chapter 5

July 5, 1987

Most of the staff has the day off, so I decided to go looking around. Most of the rooms I found were broom closets or offices. There was one last room at the end of the hall. It was dark done there and I almost decided not to go in it but it felt as though something was pulling me closer to the room. Once I got in the room I was shocked. There was an electric chair in the center of the room. There was also some desk and chairs in there. It was set up like a classroom. The electric chair itself was old looking, maybe 20 years or so. The room was cover in dust and spider webs.

I wondered around the room and there was a folder lying on the desk closest to there chair. I picked it up and studied it closely. It was a patient's file. The paper was faded and hard to read, but in the top right corner there was a name. Ruby M. Simion. The date on the file was July 5, 1965.
I kept reading the file. The file said she had been killed because the meds given to her had a horrible effect on her mental state; and no one at the hospital could be blamed for this. This could not be the same Ruby I have been talking to. This lady died over 20 years ago.

A soft wind blew the door open. I whipped around and saw Ruby standing there; she looked at me with a sad smile and said, "Don't let what happened to me, happen to you." I went to speak but she vanished into thin air.

I waited day and night for Ruby to come back. She never came. I'm not really freaked out that she is a ghost, or whatever. I am starting to think I’m a bit out there if the thought of ghost doesn’t scare me. I honestly just want to know everything that happened. Did she really die because of the doctors here? What meds were they testing on her? Are they the same ones they have been giving me? And more importantly, I want to know why. I'm so tired right now, I will write more tomorrow.

~~~July 11, 1987~~~
Nothing happened today. I sat there and watched the crazy people talk to themselves. The doctor raised the dosage of meds. I can't really remember much of anything. I only remember some little things. It’s like I will be doing something and can not remember it 15 minutes later. Which is why I'm now going to start writing everything down as soon as I get back to my room. Nothing is making much sense anymore. I am starting to think it is the meds they are giving me. I was fine before all my changes in my meds.
