Chapter Five: Solutions and Problems
_____________

Wow... okay, so I didn't realize the last chapter was so short...
Sorry about that.
I have a feeling most of my chapters are short seeing as they're all about the same length in the word document.
I'm going to try and see if I can combine chapters, just to give you guys more to read when I update.
I don't know if I'll be able to, though...
Oh well. I'll try my best.

And to respond to the latest reviews:

Young Sage: Haha, you have no idea how hard I laughed when I read your review...
Beauty and the Beast? I guess, if you substituted "Tale as Old as Time" with "Super Freak"...
Gotta love Rick James!
And yeah, Greg isn't given much of a background... he's a pretty basic character I created to up the stakes...
Create more conflict, you know?
Actually, I should probably add him in more often. I'm going to see what I can do about that.
And I've prepared about oh... forty chapters, so you know. Of course, there's a LOT of room for improvement.
So that number might change if I end up combining chapters like I mentioned earlier.
And about getting Felix and Mark together; I may have rushed things. But hopefully it's okay.

kordavamennemer: Haha yeah... well, I'm glad I could bring up your spirits!
I hope you enjoy this chapter.

____________

Monday morning, Mark and his boys sat on the picnic table. Mark had decided that it was time to ask Felix out on a date. Of course,
he was still a bit uneasy, and so he was hesitant to do so. Unbeknownst to him, the other guys had devised a plan with Felix.
As Felix reached the top step of the concrete steps, he began to skip happily over to the picnic bench.

“Hey, fellas!”

of course, there was no reply. No one had actually really paid attention to his greeting because they were all to busy gaping at
his attire.
The underclassman was wearing a hot pink, off-the-shoulder shirt with a black fishnet tank-top over it. Covering the bottom half of
him was a black miniskirt, reaching the middle of his thigh. He wore pink fishnet stockings, and black platform combat boots. Mark
gulped slightly, the heat rising in his cheeks again. Felix took one look at their faces and laughed.

“Come on, boys… do I really look that hot?”

Mark was the first one to gain his voice back. “Um… Felix?”
the boy just giggled and twirled around. “Oh, you be quiet. I like it!”
Mark coughed uneasily, not being able to handle the strong emotions or the flooding warmth in his veins.
“I… wasn’t going to say I didn’t like it.”
Felix clapped. “Oh… yay! So then… what were you gonna say?”
Mark immediately calmed down, remembering what he was going to say in the first place.
“Well, me ‘n the fellas are gonna go to Cold Issue, that new bar that opened up in the city. You wanna join us?”
Felix nodded vigorously. “I’ve been wanting to go there ever since it opened! My mom’s boyfriend is a bouncer there… he’ll let us in for free. Or at least… that’s what he promised.”
Mark smiled. “Ah, that’s perfect then! So… what night would be good for you?”
Felix cocked a slender eye brow as his eyes slitted mischievously. A twisted, playful smirk danced across his porcelain features.

“What say you, if I say that we should go right now?”

Mark looked at his watch. “Felix, come on. The school bell’s gonna ring in a bit, and It’s barely nine o’clock! The club’s not going to be open THIS early.”
Felix nodded, shrugging. “I know that, but other things are open… like that old bowling alley, The Joint. Don’t you know a group of kids turned it into a hang-out, and now it’s like… one big under-age dance spot? I mean… it’s pretty much the same thing as a bar, and you’re good on the dance floor.”
Mark shook his head. “Nah… it wouldn’t look good if all of us didn’t show up at school.”
One of the boys in the group decided to intervene. “Mark, we won’t go. You guys go have fun at The Joint, and we’ll all meet up after school at Cold Issue.”

Mark gave in. "Alright, guys, alright... You win.”

Felix tossed him a bag. “Alright then, go change and we’ll get to steppin’!”
Mark looked in the bag. In it was a fitted black T-shirt and black baggy jeans. “Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! I’ll be right back… meet me down at the drop off.”
Fifteen minutes later, they both hoped into Mark’s car and headed down to The Joint. When they arrived fifteen or so minutes later, Mark stared at the building with second thoughts. The windows were all boarded over, yet music and beams of strobe lights as well
as other visual effects peeked out through the cracks. At the door, there was a well-built, intimidating young man, probably about
twenty or so years old.
Just before they got out of the car, though, Felix pulled out a small black mesh bag. In it were bright pink lipstick, eyeliner, and mascara. He put on the make-up, making himself look more like a girl.

“Alrighty, let’s go.”

Mark was confused, to say the least. “Wait… why are you doing… this… again?”
he motioned to his attire and make-up, and Felix shook his head.
“Well… I don’t know about you, but I don’t really want to be avoided today. How do you think people will react if they see two guys
dancing together? It won’t be pretty, I tell you. Those close-minded people… curse them.”
He shook his clenched fist, and Mark couldn’t help but laugh.

“You’re too cute.”

Felix blinked. “Wait… what am I again?”
Mark blushed a bit, realizing what he had said. “Uh… cute?”
Felix winked at Mark. “Thanks, Marky-poo. That’s so sweet.”
The two boys strode arm-in-arm up to the bouncer.

“Password?”

Felix rolled his eyes. “Come on, Donny. Let us in.”
the man cocked an amused brow. “Felix… playing dress-up again I see. Almost didn’t recognize you for a minute there.”
Felix waved his hand as if to dismiss the thought. “Come come now, Donovan dear. How could you not recognize a face as distinctive and gorgeous as this?”
Mark snorted and chuckled, and Felix playfully elbowed him in the ribs.
“Alright, now… no more ganging up on the defenseless fairy. Please… let us in, Donny?”
The man just jerked his head towards Mark. “Who’s he, Felix?”
Felix smirked and winked. “Fresh meat.”
Mark blinked, taken aback by the answer, and Donny just rolled his eyes and opened the doors for them. Loud techno music came blaring out into the outside as the two boys stepped into the old building.
Inside, the building consisted of two areas; the bowling area, and the lounge. The lounge had been turned into a large dance floor complete with strobe lights, DJ, and DJ booth. The bowling alley area, being smaller, had been made into the new lounge. The slippery surfaces of the bowling lanes and the ball-returns had been stripped away long before, and couches had been moved in.
Since there were no refreshments being sold, one would have to bring their own.
Mark smirked as he looked around. “You sure do get around, don’t you, Felix? It’s like you’re a regular at every club.”
Felix laughed and shrugged. “What can I say? I’m the queen of partying, amongst all other things.”
Mark shook his head. “Nah, you’re just a queen in general.”
Felix nodded. “And don’t you forget it!”
Felix then proceeded to grab Mark’s wrist and pulled him onto the dance floor, where a medium-sized group of people were dancing to
the music pouring and vibrating out of the large speakers.
At first, they danced like a couple of friends just out for a good time, but as the music played on and the crowds got bigger, Mark got more daring. Soon, they were bumping and grinding like the rest of the teenage couples dancing it out on the floor. After a while of dancing, the two tired out and were lounging on one of the couches.

“Hey, Felix… you thirsty?”

the younger boy nodded, and marks stood up from the couch.
“I think I got some cans of coke in my car. If you want, I’ll go get them.”
Felix smiled appreciatively. “Thanks, I’d like that.”
Mark nodded, turning to leave. “Alright, I’ll be right back.”
He then proceeded to make his way to the car.
Just as Mark was leaving, another older boy took Mark’s seat next to Felix.
“Um… I’m sorry, another person’s sitting there.”
The stranger looked over at Felix. “I don’t think so, sweet-cheeks. He just went out the door.”
Felix rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I’m aware of that. He just went to get a couple of sodas for the both of us.”
The other boy nodded, clearly skeptical. “Alright, doll. When the other dude comes back, I’ll move. But for now, why don’t we both take it out on the dance floor?”
Felix sighed, frustrated. “Look. It’s obvious I’m with the other guy, isn’t it? I came in with him, I danced with him, and I plan on doing everything else I do in here with him, so you can step off.”
But the other boy was persistent. He put his arm around Felix’s shoulders, his hand lightly stroking Felix’s bare shoulder. “Look, babe. What’s so special about him? He doesn’t deserve a hot little number like you. I tell ya what. You come dance with me, and I’ll show you what being with a real man is like.”
Felix tried to push the other guy away, but didn’t have the advantage. “I don’t wanna dance with you! Why can’t you get that through your thick skull?”
the boy wasn’t listening, though. He was focusing more on his hand sliding up Felix’s fishnet-clad leg.

____________

Eeeehhh...
Okay. So they're out on a date of sorts...
And things are going to get a lot more complicated.
I don't know how believable the Joint is, but I based it off of some of the places I have around my town.
What can I say, I love clubbing... and the underground clubs are the best.

Hopefully, this chapter met your expectations. If not, then I'm sorry...
D:
I'm really trying my best with these chapters!
If you have any pointers or advice (thank you Young Sage!) PLEASE do not hesitate to tell me about it in a review.
You have no idea how much you help!
Or maybe you do.
Okay. I'm going to stop before I start rambling.
Thanks again for reading!
