chapter 5
Seven years earlier
“Mom I am going to meet the new boy next door wither or not you like it, and if you won’t
watch Lexi I’ll take her with me” Kita told her mom as she was leaving the house with
Alexia on her hip.
“That will make a great first impression, a 16 year old with a one year old daughter, I
can just see him liking you now” her mother sarcastically replied.
“You know what mom I don’t really care what you think,” Kita said as she left the house.
Kita went over to the next house where she heard yelling.
“Alana I’m going over to meet the people next door, there was a guy and a girl who both
looked about our age” Nate yelled.
“Fine Nate but I’m not watching Angel so you’re just going to have to take her with you,
and I really don’t think they’re going to want to be friends with a 17 year old who has
a one year old daughter” Alana yell to him.
Nate put Angel in her stroller then said “I guess we’ll just have to see” and took Angel
outside to find Kita standing With Lexi smiling.
“Hi I’m Kita Johnson and this is my one year old daughter Alexia, and I’ll be your
friend” Kita told him.
“Hi I’m Nate McKenzie and this is my one year old daughter Angel, and I guess you heard
me and my sister talking” Nate replied to Kita.
“Yes I did but don’t worry, me and my mom had almost the same conversation, so do you
want to somewhere and talk?”
“Sure Kita, I would like that but you may want to get a stroller for Alexia” Nate
suggested to Kita.
“Yes that was my thought exactly because she does not want to be held right now, I think
she wants to meet Angel but she can do that afterwards” Kita whispered to Nate laughing
while looking at the smile on her daughter’s face.
Kita went into her house with Alexia to get the stroller. Before she could leave however
her Twin brother Luke just shook his head laughed and said looks like you found another
poor sucker to talk to you, maybe I should warn him of your track recorded, because we
both know you won’t. Kita just walked away trying not to cry wondering how her own twin
brother could be so cruel.
When she got outside she put Alexia in her stroller and walked over to Nate and Angel.
“Hey your back are you ready to go wherever it is your taking us?” Nate asked
“Yes I am ready and I am taking us to a local park not far from here so that the two
girls can play together and we can talk and get to know each other.” Kita replied to
Nate.
On the way to the park they did not say much to each other, Nate teased Kita saying that
the park was not close by that she lied to him. Kita just smiled and said we’ll be there
soon so stop bugging me. The whole time the two girls were just looking at each other
smiling and laughing.
When they got to the park Kita spread out a blanket on the grass then she put Alexia on
the blanket. Nate then put Angel on the blanket beside Alexia, who started smiling and
tried to grab Angel.
Kita sat down beside her daughter and just smiled happy to see her daughter happy with a
child her own age,
