Chapter 5

Itchan: Yep, and now another chapter!

Athenaartisan: Yeah, it wasn't what i originally had, but i revised it, and it seemed better, so i went with that, and now i'm really glad that i did.

Thanks for the reviews!

When Kaden was done in the bathroom, the food was on it’s way, it’d be here in just a few more moments.

My angel felt along the wall of the hall, and stopped when it lead to the living room, and stood there.

I walked over, and grabbed onto his hand, leading him to the couch, where we both sat down.

He still looked dead to the world. And I’m the vampire…

“Not much of a morning person, are you?” I asked, smirking, though it quickly left my face when he leaned his head against me.

“Not really,” he mumbled against my shoulder, and I could feel his nose twitch. It sort of tickled.

I thought of all the other things I could ask him, now that he was awake, and wasn’t going to bed anytime soon. I think.

I was also hoping that he didn’t remember the incident in the bathroom. Or at least had it chalked down to dream, and by the fact that he hadn’t started screaming pervert, I was sure I was fine in that area.

“Dean?” Kaden said after a moment, moving his head so that his sightless eyes were boring into my forehead.

“Yes?” I prompted. Maybe he was going to start the questions off again.

“How come you never asked me for my name?” I tensed. Truthfully, I hadn’t even thought about it. I don’t know why, but I had just assumed that he knew that I knew.

“I… don’t know.” I told him, truthfully.

“But do you know it?” I nodded, and I was sure that Kaden was able to feel it.

“Thought so.” But there was more than one way that I could’ve found out his name, other than our first face to face meeting. I could’ve known it before I had gone to listen to him playing the violin.

“How long have you been playing the violin?” A completely harmless answer. My angel shrugged.

“About nine years ago, when I was ten, I think,” Well, that told me how old he was. Nineteen.

Glad to know that I wasn’t pedophile. Then again, I guess it could still be considered that, since I was actually a little over fifty, though I claimed twenty-two, since that was the age I stopped growing.

“Dean?” My angel started off again.

“Hm?”

“Can I touch you?” My body tensed again, thinking back when he’d fallen on me. I bit my lip, hard, and Kaden raised his head quickly, “That came out really wrong. I meant your face.”

I coughed, before mumbling out permission.

Way to catch me off guard.

His hands went to my face, still a little wet from washing them after he went to the bathroom. I closed my eyes, trying to get the image of his flushing face out of my mind, to no prevail, it showed up so well on his perfectly pale skin.

They went up to my hair first, feeling the length, I couldn’t help but let my nose follow his arm, the blood flowing through unclogged veins.

“What color?” He asked.

“White. It’s genetic.” I told him. It really was. All of my clan had this color. Adam did too, though that’s stating the obvious, since he was part of it. It was different for each pure clan.

There aren’t that many clans left. It’s one of the reasons we weren’t supposed to be with the same sex. Not being able to procreate, was like giving my kind it’s death sentence. I had yet to impregnate any woman, and I wasn’t going to, though I was sure the elders were going to start harassing me about it eventually.

But, and this very recently started to piss me off, was that same sex couples weren’t looked down upon with other demons. I could probably find some mish mashed group, a big mix of different kinds of demons, that were exiled or any number of things, and didn’t question your decision.

The nearest group I knew of that was like that, was a few states away.

I was broke out of my thoughts when Kaden’s hands moved down. I’d never noticed how soft they were, especially with a males.

They went around my ears, felt about my eyes, and down my cheeks, across my lips, and towards my neck, all slowly, as if he was trying to map out each and every part. I began to wonder how far he’d go down, when he stopped at the base of my neck. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Kaden removed his hands, and I opened my eyes, a light smiled playing on his lips. I wanted to kiss him. But not yet. Not now. Trust first. I don’t want him to think that all I want is sex, even though it seems that’s all I can really even think of.

But I never felt this way about anyone before, and I want to make sure I don’t ruin anything, since this very well might be my only chance.

And there was no way I would lose it, by being one of those demons that couldn’t keep it in their pants.

Not that I was showing that I wasn’t, after the incident in the bathroom.

I’m definitely not the smartest when I just wake up, and very aroused, the object of my desires in the next room.

And, now he was in the same room, leaning on me. It was a good thing that I had already had an orgasm, not long before.

“Dean?” Again another start like this, something about the way he seemed tense, made me think that there was something important he wanted to say. “…Never mind.”

“What is it?” I asked, what would my angel want to say now? I mean, if it was important, I don’t want him to hold it back.

Kaden opened his mouth, about to talk, when there was a knock at the door. I could smell food on the other side, and I knew that it was breakfast.

I told Kaden to wait, before answering the door, and then taking everything to the kitchen area, before returning to my angel, and asking him to come with me.

The minute he’d stepped into the kitchen, his stomach growled. He’d probably smelt the food as well. Heightened senses to make up for the lost one.

“Food?” He looked hopeful again, looking shy. I led him over, and began to tell him the different things that I had gotten him.

I watched as he began to eat, he wasn’t picky.

My angel had managed to eat just about more than half of what I had ordered. I was really going to have to stock my fridge and cabinets.

Well, I planned on going shopping later, so I’d probably do it then. Now that I thought about it, I probably should have done it while Kaden was asleep, but then again, I wouldn’t have known what he liked.

I was also going to have to get him some clothes, but I didn’t want him to think that I was overdoing it, for a complete stranger.

I had enough things to make him think me weird.

Before I knew it, Kaden was done eating, and looking back up at me.

“Aren’t you going to eat anything?” He asked, but I shook my head, then reprimanded myself.

“No, I already ate.” I told him. It was true, in a way. I had finished off some of the blood packets in the fridge.

It was quiet for a few more moments, before my angel broke the silence.

“You know, if you want me to leave, I will. You don’t have to take care of me.” The only reason I even let him get past the word ‘leave,’ was because I had no clue as to why he would think I wanted that. Does he think he was being a bother?

“It’s… fine,” Before he could say anything, “I mean it, I don’t mind, not at all.”

My angel only looked sad after that, and I was at a loss of what to do now.

“I’ll pay you back for this,” He said suddenly, looking almost desperate for an answer of what to do.

My mouth went dry again. I wondered if he’d do some of the things that the perverted part of my brain thought of, but no, I wasn’t going to do that.

“Don’t worry about it,” I told him. Really, he was going to be mine, there was nothing he was ever going to have to pay me back for.

“But I want to.” still the desperation, with a hint of pouting.

“You don’t have to,” I tried making it clearer to him.

“Please, let me do this?” Begging.

I ran a hand through my hair, if only he knew the effects he had on me. For all I knew, he did, and just wanted to see me chasing my tail, around and around in turmoil. I was going to be crazy by the end of the week.

“You… You still don’t have to.” If he wanted to though, I wasn’t going to stop him.

“Thank you,” I shook my head slowly, almost disbelievingly.

“Come on, lets get going,” I went to him, and touched his arm, to let him know that I was there. He looked up at me, half curious, and a little disappointed.

“Where’re we going?” I was about to tell him to the store, but then I realized he was still in his pajamas, and I had yet to get his dirty clothes cleaned.

“The store,” I said offhandedly, before telling him to stay put for a moment, while I went back to the guest room, the one he was staying in.

I went through the dresser, and pulled out some clothes. They were Adams. He and my angel were about the same size.

I can’t believe I hadn’t remembered this earlier. Just something that I didn’t really think about often.

This was the one time that I was grateful that Adam didn’t listen to me when I told him to take his stuff home. The only reason it was here was because he had snuck into my house while I was gone on a few trips, business related to the clan.

‘House sitting’ as he called it. No matter how hard it was scrubbed, my home still smelt a bit of booze. He paid for that, and I made sure he was the one who cleaned it up, too.

I went back to the kitchen, and handed Kaden the clothes.

He was still looking confused, and felt the shirt and pants.

“Do you want to stop by your place, and get some clothes?” I asked, the thought just occurring to me. Kaden hesitated for a moment, before replying.

“Yeah, though you could just drop me off there,” I was already shaking my head.

“No, you’re staying here,” I made my voice sound playful, as if I was just kidding, even though I was dead serious. Kaden didn’t see it for what it was, and smiled.

“Alright, alright,” He stood up, and I led him to the bathroom, once again.

A few minutes later, he was changed, and we were leaving the building. I decided to take my car, I didn’t want to make him walk all the way.

“Where’d you get these clothes? They can’t be yours, can they?” He asked. I was right, they were almost a perfect fit. I just hoped Adam wouldn’t be able to smell his scent when he got them back. I could just get rid of them, with the excuse that I was tired of waiting for him to come get them.

That led me to another question, how would I get Kaden’s smell out of my house? I really didn’t want to, because it was so amazing, but Adam knew I wasn’t one for taking in strangers, especially overnight.

“No.”

I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

We got to my car, nothing too fancy, and got in. My angel gave me the address to the hotel he had been staying at, apologizing afterwards.

And I told him that he didn’t need to apologize, because I didn’t mind. I also reminded him that Jeremy didn’t want to see him, though he said that the man probably would probably be fast asleep after a hard night of drinking. Apparently it was a usual occurrence.

Another small, good thing about Kaden being blind, was the fact that I could give an excuse to follow him around everywhere. Like into the hotel, for example. I had to make sure that no one would touch my property.

When we pulled up, it was just a regular hotel, not something grand, like my angel deserved. I got out, and helped him, walking inside, and going to the front desk. Kaden didn’t have the key to the room.

I hated seeing the sad look on his face when he learned that Jeremy had up and left town, taking everything with him, including Kaden’s money and clothes.

“He’s… never gone this far before.” Kaden said, and I asked him what he meant. “Well, any other time I pissed him off, he’d usually go away, and try and find some way to make me regret it, but he’s never left town before.”

Maybe my bad luck wasn’t gone completely yet.

“You can stay with me, for a while if you want.” I told him. This gave me much more time. I’ll have to thank Jeremy if I ever see him again, after I kill him, that is.

“No, I don’t want to be a bother,” I couldn’t tell the look on Kaden’s face anymore. Something between desperation, hope, and anger, if it could be that.

“It’s fine, what else can you do, anyway?” I didn’t mean to be mean, and I didn’t like it after I said it, but he had to realize this.

“But…” He trailed off, he was at a complete loss.

“Really, don’t worry about it. Besides, I’d like to have someone around for awhile. I have nothing else to do, anyway.” I threw out excuses, hoping that there was one that made up his mind in my favor.

“I… I really can’t.” Hesitation. Good.

“Why not?” Now that I thought about it, if he didn’t, he would be putting himself in a very dangerous position. I wasn’t going to just let him go. I’d tie him up if I had to, and hope that eventually, he’d see it my way.

“I just… it’s weird. We’re complete strangers.” His cheeks flushed again in the lovely red hue again.

“You’ve already stayed a night, besides, it’s not that I’ll do anything to you,” I know I said I would be as honest to him as possible, but I really needed him, and I needed time.

“Yeah…” I was quiet, letting him think, while leading him to the car. He got in, still thinking. What other choice did he have, anyway? I could find someway, to contact his friends, or find him somewhere to stay, considering his position, but I wasn’t going to.

“But I don’t have anything with me.” He was grasping at straws now, trying to find any reason not to.

“That’s fine, if you need anything, I’ll buy it for you.”

“No-”

“Besides, it’s not like it’s my money, anyway. It’s practically a fucking allowance.” I got it from my clan. It was a monthly allowance, the more I got, depended on how good I was for the month.

Adam was lucky he got anything at all. But, at least he was giving away our secret. It really was an allowance. I never quite found out where the heads got it themselves.

“But…” I knew that I had him now. I just needed push him, just a little bit more. Maybe I didn’t even need to do that.

“Seriously, you’d be doing me a favor. I don’t ever have anyone to talk to.” regularly, and with something actually interesting to say.

“But what would we talk about?” I thought for a moment.

“Anything you want to.” It would help me get a hang on what his views were on everything. Something else I wanted to know.

“I…I…” One last thing.

“Just stay for a few days, you can leave anytime you want. Find a way to pay me back later, if that’s what you want. And, if you don’t want me to be around you, than I won’t.” Another lie. I wouldn’t ever leave him.

Kaden bit his bottom lip, my eyes attracted to the sight. I can’t wait for me to be the one biting those plump lips. His eyes looked at me again, I could’ve sworn they had gotten darker, almost completely black.

“Al… fine. But only for a couple of days.” I could’ve jumped for joy, instead, I let out a small, victorious smile.

Perfect.

“But you don’t have to buy me anything,” he said quickly.

“Too late, we’re already at the store.” I smirked, and my angel pouted. This sort of look was fine by me, as long as it wasn’t because of something that was important. Like this, it was just cute.

“Dean…” He whined. I got out of the car, heading to his side, and opening the door, but he wouldn’t out.

“I’m buying you something whether you like it or not. You don’t have to come with me, if you don’t want to.” I told him. It didn’t matter if he came or not, in the long run, but I wanted him there, to make sure I got what he wanted.

“Fine…” He finally got out, and I led him into one of the stores that lined the busy road, in the middle of the city.
