Case two. Shadow of Fear. part two
****
A small boy ran past the towering columns of sand-stone. His feet were bloody from running bare-footed on the sharp stones that was supposed the floor. A chilling voice rang throughout the air, causing the small boy to cry out in fear and squirt out small spheres of tears. A formless black within black shadow swallowed up everything behind the running boy, moving like the wind to the same to the boy.
“Run, run, little boy. Run as fast as you can. I’m going to catch you….”
The boy couldn’t scream as the shadow swallowed him up.

For the past two hours -it must have been at least to longer then that but we had started counting the minutes from the time Mister Sasha Rochelle could fathom the essence of time after having enough sugar in his system-, the cherry haired vampire had stationed himself inside the detective’s little office as the detective himself was busying himself with the mundane work of being the Rochelle of Lex Domingo.
Keeping track of the Supernatural population of his city. Which was what were the tiny little green dots on the city grid on the computer screen. The little yellow dots were humans and the little orange dots were animals. If you were wondering, that is.
The vampire was at first content with just listening to CD player that belonged to his grey little mouse but the music selection wasn’t the kind he would normally listen to. He gave up trying to listen to that crap- er music, so he decided to organize the mess that was Sasha’s desk.
That alone took over three hours. The grey haired man woke fully up as the older man was finishing up the difficult task. Instead of telling him that he didn’t like it when people just mess with his things, he simply rolled back to his desk and put everything as actually as it was and rolled right back to his computer.
They both just glared at each other, continue to do so as Cole re-organize the desk but Sasha came up behind him and undo what he has done. Cole let out a low growl before turning around, capturing the pale wrists in his silvery hands.
“Let go.” But the vampire didn’t care to obey but instead he leaned forward far too quickly for someone that just fully woken up and locked their lips in a powerful bruising kiss.
Sasha did mumbled some words of protest but they were quickly drown out as his wrists were being pulled up above to be level with his cheeks as the bloodsucker turned them around and leaned the poor man over his own desk.
“What…are… you… doing?” He didn’t waste anything to ask the question as soon his mouth was freed, breathing in between his words.
The cherry-haired man just smirked as his knee opened unconsciously willing legs and slide in right between them. He allowed a very good friend of his to answer the already flushed detective’s question.
He chuckled as he saw those blue-steeled eyes widen in awing shock and those thin but slightly swollen lips let out a soft gasp. But he saw the white-pink scar over the dimly much paler eye. His possessive nature showed up in a growl, already thinking of the million ways he would kill the bastard that dared to harm his little grey mouse.
“Who did that to you?” His hand still gripped tightly around the pale wrist as he pointed with his finger knuckle at the useless eye.
Feeling ashamed at his secret, Sasha just turned his head to the side, hiding the flawed eye from the fiery golden-amber eyes behind fallen steel grey hair and against the papers on the desk.
“I did it. All right. I did it, so just do you mind letting me go.” Oh, he could hear the lie in the man’s voice.
He lowered his face so his mouth was on the shell of the man’s ear, the one that wasn’t covered in little silver rings but just in two earrings and one long steel pole through the entire top of the ear, and whispered his eerie words.
“I will find out who had hurt you and personally rip their head and limbs off. “ Then he moved his mouth down to kiss the exposed neck. He growled again when he felt the body under him tensed when he kissed the little runt’s neck.
Cole moved back to see what a Rochelle look like when they get scared. He didn’t really liked this look all that much. Not as much as he once did before actually meeting one for the first time.
At that moment, Reeve had chosen that time to enter into the office.
“Umm, you got a call. Mr. Rochelle. A Missus Weiser?” The brunet tried to not notice the fact that his new boss was trapped under the broad body of a undead man on an old desk. He didn’t make when said boss looked at him upside down from his current position and just left with a harsh door slam.
Of course, Reeve was thinking as he fast walked back to his safe place behind the simple computer desk was this; How was he going to work with THAT image stuck in his mind? Work just gotten har- worse. Yeah, worse.

The police was everywhere at the hospital. Clearly, someone thought that the boneheads in blue could figure out what was wrong with the children in the pediatric ward.
Idiot.
He pulled a Newport cigarette out of an almost empty pack and padded his pockets, both pants and coat for a lighter. A passing nurse in light blue scrubs told him that he couldn’t smoke in here. All Sasha did was give him a ’So what’ stare but he chose to follow the rules for once and put the white stick back in its pack, only because he couldn’t find the stupid plastic thing.
“Sa-sa!” Only a woman that wasn’t his mother could get away with that damn nickname.
An old childhood friend and an ex-girlfriend. And her name was Selena Clash, but later on she gotten married and her name changed to Weiser.
He turned around, already armed with one of his truest of smiles and arms ready to wrapped around the redheaded woman.
“Oh, it’s been years since we last talked.” She cuddled the man for a long minute before pulling back to see how different her old friend had become.
She had used to have free-flowing curly hair of fire but maturity seemed to straighten it out a bit and she had a glow about her which after handling two pregnant women in his lifetime, experience told the detective that she was soon going to be a mother.
He chuckled at that thought when as children, she was whining about becoming a mother and had to stay at home like her own mom had done to take care of the family.
“Yes, it has. And it would seem that you had changed a lot.”
She shrugged with a smirk threaten to consume her face but her olive skin turned serious as she leaned in closer and spoke softly.
“I have heard about what happen with Roselyn and your family. I’m so sorry.” Her honey brown eyes showed him the pity that he so didn’t need or want and he pulled away, pulling on his armor of ice-cold rage.
“So what’s going on with the kiddies?” Sasha felt bad for causing to wince at the bite in his voice but it had been two years and never once had he asked for someone to pity him.
Selena quickly put on her professional face as her old friend had done and began filling him on the strange happenings with the children that had come into her part of the hospital. That was until she caught eye of the strange and very deathly pale man with the bright cherry hair in a coat that was way out of season, tapping at the hanging picture frames of the doctors that were in charge.
“Who’s he?” She asked, nodding her head at Cole. But the grey-haired man just groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose in order to get rid of a headache that was going to come no matter what he does.
“Just a pest. Just make sure that you have a few guards keeping an eye on wherever you keep your blood.” He pulled her away, not really up to tell the full story on how he had gained a cherry-haired shadow. He didn’t know how himself.

The children were stuck in a coma-like sleep, all with blacken sunken eyes, almost like someone pulled their eyes in and used a black sharpie to block out their closed eyelids, shock white hair. Not just on their heads but on their arms and legs and other places where children had hair. Something had frightened them so badly that every hair on their bodies’ just turned white. And according to Selena, every passing day, they becoming more and more like mummies without the protective bandages wrapped around their bodies.
And it was only week two.
“Two had flat-line just last night. We don’t know how but their brains just went from rapid movements, their hearts beating like a rabbits to just totally stillness.” She watched from behind with arms wrapped loosely around her little tummy bulge as the blue-eyed man gently examined each of the twelve victims on little white beds and snapping photographs with his little digital camera.
Each child had marking, very red and raw like a bug-bite on the nape of their necks but unlike a common bug-bite, this marking had a tunnel forming in the middle of the mark. Which meant that something had entered into each child.
“It’s a parasite form of a démon de cauchemar.” He looked behind him at the confused doctor. “A nightmare demon, or more commonly known as a boogie-man.”
“Wha-” A machine at the bed next to the one that Sasha was currently examining went crazy with warning beeps. Selena quickly called for assistance and rushed to the little girl’s side.
But she held back with a single arm that belonged to a very grown up version of her Sa-sa.
“She’s already gone.” he muttered as he walked to the dead child’s bed and harshly turned her neck so he could see the bite mark. Thin grey eyebrow raised up in surprise as a small little brown-puke colored worm-centipede forced its fat slimy self out that narrow little tunnel.
“Get me a something to hold him!” He barked out an order as he used the balls of his fingers to pinched around the head of the ugly little worm and pulled it all the way out of the dead girl’s neck.
Selena just stood there wide-eyed at the little creature but another shout forced her out of her stupor and she called for a cup to be brought.
Sasha bought the squirming creature very close to his eyes since vanity overruled the idea of pulling out his thick eyeglasses and actually using them in front of other people. His eyesight must be very bad since, while he was examining only the front part of the hideous thing, he didn’t even see the back-end opening to unleash its stinger onto the heel of his hand.
“Jesus Fucking Christ!” his fingers let go of their grip but the creature’s stringer had burrowed under his skin so it didn’t dropped to the ground.
His vision had blurred as the room had begun to spin around like a top going at 500 miles per hour. There were people shouting as a pair of strong arms tried to keep him on his feet but quickly everything turned black and very quiet.
