"I haven't seen you in so long," the man said. He looked as it he was trying hard not to offend me. "I'm so glad to know you remember."
My eyes flickered on and off and another memory flashed into my head. No love making, no fits of rage, no slamming doors, or screming at each other. It was a wedding. An elaborately decorated hall, a flowing white dress, roses. It was Darren and I, staring into each others eyes.
I gasped, "Why are you here, Darren?" I asked trembling at the new memory, "Are you here to take my power?" Like you tried so long ago?"
"No!" Darren dropped his arms and stepped towards me.
"Darren!" Vile stepped outside and faced Darren, "Get away from Jennifer! There is no way you will get her power!"
"Brian," Darren stood straight and stiff, "A shame, Jennifer, to see that you still listen to his lies."
"Don't listen to him," Vile glared at Darren, "He is trying to trick you. Remember, he betrayed your kingdom, he betrayed you."
"He's wronge!" Darren still stood stiff with his jaws clenched. "He's the one that is lying to you!"
"What makes ou think I'll believe someone I just met over someone I know and care about?" I said and walked over to Vile.
Renea and Jordan turned the corner and looked dumbfounded at the newcomer. "Hey, who the hell is this?" Renea asked. She obviously felt the tension between the newcomer and us, because she clapped her hands over her mouth just after she said it.
"Fine, don't believe me, but if you wanna ever know the truth, you'll be able to find me." Darren said. He turned around and started to fade out and dissapeared.
I turned to look at Vile. I glared at him. It took me a moment to comletly recover from the flow of memories. "Why didn't you tell me, Vile?"
"I knew that when you saw him you would remember." Vile lowered his eyes, "I thought if I told you, you would go looking for him."
"I still deserved to know the whole story." I kept glaring as Vile stood looking desperate to find the right words.
"What are you guys talking about?" Renea asked.
"Some more of my memories came back when I saw that guy." I said as I tuned to look at Renea and Jordan.
"You mean like those ones where you're screaming at some guy in a throne room?" Jordan asked.
"No, completely different." I said as my eyes teared up. I didn't know why, but I felt even more betrayed than I had before. Maybe it was the sudden feeling of deep love and then my heart being ripped and torn by the knoweledge of betrayal.
Jordan came to me and grabbed my hands into his. He knew something was terribly wrong.
Renea glared at Jordan and my hands in a short fit of jealousy. She almost looked like she could rip my head off. Then, she looked up and saw the tears in my eyes start streaming down my face. "Oh my god! Jennifer, what did you remember?"
I sobbed and tried to soak up my tears with my sleeve. "Iremember--" My voice cracked and I stiffled the tears that threatened to flood down from my eyes. "Why don't you tell them, Vile?" I let go of Jordan's hands and turned back to Vile.
He was still looking away from all of us. He looked up and straight into my eyes. "She was married to him. She loved him and he betrayed her."
"You mean that guy that was just here? You were married to him?! How could it be possible that he could betray you?" Renea said. It looked like she had a sincere concern for me.
"I don't know..." I started shaking the sobs and stiffled tears. "...I don't know. Look, I want you guys to leave. I need to figure things out by myself." Istiffened up and stopped crying.
Vile tryed to step towards me, but I pulled my head up to glare straight into his eyes, "Especially you, Vile. Go away!" I ran up to him and pushed him toward the door.
"Fine. I'm leaving. Just," Vile turned toward the door and looked away from me, "Call when you want to see me again." He walked inside and through the house to the front door. When I heard the door click shut, I turned to face Jordan and Renea.
"Jennifer...I'm so... I don't know..." Renea started. I cut her off before she could finish.
"I'm going to go to bed. You guys should leave too, It's getting late. Goodnight." I walked through the house to my room. I shut the door and fell face first onto my bed.
