chapter five
When Tia awoke, she found herself laying somewhere soft and warm. Her head felt a bit fuzzy, and it took a few second for her to remember what had happened. Leo had drugged her! Why?! Where was she?!
Hastily, she sat up and peered around the room. She was on a bed, and sitting on the nightstand beside it was Xandir, smirking down at her. Then she noticed she was entirely naked. She screeched, and grabbed up the blanket to cover herself.
“Did you enjoy your little nap?” He asked.
“You! What am I doing here? What do you want with me?” She demanded.
“You’re a bright girl, I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to guess…” Tia noticed he seemed thoroughly amused. What did he want with her? The pieces quickly fell into place in her mind. He’d had her kidnapped, and she was naked, in what appeared to be his bedroom.
“You…you want to keep me as a slave?!” She cried, outraged. “You can’t! They’ll catch you! Everyone will be looking for me, and you’ll go to jail!”
He just laughed.
Tia didn’t see what was so funny. He couldn’t get away with this, right? The police would be called to look for her, and her friends knew that he’d been interested in her, and there’d be a search of some kind…
“You’d better let me go right now, or you’re going to get sent to jail!” She tried to make her voice sound intimidating, but it didn’t work out to well.
“Oh really?” He asked, still smiling.
“Yes really!”
She tried to get up and make a dash for the door, only to find it was impossible. Their was some kind of cuff and chain around her right ankle, and it wouldn’t come off!
“Oh, I don’t think so…” Said Xandir, “It seems this is all going to go far more smoothly than I’d originally planned. How fortunate I called your boss right after you hung up on me. Instead of having to go through all the trouble of getting you some place quiet and abducting you myself, he offered to deliver you right here, as well as have his nephew down at the station take care of all the police work…and for such a reasonable price, too…”
“My friends will know it was you! They all know you gave me that bracelet, and tried to ring me!” She told him.
“And what are they going to do? Tell the police? Find out where I live and break in here and rescue you?” He asked, still smiling at her. “I’m hardly concerned. Three of them will be offered high paying jobs at new restaurant in Melbourne which doesn’t exist soon enough, anyway. Really, you’re lucky I wanted you, or you might have wound up in a Japanese love hotel, or European hunting park. So you see, my sweet kitten, you’ll be staying right here, and nobody will be doing anything about it.” With every word, Tia’s heart sank lower and lower.
“Leo wouldn’t do such a thing….” She said softly, not wanting to believe him.
“Oh no? He was the one who drugged you and brought you here. Mr Gavinos has been in the business for years now, I hear. Did you think he was your friend?”
Tia’s eyes began to fill with tears.
“Anyway, there’s no need for you to concern yourself with such things,” He continued, “What happens now is all up to you. You can behave yourself, and have a nice comfortable life here, or you can be a bad little kitten, and you’ll have a miserable time, and then, because I don’t want a bad little kitten, I’ll sell you back to Mr Gavinos, and his associates will find a buyer for you. Well, I have some things to do, so I’ll leave you to consider things for a while…you can scream and cry for help, if you like, this place is well sound-proofed…”
With that, he strode casually out of the room, leaving her still chained to the bed.
Crying, Tia desperately tried to work herself free. This couldn’t happen to her! She wouldn’t let such a thing happen to her! Or to her friends…the things he’d said about Leo hadn’t really been true, had they? He might just be trying to scare her…
It was impossible to remove the chain from either herself or the bed. There were pretty little silver locks, which she miserably noted were decorated in the same style as her bracelet, the only thing aside from the cuff she was still wearing.
She took it off and threw it across the room, then started screaming at the top of her lungs.
She screamed for help, she screamed at Xandir, she screamed at Leo, and she just plain screamed.
Soon, her throat was raw, and she collapsed onto the bed, her small body heaving with sobs.
What if everything he said was true? Nobody would come help her! Amille, Cherry, Primula, Apple and Shev were all in danger… she had to help them! But here she was kidnapped… there had to be a way to get free. He’d said he had some things to do. Maybe he’d left the apartment…or house… or whatever this place was.
First things first, she had to try to keep a rational head.
She took some deep breaths, and tried to stop crying.
She needed to think.
How could she escape? How could she escape… she didn’t know. She didn’t know…so…she needed more information to figure out the answer!
Feeling slightly more hopeful, she looked carefully around the room.
The wall to her right had a large window, but heavy curtains blocked any view of outside. If she could get free of the bed, maybe she could open it and jump out, but for all she knew so far, she might be jumping to her death. The door Xandir had gone out from was large, and looked sturdy, but if she had something big and hard, could she perhaps break it open? On the left wall, there were two other doors, the same style. Where did they go? Were they locked? They looked like the kind that could be locked…
The bed faced a large holovision screen mounted on the far wall. She could see the remote on a coffee table in front of the bed, out of her reach. Also out of her reach was a chest of drawers, with a laptop sitting on top of it. If she could just reach the laptop, and it didn’t require a password, she’d be able to call for help online! But it was all the way over there, on the other side of the room. She was confined to one side of the large bed.
Once again, Tia examined the cuff and chain which held her prisoner. This time, she systematically examined and tested every link, hoping that by some miracle one would be faulty, and she could break loose. No such luck.
The room was large, with a high ceiling, and everything in it looked expensive. It looked like Xandir was richer than she’d expected. He’d have to be, if he could afford to have had the room sound proofed as he claimed.
Listening carefully, Tia couldn’t hear any noise from outside at all.
She was used to hearing the sounds of the city… but they were distinctly absent here. Of course, she might be outside of the city… she didn’t even really know how long she’d been asleep! She suspected it had only been a couple of hours- it was still bright outside, she could see sunlight coming in under the curtains.
But for all Tia knew, it could actually have been a whole day and night since her kidnapping. She could have been taken to some place out in the country, far away from any noise or help!
If that was the case, then there should be some small amount of noise to be heard if the room wasn’t soundproofed… birds singing? Planes occasionally flying overhead? Farm animals…mooing, perhaps?
There was nothing to be heard.
There was no way for her to get free immediately, and the room seemed soundproof, which meant her poor throat had been damaged for no reason earlier.
She would have to wait, and watch carefully for her opportunity to get away.
Tia no choice but to try to avoid making Xandir angry- she didn’t want to get hurt if she could help it, or ruin her chances by encouraging him to keep her chained up as such.
Hopefully, if she did whatever he wanted and didn’t try to make any trouble, he’d be less cautious of her.
Then he would be more inclined to slip up and give her a way to escape.
But what would being good involve? Having…sex…with him?
Tia didn’t want that to happen, but she wasn’t quite naïve enough to think he’d brought her to his bedroom naked and chained up so they could have a tea-party together.
She could only hope that he wouldn’t do anything too perverted and disgusting to her.
Back at school, when she used to use the internet on the school’s computers, she’d visited various H-mod related sites, and heard of all kinds of shocking things happening to enslaved men and women.
Her main goal in life had been to get a good education and record so she could have a nice job in a safe place so something like this would never happen to her.
And look what had happened!
Not even a month out of school, and here she was, kidnapped, naked and chained up in some strange man’s bedroom. A total failure! Tears welled up in her eyes again, and she curled up beneath the blankets and cried.
Hastily, she sat up and peered around the room. She was on a bed, and sitting on the nightstand beside it was Xandir, smirking down at her. Then she noticed she was entirely naked. She screeched, and grabbed up the blanket to cover herself.
