream, but it wasn’t from Bailey.

And it sounded eerily like Blue’s.

Well, that may be because it was from Blue.

Is it weird that I’m kind of scared now?

“JAY!”

I turned around, to hide behind Seth, but he wasn’t there!

NOES!!!

“Do you have any idea how freaking worried I was?”

Oh no! She’s getting closer!

Gotta run, gotta run.

Where did I always used to hide when she was pissed off at me?

In the cabinet. The one near the ground. But dad put something in there though. Damn it. And the door’s locked.

Guess I should mention that Blue’s voice was coming from down the sidewalk.

Okay Jay, be a man.

Well, that’s been thrown out the window since I bottomed.

Where the fuck is Seth?

That little shit’s gonna get it the next time I see him. That’s for damn sure.

I wonder how Bailey will make as a shield?

But that seems so mean, I mean, she is a girl after all.

And Blue’s best friend, so maybe she’ll be spared?

I…

Fuck, I’m stupid.

I just stood there.

And waited. It occurred to me that I could have gone to the back, cause the lock on the door is broken back there, but I didn’t think about it until Blue was in front of me and slapping me on the head.

A couple punches to the stomach later, she went bipolar on me and started hugging me.

“Do you have any idea how worried I was?” Blue said again. She looked more pissed than worried though. Well, I guess that’s a duh, cause I’m here, right?

“Sorry?” Was the only thing I could think of. That… didn’t make her any happier.

“Sorry? Sorry?! I’ve been worrying about for all this time, and all you can think to say is ‘sorry?’” She practically yelled in my ear.

I looked at Bailey. She was smiling at me, as if I deserved this. That or she went mental after I left.

“What do you want me to say? ” Blue was sort of starting to crush me.

I’d like to know how such a little girl could have so much strength.

And, she was about an inch shorter than me. Still growing, apparently.

Stupid genetics. If she grows taller than me, I’m going to hate her.

Well, not really, but I’ll be pissed for a little while.

Anyway…

“Where the hell have you been? Why haven’t you called? They found your stuff. Do you have any idea how hard it was to convince dad you’d just wandered off somewhere? What happened with that one guy? Did you finally sleep with him? Are you two together yet? You‘re still gay, right?”

All I could do was stare. Cause, you know, she went bipolar on me again.

She waited for me to answer, and I thought about all the questions she asked me.

“I was up in Michigan,” she was about to say something, but I went on. “I lost my stuff, which includes my cellphone. I didn’t even think of dad and… what was the last few questions?”

“I… don’t… know…”

Well, apparently it’s not just me.

“You’re still gay, right?” Bailey cut in, and I was contemplating glaring at her, but I didn’t think it was a good idea, with her being Blue’s best friend and all.

“Yes! See? I told you!” Blue suddenly perked up again.

“Told me what?” I asked, but she shook her head.

“Not you. Bailey.” Wow, that hurt.

“Where’d that guy go?” Bailey said, and Blue looked back at me, and you could just see her brain working. That and the mischievous look on her face. I feel like I’m going to be blackmailed.

Sometimes I wonder if Blue is even my sister at all, with her wish, no, need for me to be gay. Is that normal?

Maybe she needs to get her brain checked?

Can they do that?

Nah, we just need to send her to someone with a shrunken monkey head. A.K.A a shrink.

Want to know what I found out while I was being bored? That I never want to go to a therapist. Have you ever taken that word apart before? I’ll let you figure it out on your own if not.

I’ll give you a hint. It makes two words, and you don’t have to rearrange nothing, and there’s only three letter in the first word.

That… kind of gave it away, didn’t it?

Shit.

Whatever.

I don’t care anymore.

Sort of makes me think of Greggy. I wonder if I’d ever have done it with him if it wasn’t for Seth making me his mate?

Or that time in the alley way? Now that I think about it, I never really thought about what he would have done if Seth hadn’t of shown up.

Oh, great, now I freak out about it after it’s been like, what, a week?

Actually, I don’t really remember. How long did it take for us to get to and from Michigan? I really have no idea.

Whatever, doesn’t matter anymore. Other than the fact that it was all the time to make Blue worried about me. Sort of makes me feel good inside.

“But I mean seriously, do you have any idea how hard it was to get dad off your back, when I didn’t know if you were alright either? I’m done covering your butt.”

And now not so good.

“I’m really sorry,” I apologized, and it was almost sincere sounding, “But I got caught up in something.”

Hey, it’s true. I’m not sure if Seth would like if I blabbed about everything that went on.

“He didn’t get you on drugs, did he?” Was the next stunner thrown at me.

“Who?”

“The guy you fucked.” Bailey answered, and this time I did glare at her. To hell with the consequences.

“There was only one guy, right? I don’t care if you’re trying to find yourself or not cause you just became gay, you are not gonna be a slut. Or a druggie.”

“No.” I answered, hoping it was good enough for Blue. It seemed I thought wrong.

“There was more than one guy?”

“What? No!”

“So no on not becoming a slut? Or druggie?”

“What?”

“Yeah, what?” Bailey chimed in, looking about as confused as I felt. And probably felt as well. Not sure about less or more, cause I guess I’m used to this, though I think Bailey would be too.

Cause, you know, they’ve known each other for a few years.

But I’ve known Blue longer!!!

Plus! Plus! She’s my sister!

Ha!

Seth is going to pay.

After I find out where he went. Leaving me like this, psh.
