Quick Fic: Theme: Chocolate
Asakura Orochi pouted as he reached for the box of chocolates. “Give them to me Johan,” the boy said, and then pouted as he reached for the box of chocolates again.
The older of the two, a sandy brown haired young man, grinned as he shook his head. He was taller than the boy, so keeping the chocolates out of reach was a very simple task. “No way, you have to read that first. Then I might, give you a chocolate.”
The younger of the two glared, and then sat down at the desk, where he proceeded to glare at a simple blue notebook. How did Johan expect him to concentrate on reading when all he wanted was the chocolates? He sighed loudly and opened the notebook to the instructed page.
“Th-The…dog, it ran and then it….” he frowned as he tried to pronounce the word. “Q-Quickly?” When Johan nodded he smiled proudly. “Quickly ran down the street and bit the boy’s arm.”
He frowned when he was finished reading the sentence. Why would a dog bite someone? Was it a bad dog? Had the boy done something to make the dog angry?
“Is something wrong?” Johan asked as he set the box of chocolates down. “Is it too hard?”
Asakura shook his head as grabbed the box of chocolates and opened it. A few of the chocolates were half eaten. Thankfully, those were the ones that had the nasty pink filling inside; those were not the ones he liked. ‘Which ones is coconut’ he thought to himself as he pushed down the middle of one of the candies.
“It’s a strange thing,” the boy said as he broke one of the chocolates in half. It was not a coconut filled one so he placed it into the box. “Why did the dog bite the boy?”
Johan picked up the chocolate that Asakura had placed back into box and ate it. “He bit him because he was a bad dog.”
“Why was he a bad dog?” the boy asked.
“I don’t know,” Johan answered as he ate another chocolate. “Maybe he was just a bad dog. Or maybe the kid did something to him.”
Asakura finally found a coconut filled chocolate. “Why would they leave something like that out of the story?”
Johan shrugged again, and then grinned as he patted the boy’s head. “I’m glad you asked. For your next assignment, I want you to rewrite the story and include why you think the dog bit the boy.”
Biting into a chocolate that he thought was coconut, Asakura groaned when it turned out to be one of the pink filled ones.
