Sorry kids. August is vacation month for me, so updates were retarded for a bit. I’m finally done camping but I just got hired on at a third job… so updates will still be slow, but well worth it. ;D

I’m also in the process of moving out of the house with a few of my playmates – I mean, friends – so when I have down time I’m usually having sex – er, sleeping – and then occasionally I think about this story. Woo!

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

As the cousins sat at a make-shift cabana bar sipping on some mixed drinks, Sae found himself thinking back to the blond girl. She was very pretty; but why was there an American on the cruise ship? He’d only seen Asian people and a few Africans, but no white people anywhere. Not to mention he hadn’t seen sight of her since she told him his ‘fortune’ (or misfortune, now that he thought about it). She was happy, but in her eyes, Sae noted a slight sadness. Why?, he wondered.

“Oi,” Bam nudged the teen’s arm with his elbow, raising a brow. “You’re supposed to drink it, not drown your sorrows in it.” The man’s cheeks were already tinged a light pink – he’d had quite a few drinks and Sae was only on his second.

“Just because some people enjoy the flavor of their drinks doesn’t mean you need to interrupt the savoring, drunkard.” Sae scoffed and took a drink of the daiquiri, feeling his own face heat up a bit. Ah, that was quite a ‘sip’.

Bam chuckled and waved a hand. “Yadda yadda. I’m not a drunkard. I’m enjoying the taste quite fine. See? I’ve already ordered another~” Sure enough, as soon as his drink was gone the barkeep set a fresh, chilled bottle of beer in front of the Japanese man.

Sae rolled his eyes lightly, then swiveled in his seat to face the pool room, watching the people mill about. Some were catching the sun rays that were coming through the skylights, others were reading books. Children were playing in the pool on one end, and in the other there was a water aerobics class going on. The teen sipped on his drink plaintively, oceanic orbs lingering on a few scantily-clad women.

A flash of blond hair caught his sight, however, and he sat up straighter in his seat as he caught the tail end of a dress going around a corner.

It’s her. He thought, as he set his drink down without a word and started at a fast pace towards where he saw the girl disappear to. Around the corner he went, and he was greeted with a completely deserted hallway. He paused and frowned, scratching the back of his burgundy head in mild perplexion. He had just seen her, where did she go? He started down the hallway, passing by a couple of closed doors, but as he passed an open one, a distinct chill ran down his spine to his toes. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and he gulped, disliking the uncomfortable sinking feeling in his stomach. He turned and glanced into the room slowly, noting that it was a grand ball room of some sort. It was barren, save for a few tables and chairs, and it was then that he noticed the blond sitting in a chair at the other end.

“Hey!” Sae stepped into the room, and the door shut quietly behind him without his noticing. The girl turned back, a bit surprised, and then smiled kindly.

“Howdy, stranger.” She said, pulling out a chair for Sae to sit on as he reached her table. “What’s up?”

The accent on her lips was a bit odd; it almost seemed like she was self-taught in the Korean tongue. Which was remarkable, really.

“Not much, I’ve been looking for you.” Sae chuckled lightly as he admitted this. The pretty blond raised a brow, and he shrugged. “Well you just kind of… disappeared yesterday.” He smiled handsomely. “I didn’t get your name.”

A pretty blush dusted the girl’s cheeks, and she fiddled with the glass of water in front of her.

“My name’s Penny.” She said, taking a sip of the water and glancing over at Sae. “And you are…?”

“S-,” he was about to give his real name, and then remembered Bam’s warning of not giving it out to anyone, no matter what. He caught himself and cleared his throat, pretending that he choked on his spit, then smiled. “You can call me Kicks.”

Penny’s brows disappeared into her straw-colored hair. “… Are you in a band, or something?”

Sae blushed and tugged at the few chains dangling from his pants, and nodded. “Yeah… me and my cousin.”

“Oh, your boyfriend?” Penny asked, tilting her head innocently.

Sae huffed. “My cousin, not boyfriend. That’s weird.”

“Oh.” Penny nodded in understanding, then deadpanned. “Is incest acceptable in Korea?”

“Argh!” Sae groaned and tugged at his hair, kicking Penny’s seat lightly, making the blond giggle lightly and wave a placating hand.

“I’m just teasing, I’m just teasing. It’s just rare that you see two men so close to each other; whether they’re family or not.” She shrugged. “It’s only natural to assume that you’re together.”

The Korean teen’s face heated up instantly. He had never thought about people staring at them with those kinds of thoughts. Now that he thought about it, the only other male couples he’d seen on board had been discovered in some hallway making out and groping each other.

“Hello?” Penny waved a hand in front of Sae’s vision, making him blink and look at her. She laughed and shook her friend, pointing over Sae’s shoulder. “Your cousin-boyfriend is coming.”

Sae fumed. “He’s NOT my boyfriend!” He hissed, then turned around when a hand was put on his shoulder. He glanced up at Bam, who looked slightly confused.

“What are you doing here, Kicks?” Bam asked, glancing around the empty ball room.

… Wait, empty?

Sae swiveled and turned to see that the seat that Penny had just been sitting in was now unoccupied, and she was nowhere to be seen. The glass that she had been tinkering with was empty and completely dry, and the seat pushed in neatly much like every other chair in the room.

“I…”

“The door was shut and I almost couldn’t get it open.” Bam commented, scratching the top of his azure head, a brow raising before he rubbed his upper arms. “It’s freezing in here. Let’s go.”

Bam grabbed Sae by his upper arm, dragging the teen away from the table. Sae ripped his gaze away from the seat that he had apparently been talking to, and then up to his cousin.

“I was talking to a girl,” he started, and Bam slowed his gait until he stopped and stared at his cousin.

“A girl.” Bam repeated, dropping his hands to his sides and staring at Sae.

“Yeah!” Sae waved his hands and arms idly and gestured towards the table. “She’s American, her name is Penny and-,”

“Woah woah woah.” Bam grabbed the teen’s hands out of the air, holding them steadily against his chest. “I think someone’s had too much to drink.”

The shorter male groaned and shook his head, pulling his hands away from Bam. “I’m not drunk! She was here, we were talking.”

The older male nodded his head slowly, obviously not convinced. Damn it, where did that girl go? She was just there! And if the doors were closed then she couldn’t have left…

Sae swiveled and kneeled down, lifting up the table cloth and peering suspiciously beneath the furniture. Nothing. He tipped over the chair carefully; nothing. He even went so far as to lift the tea lid off of the kettle, before Bam chuckled and pried him away from the scene of the missing person.

“Let’s get you to bed, eh? I think you should sleep off whatever it was you drank.” Bam towed Sae away, who was by now whimpering in defeat.

“But she was there Bam, she was pretty and funny and thought that we were dating, and-,”

“She thought we were dating?” Bam asked, throwing Sae off a bit.

“Yes,” he said, blowing over that fact quickly. “How did she-?” The Korean stopped short when his eyes drifted to the floor, spotting one of Penny’s fortune sticks. “This is hers!” He said, picking it up. The symbols read “faith”, and he glanced around as they exited the ball room, looking for any sign of the blonde girl. There was none, and he sighed and slumped.

“Well if you see her tomorrow you can give it back to her, all right? We have three more days on this boat, try not to go insane.” Bam chided lightly as they headed up towards their suite, Sae still holding the fortune stick in his hand.

Faith, eh? He thought, setting it on the table on his side of the bed, stripping down and getting under the blankets with Bam with more than a few thoughts on his mind.

In the morning he would scour the entire ship, to find Penny. She enthralled him with her mystery, and he was going to solve his suspicions.

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

The next morning Sae found himself in a familiar predicament. His face was pressed against Bam’s chest, which was rising and falling slowly with deep, even breaths. One arm was curled into his own chest, the other draped over the man’s strong stomach, and Bam had an arm slung around his shoulders to keep him close. At least this time Bam wasn’t mumbling about carp… Sae carefully disentangled himself from the embrace and sat up, yawning and stretching and scratching his chest. After a few moments of zoning out while trying to wake up, he slid out of bed and headed towards the enormous shower. He discarded his boxers and stepped in, staring at an electric keypad.

There were a few numbers on it – the temperature, he was assuming – as well as a few other functions. Soft, hard, massage, steam. He made the water about one hundred degrees Fahrenheit and then pressed the ‘massage’ function, then squealed lightly in surprise when the doors shut and water started to hit him from every angle. He moved to the middle of the shower, smiling lightly and sighing in satisfaction as different streams of water worked on different parts of his body. His legs and arms were spread a bit so that the jets could get to them, and his torso – front and back – felt like it had the hand of God running over his muscles. This was heaven! He decided that the first Princely thing he would do, would be to get a replica of this shower.

After a few moments of massage, he turned it to the ‘soft’ function so he could bathe himself. Now the water just poured from the ceiling, much like it was raining. It was awesome. He lathered his hair off to the side where none of the water reached, then stepped under the spray to rinse. The whole time he was smiling, and when he was clean he looked back at the pad. There were a few drying options, and he chose ‘relax’. The water stopped and soon a whirlwind of warm air started to move about the small room, effectively drying Sae without making him cold in the slightest bit. A compartment in the wall opened and presented a warm, fluffy towel, which Sae took and wrapped around his dry waist. He lifted a hand to run his fingers through his hair and discovered that the locks were dry, and was completely satisfied.

Yeah, he would definitely need this shower for every day of his life.

Stepping out of the area, the temperature a bit cooler in the main room, he glanced around when he noticed the bed was empty. Bam was seated on a bar stool in the mini kitchen, eating a bowl of cereal. Sae put on some pajama pants and joined his cousin, sitting down on the stool next to the older man and serving himself some cereal.

“How was your shower?” Bam asked, smiling and taking a bite of his breakfast.

“Amazing,” Sae gushed, chuckling as he poured some milk into his bowl. “I want a shower just like it.”

Bam nodded, “All right.” He glanced over at Sae with a raised brow. “So you gonna look for that girl today?” He asked, and Sae shrugged lightly.

“I guess. It shouldn’t be too hard finding an American on a ship full of Asians, right?” Sae said, taking a spoonful of his sugary cereal and chewing.

To that, Bam shrugged as well. “I suppose so.” He grinned. “Do you like her?”

Sae bristled lightly. “Not like that. She’s nice and funny but… eh.”

“Aw,” the Japanese man pouted lightly. “You’re gonna break her heart. I bet she’s already in love with you.~”

Kicks laughed. “Hah! No way, dude. She thinks we’re dating.” He shoved Bam’s shoulder lightly, making the other man flail a bit so as not to dribble milk from his mouth.

“What, you’d be embarrassed to be claimed by me?” Bam asked, as if insulted.

“Pffft!” Sae laughed, placing a hand on his stomach. “Are you serious? Me. And you. A couple.” He shook his head and rolled his eyes, going back to eating. “That’s like a trying to mix oil and water.”

Bam’s cheeks puffed out in indignation. “You’re saying we’re not compatible?”

“Nah, that’s not what I’m saying.” Sae shrugged nonchalantly. “I’m just saying that when we hook up it’ll probably be an accident or something.”

Bam nodded, then paused. “ -- … when we hook up?”

The younger man nodded, then paused, then blushed. “I meant IF. If! we hook up!”

The Japanese man smiled broadly and hooked an arm around Sae’s shoulders, giving him a noogie. “Aw, Kicks, I never knew you felt that way~”

“I don’t! We’re cousins!” Sae flailed and whimpered, trying to get away. When he was finally released, Bam raised a brow and donned a slightly serious expression.

“You know we’re eighth cousins, right? Practically not even related save for the fact we share the same name.”

Sae blushed and ducked his head. “I’m not-,”

“What, not into guys?” Bam asked, leaning forward suggestively towards Sae. “I see the way you look at me~”

“That’s ridiculous! You’re- you’re- ugh!” Sae stood and went around to the other side of the bar, where the sink was, and started to clean his dishes.

“Come on, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about.” Bam rested his chin on his hand and slid his bowl over to Sae, who took it without word and started to clean it. “I like men. I’m not afraid to admit it.”

“Yeah, but-,” But what? Sae had never been interested in girls. Or men for that matter. Not until Bam kidnapped him… but, the Korean just chalked it up to the fact that they’ve been spending so much time together. How could he not become attracted to the older man? He was smart, funny, insanely good looking – wait! No! The burgundy head shook violently, and he started to do some other dishes that had accumulated.

Bam stared and raised a brow. “You’re already going into housewife mode, Kicks.”

Sae paused in his ministrations and glanced around, noticing that he had even started to wash clean dishes. Blushing furiously, he grunted and tossed them all into the bin of the sink and wiped his hand off on a towel, then pointed an accusing finger at Bam.

“You’re putting indecent thoughts in my head!”

Bam’s brows furrowed. “Like what?”

“Like the other night when I woke up and you were spooning me, mumbling… I don’t know, stuff in Japanese! You called me a carp, you weirdo!”

The blue-haired man blinked for a few seconds, licking his lips in thought. A light blush dusted over his cheeks, but he was quick to laugh and shake his head and his his open palm on the counter top a few times. Sae wasn’t as amused by being called a carp as Bam was, and he crossed his arms over his chest and huffed, tapping his foot.

“I called you koi?” Bam asked, wiping a tear from his eye, and Sae nodded. He snorted out a few more laughs, then leaned forward a bit. “Koi in Japanese is usually used for endearments…” He rested his cheek in his palm. “I meant it as ‘lover’.”

This time Sae’s blush turned his face red as a tomatoe. He buried his face in his hands, finally registering the context of which ‘koi’ was used. He and Bam were spooning, Bam had an erection… oh God!

“PERVERT!” He picked up a shot glass and hurled it at his cousin’s face, but instead the Japanese man caught it calmly and set it down.

“I was dreaming, sheesh.” He said defensively, but Sae shook his head.

“Pervert…” Sae grumbled, picking up the shot glass and setting it back on the counter where it was, then stalked off to go put on a pair of jeans and a band tee. “I’m going out to find Penny-,”

His sentence and movements were cut short when he turned around and ran straight into Bam’s (solid, muscular, warm) chest. He fumed and glanced up at Bam, who was smiling lightly.

“Are you really so insulted at the thought of us being together?” Bam asked, and Sae instantly felt guilty.

Of course he wasn’t insulted. He was far from it! Bam had quickly become a special person in Sae’s life. His protector, his savior, his best friend, his family. But the thought of adding ‘lover’ to that slew of things that Bam had become was a bit mind boggling. So much in so few days – he was still adjusting to the fact of being a Prince of an ancient clan.

“Bam…” Sae started, licking his lips and shaking his head, smiling up at the other. “I’m not insulted by it. I’m not offended by it. I’m anything but those things. But… you gotta remember that I just got tossed into all of this, this week. I still need to register a lot of it. And I love you, I do, just… just not like that, you know?” He licked his lips again and let his fingers slide down the strong line of Bam’s jaw. “I mean, I could, but not now. You know? I have a lot on my plate.”

Bam bit his bottom lip, and in response to that action Sae used his index finger to release the flesh from the grip. The older man smiled and nodded.

“You’re right.” He pulled away from Sae’s hands, then winked and slapped the younger man’s butt as he walked away. “Go find your blondie~”

Sae jumped in reaction to the slap, blushing and glaring wildly at the Japanese man, huffing and stalking towards the door.

“Yeah yeah. Don’t get into any trouble while I’m gone!” Sae said, before sticking his tongue out and shutting the door behind him.

He slumped against the wood and took a breath, closing his eyes. That was a lot to take in. But he was glad that Bam understood. After all, the guy was there to take care of him right? And it seemed like the man was ready to bend to Sae’s will on anything that the kid wanted, said, or did. As much as Sae felt like that was kind of taking advantage of the Japanese man, he felt grateful that it got him out of a sticky situation.

Standing up straight, he opened his eyes, and nearly let out a cry of distress when Penny appeared right in front of him. He covered his mouth quickly and swallowed the scream, as he leaned against the door again, panting heavily.

“Jesus!” He finally whispered, sitting up straight and running a hand through his hair. Penny was staring at him like he grew an extra head, and he placed a hand over his wildly thumping heart. “You scared me.”

“Sorry,” Penny said sheepishly, biting her lip and shuffling her feet. Sae noticed that her outfit and hair style never changed. Was she poor? “I figured you were looking for me.”

“Yeah,” Sae said, scratching the back of his neck lightly. He blinked, then remembered the fortune stick that he put in his pocket. “Oh, you dropped this yesterday.” He pulled it out of his pants and handed it to her, and she accepted it with a smile.

“Oh, thanks.” She said, smiling warmly and placing it in a pocket of her dress. “I didn’t realize that I’d dropped it.” She fiddled with it for a moment, before she placed a hand on Sae’s shoulder.

Instantly, he felt like his body froze over. His teeth started chattering and goosebumps rose on his skin, and he gasped in surprise. Penny blinked and pulled her hand away, and the warmth slowly returned to Sae’s body. He took a few breaths, and then she smiled lightly.

“I’m so happy that I can contact you!” Penny said, clasping her hands together and bouncing slightly. “And your cousin-lover!” She nodded, her blond locks coming into her features before she idly brushed them away. “I’ve been waiting for twenty years!”

Sae blinked a few times, lost. Twenty years? Contact? “I’m not dating my cousin!”

Penny waved a disinterested hand, and Sae kept talking. “Wait, contact…?”

“Yeah.” Penny’s blue eyes glittered lightly, and she gave the peace sign. “I’ve been dead for twenty years!”

Sae’s blood ran cold, and then, blackness consumed his vision.

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

When Sae came to, he was in his bed. Bam and Penny were in his vision, and once he registered Penny’s presence, he shrieked and scooted up against the headboard.

“WHAT THE HELL! YOU’RE A GHOST!?”

Bam glanced at Penny with a raised brow. “Really?”

Penny giggled lightly and nodded, and Sae quickly pulled the covers up over his entire body, shuddering beneath them.

“That’s so cool!” Bam smiled and sat on the bed, and when Sae peeked out from the covers, he noticed that Penny was floating over the bed. Floating.

“I’ve been waiting for someone with the right psychic wavelengths to get on the ship.” She sighed lightly. “I have some unfinished business.”

“YOU’RE A GHOST!?” Sae shrieked again, keeping the blankets around his body so that only his eyes were visible.

Penny rolled her eyes. “Yes, I’m a ghost. And it’s under special circumstances that you guys can even see me.”

Bam seemed totally into it, while Sae was quaking like a leaf.

“Well let us in on it,” the Japanese man said, leaning against the headboard and pulling Sae into his arms.

Penny smiled, then started speaking.

“About twenty years ago, my father and I were traveling around the world. He was a photographer and loved the Asian culture, so we were here a lot. In Asia, that is. While we were in a small town, we helped an elderly couple with their crops, since their son was swamped with work. In return, they gave us a ticket to this cruise ship. They said that we deserved to go, it was good karma and bound to happen. So, we were ecstatic. We got on the ship and were having a wonderful time, until the last night.”

The American closed her eyes, took a breath, then continued. “Turns out that the elderly couple we helped were in massive amounts of debt to some high and mighty clan. They were supposed to come onto the cruise so that they could talk everything over with the head of the clan and get things squared away. I guess the head guy was really pissed, and when he saw us instead of the elderly couple, he went insane.

First, he beat up my dad really bad. Said that we were useless Americans and had no right to be anywhere near Asian territory. He also said that we used the elderly couple to get onto this cruise, and that we didn’t really care about them. He went on and on and on for hours, ranting about justice and honor and how horrible America was and stuff. It wasn’t long before they got bored of my father, and shot him dead.”

The blond bit her lip, then tucked a strand of hay-colored hair behind her ear. “Then they moved onto me… I don’t remember much of what happened. I just remember a lot of pain, and then being dumped overboard. Next thing I knew, I was perfectly unharmed, but people couldn’t see me. So I deduced that I became a ghost.” She glanced off towards the side. “My father, however. He’s moved on. I don’t know why I can’t, and I don’t know much about ghosts despite being one. I can only figure that the man who killed us is still doing bad things…” She glanced up and smiled at Bam and Sae. “And you guys are the ones that can help me!”

Bam nodded, and pat Penny on the shoulder. He must’ve got chilled, though, because he instantly withdrew his hand and chuckled.

“I have a feeling I know this guy,” Bam said, then glanced at Sae. “It’s the Kim clan. They’re really awful against foreigners, especially Americans. They have ties with North Korea.”

Sae nodded, feeling rather sad after listening to Penny’s story. “We’ll do anything we can to help you, Penny.” He said, sitting up in earnest. “I mean, we’re basically after the same guy.”

Penny’s blue eyes widened in excitement, and she looked between the cousins. “Really? You guys would help me?”

Bam laughed, “After being invisible for twenty years, I think I would be ready to be helped, too.”

“Besides,” Sae’s smile softened. “I want to reunite you with your dad.”

A tear shone in Penny’s eye, and she smiled brightly. “If I could hug you guys without you dying of pneumonia I so would right now!”

Sae chuckled lightly and nodded. “All right. So I guess that means you’ll be coming with us on our adventure?”

Penny nodded, and then frowned. “But… I’ve never been able to leave the cruise ship.”

The Korean teen bit his lip at that. Yeah, that would definitely be an issue. Bam perked up.

“Well then, let’s bring a piece of the ship with us.” He stood up and moved to the kitchen, where he grabbed a chair and placed it underneath the giant chandelier hanging from the ceiling. He reached up and plucked a piece of crystal from it, then dug around in some drawers.

Sae raised a brow, wondering what his crazy cousin was doing, and then stared as Bam presented what looked like a make-shift earring.

“This should work, right?”

Penny stared at it for a moment, then smiled brightly. “I think it should!”

“It better,” Sae said darkly. “I’m NOT going to be carrying a toilet seat around.”

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

That afternoon, everyone was coming off of the ship onto dry land, some people joining families, others heading towards rental cars. Bam and Sae exited, earning a few strange looks from people, and the younger male grunted in annoyance.

“Was this really necessary?” He asked, pointing at the toilet seat that was currently decorating his neck.

Bam shrugged. “It was original with the ship. If the earring doesn’t work, then that will.”

Penny giggled, and Sae glared at her – which made a stranger in the distance hurriedly shuffle away, thinking that Sae was glaring at them – and then Bam sighed a bit.

“Penny, can you tell which of these you have a stronger connection to?” Bam asked as they moved towards the parking lot. Penny was hovering closely behind them, causing the hairs on the backs of their necks stand up.

“Well to be honest,” she giggled. “I connect with both of them. I just wanted to see a toilet seat around Kicks’ neck~”

Sae growled and tore the toilet seat off, throwing it at Penny – it merely went through her and clattered on the ground, causing more people to stare at the couple oddly.

“Jerk.” Sae growled, and Bam chuckled as he glanced at the earring that was dangling from Sae’s slightly red ear lobe.

“You know,” the older man said. “You didn’t have to pierce your ear for that. I already have mine pierced…”

Sae grumbled. “I feel kinda responsible. Shut up. I was gonna get them pierced eventually.”

“Aww~” Penny slung her arms around Sae’s neck, who shivered violently but was otherwise getting used to her presence. “You’re so sweet!” She placed a kiss to his cheek that made his lips turn blue, and she giggled as Bam chuckled and shook his head.

“All right, Shadow will be waiting with a car.” He glanced around and spotted a dark figure, and smiled. “Ah, there he is.”

Shadow was wearing all black, and absolutely none of his skin was visible. Not even his face. It was like he was completely shrouded in darkness. He would seem creepy to a lot of people, but since Sae felt the general relation between them, he was okay. Penny smiled, though Shadow couldn’t see her, and followed the boys into the limousine, making herself comfortable on the opposite side of the cousins.

“All right. We’re going to our headquarters.” Bam turned and smiled at Sae. “You should feel at home, Prince.”

Sae rolled his eyes and shrugged. “Whatever. First thing we’re doing is getting a shower like the one on the ship.”

Bam chuckled, and Penny was busy staring out of the tinted window at the scenery as it rolled by. Sae felt oddly comfortable. His family was expanding, he was making new friends, and he was getting closer to their goal of regaining justice in the world. Bam, Penny, Shadow. These people were his companions now and he couldn’t be more grateful for them.

Something cold hit his face and he sputtered, glaring at Penny who was whistling and looking away innocently.

“Your touch is like ice!”

She giggled and stuck out her tongue, and Bam poured himself a flute of champagne.

Yeah, Sae was definitely starting to get used to this.
