At Peace
I tempt to say my mind's at peace
the rain has called again,
I sit alone and look out beyond
and wait for a special friend.
Every drop that beats upon my skin
reminds me of how and when,
she last lay complete in my arms
a dream to have again.
The sounds I hear repeat in my mind
this beating of the rain,
I feel her presence, she's always near,
the dream remains the same.
In pools of water I sense her beauty
it ripples through my mind,
she comes to me, only in the rain
and spends the shortest time.
The rain has called for all to see
and smell of freshest air,
that I'm at peace within myself
no matter how unfair.
