Day Two

“Huh?” He was on his way to talk to her. He was tied of waiting. He Taron wanted to go home with his prize. And after a dream like he had? Well that was self explanatory as to why. “Starfyre?”

He could have sworn he was just with her and then, like magic, it was morning. He found himself walking down the hall to her room after a rough nights sleep. Heavy breathing was coming from it which made him pause.

‘What is she doing in there?’ His thoughts started to run wild after his dream. This could prove to be a ‘good’ visit if he caught her doing something her parents would think was ‘bad’. Clearing his throat. “Starfyre?” Taron called out.

Receiving no answer, Taron called her name again, placing his hand on the slightly open door. "Starfyre?" he called lightly, not really wanting her to answer, pushing the door open more. He was hoping to catch her in the middle of something that she shouldn't be doing. The door opened before him, and he glanced upon her bed, seeing… everything fading to black? 'What's happening?' he wondered, finding himself floating in a dark void.

“Displaced..This is thine only warning.” His voice came darkly.

From the blackness of the above his dragon figure appeared and floated downwards before flashing brightly. From the light he stepped. Fou-Lu’s white hair hung to his shoulders and his eyes pierced the very soul.

“Do not persist in seeking what is ours. Thou shalt find trouble in thy path if thou dost persist.” Fou-Lu raised a hand and pointed at him. To his side, Starfyre appeared kneeling at his feet. “She is ours.”

Starfyre glanced up at him. Gasping, she shifted on her knees. Fou-Lu could only smirk. He knew what he was doing. He was baiting this mortal fool.

"I'm dreaming," Taron said. "I have to be dreaming." Strange people appearing from dragons, speaking archaic 'thine and thou,' making people appear from nowhere; it had to be a dream. And as it was a dream, he could pretty much do whatever he wanted. "Well, I guess I have to persist, then," Taron replied.

“Thou hast chosen.”

It was all Fou-Lu said before closing his hand. The land under Taron faded so that he fell into the pitch of the black. Starfyre gasped and quickly stood in time to see the man fade from view.

“You said you wouldn’t...h..hurt..” Starfyre trembled. She could barely finish a sentence. “Master...”

“We said we wouldn’t if the fool stopped.” Fou-Lu motioned her to him. “Tis time to take our leave. We tire of this mortal place.”

“Master...” Starfyre frowned. She didn’t want to but she had to listen. “Is..he..”

“Nay..he is not. There is no need to finish thine sentence.” Fou-Lu pulled her against him. “We return home.”

They faded into the darkness together. Fou-Lu returned to his home and to see to the slow process of punishing the mortal fool.

Wyndia

“Easy...don’t move. You have been hurt pretty bad.” Her voice soft. She had golden hair and pixi like wings upon a closer look. “Hey..I said lay down.” Nina pushed him back to the sleeping mat. “ Ryu has gone to get a healing herb for you.”

Taron moaned, giving up on trying to sit up as he looked at the woman over him. "I must still be dreaming," he said. "You have wings." But… one wasn't supposed to actually be hurt in dreams. They would wake up. So… how could he be dreaming still? "Healing herbs? What about regular medications? Tylenol or aspirin?"

“What? That is our medicine...”She chuckled. “We found you on the side of the road. Your wounds were bad but Ryu cast heal on you to repair the major damage. But..we ran out of herbs so he has gone to collect some more from a shop while I tend you.” Nina smiled. “So lay still. Because all I know is attack and assist magic. I couldn’t really cast heal to help you if you hurt your self before he got back.”

"Herbs and magic? Whatever are you talking about" Taron shifted his eyes, trying to get a better idea of his surroundings. "Really, I think someone needs to take a little break and step back into what everyone else calls reality. You're starting to sound too much like a video game."

“Oh dear..you must be under a confusion spell too.” Nina shook her head. “Should have saved a pancea.”

His surroundings were a tent. It was a fashioned one of heavy cloth on the floor and the ceilings, just like old days. And, like in games, there was even a table inside of it. Nina had a small scepter at her side. Her dress pink, she wasn’t bad for someone that was from a video game.

"I'm not confused, and you… you have to be deluded," Taron said. "This is a game, and you're bonkers to think otherwise. Attractive, but bonkers. Why is there a table inside a tent? I mean what purpose does it serve, and how is it feasible?" He shook his head lightly. "And… what are you planning on doing with a pacnea?"

“I am the royal princess Nina of Wyndia. You will address me with respect as I DID help save you and secondly, it is Pancea. It cures status changes. Status changes like YOU are obviously having.” Her Scepter end glowed as she held it right at his nose. “DO not test my attack magic to get your mind back to sanity, sir.” Her eyes dared him to make a move against her.

"Right, sorry," Taron said. Scepters were not supposed to glow, and that one was, he was certain of that. "I'm Taron, and I obviously am someplace I shouldn't be. Hence, my thinking this was a dream. I do apologize." He wanted to laugh and cry inside. Somehow, he was actually inside the game, despite knowing that it shouldn't be possible.

“Obviously the gods have decided otherwise.” Ryu Entered. “They tend to do this a lot.” The blue haired, handsome youth was built and had a perfect face. His eyes were sky blue and he was tall. “I have the herbs. I picked up other supplies so we can break camp in the morning.”

“Good.” Nina backed away from Taron. “You can heal him. And I think he may need a pancea..because he is about to irritate me.”

The normally sweet princess of the games seemed to have areal personality that the scenes didn’t show. That might be disturbing to those who knew the game like he did. Breath of Fire Nina? What had that white haired freak done to him?

Taron shook his head. Nina was here, as was Ryu. He assumed the other to be Fou-Lu. But, if that was true, why was Starfyre with him, apparently his slave? And what was his role here? "Look, we sort of have a little problem," he said. "Well, maybe not so little. He's awake, and he has my… he's got a friend."

“He?” Nina turned. “Who he?” Blinking, she confused her self. “Er..he who? What?”

“I think she means who is the he that is awake.” Ryu asked for her.

That was right. They didn't know right off. "Fou-Lu, the dragon God. He's awake now, and, he has my friend as his personal slave. Least, I think. I know he has her."

“That is a legend from across the ocean. The capitol of the imperial army.” Nina placed hands on her hips. “Wyndia legend and teachings say that on a certain night, the emperor god, first emperor of the capitol and a dragon will wake. But that legend is five hundred years old.”

“He could be right though. Since when have we dragons ever been easy?” Ryu smirked. “No..seriously..if he has her than yes, that is a large problem. But luckily we can help as we are on our way to the capitol city to look for Elina, Nina’s sister. You can come with us...if..you help us and stop making Nina rather annoyed by saying...stuff.” He chose his words carefully as Nina was right there.

Help? What could he do? He wasn't from this… setting, so he doubted that he could use magic and it was doubtful that he knew anything about using weapons. So far the only thing he had managed to do was somehow provoke Nina, and that wasn't intentional. Yeah, his skill abilities weren't looking to good at the moment. "Whatever it takes, I'll help," he said.

“Good. Now..it’s late and we need rest. Tomorrow we head to the check point to try and get across so we can attempt to find a boat and then head across to the imperial capitol.” Ryu set stuff down. “Oh and here. Healing herb..it will finish off the healing spell.” He tossed it to Taron.

“Always take charge..” Nina giggled.

Taron caught the herb, glancing down at it. How exactly was he supposed to use it? Slap it on like some sort of bandage or eat it? And sleep. That sounded good, actually. Though, if this really was a dream and he went to sleep, when he woke up, would he wake up in the dream still, or would he actually wake up? Would he actually sleep, or would there be some short musical fanfare and it would instantly be morning? Too many questions roamed through his mind at the moment. "Rest does sound good."

Fou-Lu’s Temple

“We have come home, pet.” Fou-Lu Pulled close to him. Her hands met his chest as he did. “ T’was time to leave that place and return so that our plans for the capitol will prevail.”

“Master...” Starfyre frowned. “I..”

“Hold..” Fou-Lu turned. His dire wolf like guardian was standing at the entrance. “Won-qu”

"My Lord," the Dire wolf replied, lowering it's forepaw slightly. "I bring word of the Humans in the Imperial Capital. They seem to think that the telling of your rising is but a story, a fable, a myth. There is but little faith in you rising again, My Lord. They have been hexing the towns, seeking to rule what is rightfully yours." If it were at all possible, a smirk played at the wolf's lips. "I daresay that they are justly deserving of having your wrath brought upon them."

“Hexing..” He glanced at Starfyre.” Is this matter part of what thou hast spoken before?”

“Yes..Master.”Starfyre nodded. “In the game..they would sacrifice someone from that particular place and use this machine to put..some kind of..hex on it.”

“We see.” Fou-Lu pondered. “We shall return shortly. Won-qu, guard what is ours.” He pulled away from Starfyre and walked to the exit. “Eat, pet. Thou shalt need energy when We return.” He said before disappearing.

“Master...” Starfyre caught her breath. He hadn’t left her before.

Won-Qu turned to Starfyre, walking back and forth slowly. She was different somehow, especially if she had knowledge of things that he had only learned of. Before hand knowledge, apparently. "I would suggest doing as he says, you will need your strength."

“I...” Starfyre shivered upon glancing at Won-Qu. There was just something about him that always made her tremble. Then again he had thirty thousand hp in the game and strong magic. “Right..” She turned and walked off slowly towards the main hall. “Please excuse me..”

She hoped he wouldn’t follow her because the strange looks he gave her were hard enough to deal with. For the first time she was seeing how dependant on Fou-Lu that she had become. It made her people shy. Good and bad but mostly not her normal self. This whole thing was taking getting used to.

‘How did you know about the hexing?” Won-Qu’s curiosity could not be staved. He followed behind her slowly. “You seem to know much...”

“It’s hard to explain...I guess that’s just another reason that Master keeps me.” Starfyre turned lightly to see him following. “But I’m worried...to be honest. He hasn’t fully recovered and...I just have a bad feeling in my gut.” Her hand touched her slightly round stomach. The baby inside was growing healthily. “Maybe it’s just the pregnancy but..that feeling just won’t go away.”

"Pregnancy?" Won-Qu asked. "You are with child?" That was surprising news. He could smell Fou-Lu on her, but that was to be expected. And of course, it was his child, given that he knew his Master would not have taken her had she been with someone else's child. "I would not worry too much. My Lord is more than capable of taking care of himself. Were I to care, I would be worried about those that seek to gain power of what is his."

“I am pregnant..yes. His..to answer the silent question.” She stepped further away to a table that had fruit on it. “Fruit..”

Starfyre’s wanting to be away from him only provoked his curiosity in the strange girl. She glanced back and saw him still. Quickly she turned and sat at the table. Starfyre’s words weren’t much at this point.

"Surely you didn't think that My Lord would have sustenance that was unsuited for you awaiting, did you?" Won-Qu looked pointedly at her. "You do not like me, do you? I can tell that you do not want to be near me. I can smell it on you. Why? You do not fear me, do you? I would not harm you, as My Lord has instructed me to watch over you."

“I have no reason to fear you.” Starfyre answered honestly. “And wether I like you or not is moot Master instructed and you listen no matter what I think. I could say that you are overly curious about me and that I know you are weak to Holy attacks but that is moot as well, is it not?”

"That fact of the matter is, yes," Won-Qu replied, "though how you know such knowledge isn't. How is it that you know so much about me, when others do not?" His curiosity about her was fully piqued now, whereas it had only been mild interest before. She knew way more about things than anyone should.

“If the Master desires you know such things, he will tell you how. Until then..it is not my place to say or give his information away.” Starfyre grunted. “And you can go..outside this room..you don’t have to be right here. I am not leaving.”

"I could," Won-Qu said. "However, I do not wish to. My Lord told me to guard you, and that is what I shall do, not leaving your side until He tells me otherwise." He wasn't going to leave her alone, especially not now that he knew she carried his Lord's child.
