Chapter 5
Thanks for the comments and reviews.
Warren had taken a major reaming from his coach for skipping out on practice early. His mind was half way into the game for the next day and the other half hoping that the interview would be over as soon as possible.
Rooming by the photography room, he caught sight of a body. A body that he knew very well.
He stopped inside. “Oh hey!”
“Hey yourself.” Jace replied looking up from the scattered photos in his possession.
“So, what are you doing here?”
“Well, I was developing some photos…You know those Newspaper brats can become such drama queens when deadlines are approaching--”
“Tell me about it. Coach is going crazy about tomorrow’s game.”
“Well, your coach might me going crazy, but I’ve got no doubts that you’ll kick ass tomorrow, Mr. Superstar.” Jace’s lips curled into a soft smile.
Warren ducked his hiding to hide his huge grin and flushing face. “Thanks.” He mumbled.
Jace picked up his bag and began moving towards the door. “Well, I guess I should get out of here.”
Warren let Jace pass him through the door and the two began a pleasantly silent walk down the empty school hallways. Once they opened the doors at the main entrance, Warren had his suspicion from earlier confirmed.
“Shit.” Jace muttered.
“What?” Warren replied as he stared at the pouring sheets of rain.
“My car is in the shop, so my mom is going to pick me up….Shit, I don’t want to wait in the rain.”
There was no hesitation, just acting on impulse. “I’ll give you a ride.” Warren blurted.
Jace looked at him with doubtful raised brows, “You sure you want to? I could just wait for my mom.”
“No! It’s no problem.” Warren could have smacked himself. His dad was going to kill him if he showed up late for the interview. Lucky for him, he’d already showered before he left football practice.
