5. A sudden change
Suzie’s POV
Two more days. I think I’ll go call Jen. If I have sex, she’s going to freak out. I’ve never seen her do anything rash. I don’t even have to go in her house to find that out. All she has in her room are rows and rows of books. It could be a library. Wait. Jen’s not answering? What is she doing? Oh, still talking with David’s friend? I hope they really hit it off for this week to run smoothly. Jen invited Tony over for a meeting. The phone rang.
“Hello?’
“Hey Suzie, this is Jen.”
“Oh hey Jen, so how’s Tony?”
“Oh, well…” I waited with anticipation.
“Tony… Tony’s great.”
“Really? Jen you like him?”
“He sounds cool, I’m a bit shaken up that I get to meet your boyfriend and him, but he’s cool.”
“I heard he was as bad as David.” The line was silent.
“Hey Suzie, he sounds normal enough.” There was some yelling in the background. From what I hear from it, it was Jen’s parents telling her to practice violin.
“Sorry Suzie, I got to go.”
“Yeah, I heard.”
My cell phone rang right after and I picked it up. I saw David’s name pop up with a heart next to it.
“Hi David.” My heart throbbed. It was only two more days until we could spend a week together without any parents.
“Hi Suzie.”
“Hey, didn’t you say Jen was a Catholic girl?”
“Yes.”
“Well…” What about Jen? Does this mean I’ve been wrong this entire time? In this case, maybe both of us could use the same bed at the same time. That would be crazy.
“I’ll give the phone to Tony.” There was a quick exchange of words and laughter.
“Hi Suzie. Yeah about Jen.”
“Tony… What happened?”
“Well, I went over her house and we had fun, but I played checkers with her. Later, we played poker with some chips. I beat her and she asked if we should raise the stakes a bit.”
“So what did she raise it to?”
“Well, all I can say is we played strip poker.” That hit me like a ton of bricks. I remained speechless.
“Then, I looked at her and I couldn’t hold it any more. She locked the door and I grabbed her. She looked up at me and one thing led to another.”
“Holy shit. Jen did that?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh… Okay. Um… I have to go… I’ll see you in a couple days.”
“Okay. You don’t want to talk with David?”
“No, it’s okay.”
