Love?
James woke the next day to find himself staring into deep dark pools. \"Hey.\" He said softly.
\"Hi.\" she replied a soft hint of worry in her voice, James detected it.
\"You okay?\" he asked running his hand through her silky hair.
\"Yeah.\" She said. She was lying, she knew she wasn\'t okay and it was all because of him.
Why didn\'t she leave last night? She should have. She had been staring at him since daybreak trying to figure out why she had stayed. His face had been so soft when he was asleep, and his arms so comforting. But he\'s a human, smelled like one. For some reson she loved the way he smelt. Loved the way he looked. Loved the way he felt. Loved hi- no. No. she couldn\'t even think about that. ~He\'s human.~ she told herself harshly. ~You can\'t~ But she feared she already did.
Her eyes were doing that thing again. That thing where he could tell she was thinking to hard about something. He kissed her deeply, and when he pulled away looked deep into her eyes. \"Stop.\" He said.
\"Stop what?\" She asked.
\"Thinking about whatever it is you\'re thinking about.\" He said. \"I want you here with me right now.\" He gave her another kiss this one lighter. \"No where else.\"
Alex always marveled at the fact that no matter how lost she got in her thoughts or anything else he could bring her back to him with a kiss. She smiled, and offered a small nod. She allowed her eyes to close and as soon as they did her thoughts came rushing back to her. ~Am I falling back in love with him?~ She thought. Back? That was the first time she had admitted to loving him the first time they were together. ~But he was so young.~ She thought. ~But now he\'s not.~ She silently growled. How could a man who she hadn\'t seen in over seven years come back, and after one night of passion reduce the goddess of war to a pile of bumbling mush? She thought about it. ~This must be an act of another power.~ She contmplated. She only knew of one person who had that type of power. \"Aphrodite.\" she hissed.
\"What?\" James asked, but she was gone, dissapeared out of his arms. He looked around and sighed, finding no trace of his goddess. \"I knew it couldn\'t last.\"
