My only Love
You showed me what it was to love
And showed me what dreams were made of
You showed me all the good things in life
And never once did you give me any strife
You wiped away my tears
And chased away all of my fears
You held me when I felt blue
And helped me to start anew.
I wanted to say thank you
You were someone I truly did value
I wanted to tell you that I adored your touch
I wanted to show you exactly how much
But the time has now passed.
You’re just a figment of my past
You took my heart and broke it
Underneath the sky that was starlit
You left me stranded outside the subway
Never giving me a chance to say.
You were the only one for me
I only wish that you could’ve seen
Everything that was in my heart
But you just turned away and tore it apart.
Not caring how you hurt me in the process
As I stood there in my sundress
There is nothing I can do to get you back
I already know that
I just wanted to let you know
That even though my heart was broke
You will be the only one I loved
The one I will always think of
And as I watch the Snow white doves
Flying up above
Thinking of you, My only love
