Chapter 5
CHAPTER FIVE
Marcus looked at the time it was close to midnight and he was tired. Kyle had finally given up the search for Linda and now looked at him. \"Come on let\'s go get you settled down so you can take a nap.\" he said. Marcus looked at him and frowned at that. He didn\'t know why they were staying at all. It wasn\'t as if Linda couldn\'t get a ride home with one of the other\'s. With a tired sigh Marcus followed his brother.
Kyle stopped suddenly as one of the other partier\'s came out looking about. He looked at them. \"Have you seen Tina?\" He asked. \"I can\'t find her anywhere.\" he said. He was looking around worriedly. Kyle saw Marcus look at him. Fear clear in his eyes. Kyle put an arm around him to comfort him. He was beginning to get scared as well. He then looked at the man.
\"Sorry Mike haven\'t seen her.\" He told him. \"Have you seen Linda? She seems to have vanished as well.\" he said.
Mike looked at them and shook his head. \"No I haven\'t and some other\'s are missing too.\" He said. \"I don\'t know I don\'t like this at all.\" he said. He looked at Marcus who was close to his brother\'s side like he didn\'t want to loose him. \"They probably just wandered off and got lost.\" he said trying to reassure the young blond. \"I\'m sure they will turn up again soon.\" He wasn\'t so sure himself with as many people that were missing..
As they spoke something moved along slithering in the shadows it was hungry all the other\'s seemed to have fed all ready but for it. Now it\'s scaly body moved slowly along leaving a trail of slime in it\'s wake. It opened it\'s mouth and stuck out it\'s tongue to scent the air like a snake. It scented prey but there was too many of them he would have to wait until they seperated. It moved a long dragging itself along with clawed fins. It had hind fins that helped it move along as well. It\'s long tail had seraded edges on it making it a deadly weapon.
Kyle looked at Marcus who was nervously looking around. \"Marcus, see even Mike thinks they are just lost. There\'s nothing to worry about.\" Kyle then spotted a room they hadn\'t checked out. Kyle went over to it and Marcus followed him. He hoped that his big brother was right and there was nothing to fear. They left Mike there as they went and searched. Mike didn\'t want to follow them and headed back to the party room.
In the shadow\'s the creature moved to make it\'s strike. It\'s tail swung out catching the man\'s legs. It ignored the scream that was coming from the man and headed for the man. It\'s tongue scenting the air as it located it\'s prey. It moved after Mike who was now trying to escape the creature. It moved it\'s way forward and lashed out again with it\'s tail catching the man again in the stomach. It was then able to catch him and now quickly started to bite into the man tearing chunks of flesh from him. It soon began to drag it off where it could eat in peace without worry of discovery.
Kyle and Marcus looked about and found nothing out of the ordinary in the room. They headed out again and to the party room. Marcus looked around and didn\'t spot Mike at all. He looked at Kyle and then the rest of the party only 4 other\'s remained. Marcus saw that the dummy wasn\'t where it was before and looked at Kyle. He didn\'t like this at all. \"Kyle I really want to leave.\" He said. \"This place isn\'t right.\" he said. \"Something evil about it.\" He tried to explain himself better.
Kyle looked at Marcus and sighed. \"Well we can\'t just leave everyone here can we?\" He asked moving to some of the remaining partiers. He asked if they had seen any of the missing people and they hadn\'t since they arrived. Kyle was aware of Marcus listening and knew this was only adding to his fear. Kyle grabbed another beer and began to drink worried about Linda. He was also worried about his little brother who stood near him as if seeking protection from something. Kyle hugged him suddenly and smiled at him in reassurance.
Kyle suddenly looked towards the door and spotted Linda going by. She didn\'t stop and Kyle started after her with his brother close on his heals. Kyle called out to her but she only looked back at them and smiled. \"Come see what I found it\'s great.\" She said. She led the way off to a set of stairs and headed up them. Kyle looked at Marcus and then at Linda. Marcus held Kyle back.
\"Please I don\'t want to follow her Kyle something seems off.\" He said. He held onto Kyle trying to get him to stay with him. Kyle looked at him and frowned. He began to head after Linda dragging Marcus with him. The blond had no choice but to follow him.
\"It\'s only Linda, Marcus nothing scary about that.\" He said. \"Come on let\'s see what she found.\" He let Marcus cling to him and it puzzled him Marcus never clung. He was also beginning to get nervous about what was going on. He looked at Linda and then at Marcus. The boy\'s eyes were wide with fear and his hand crushed his own. It was getting himself worked up but he cursed himself for being an idiot there was nothing to be scared of.
