Chapter 4

Several days passed on in which Luindaeion stayed in his room allowing Mortarmaien to enter on occasions. He finally decided to make way to the kitchen, having nothing but water. His bare feet moved slowly over the white polish tiles, cold to the touch.

Everyone had gone to sleep, but found that a flame flickered within the kitchen. Luindaeion eyes shinned in the dim light and he carefully peered around to corner to get a glimpse of who was in the kitchen. Ice blue eyes met his gaze a he felt a shiver crawl down his spine, goose bumps overcoming his skin. He backed up slowly, and then began to run but a tight embrace stopped him from behind.

“Don’t leave.” A delicate voice whispered gently in his ear. Cold fingers trailed over the elf’s luminous skin.

“I’ve fallen in love with you Luindaeion. Join me in my travels, I don’t want to ever lose sight of you.” Kisses followed the whispers and Luindaeion closed his eyes.

“I can’t, my place is here with Envinyatar.” His voice was shaky.
“Tell him you love me.”

“Never!” His voice spoke louder than intended and he pushed the slim human from him.

“You wouldn’t want to spend eternity alone would you Luindaeion.” A single tear fell from Luindaeion’s eyes when he heard these words whispered for his ears alone.

“What do you want of me?” Luindaeion spoke with a sad voice, defeated.

“Come with me.” His words sounded like poison to the pointed ears of the elf.

“I’m under you command, but leave my Envinyatar be.” His appetite had vanished as he walked back towards his room, James following close behind.

Luindaeion awoke the next morning with warm arms wrapped around him, but his heart was empty. The stirring of the dark haired elf awoke the man that lay next to him.

“My love.” He whispered sleepily before kissing the point of his ear.

“Today I leave, I’ll be happy to have you by my side.” He paused for a moment his eyes scanning the emptiness of Luindaeion’s.

“Come, its time to bid your farewell to Envinyatar. Don’t look so sad, what is a human’s life span to an elf.” His lips found there way to Luindaeion’s but he turned his head rebelliously.

“Kiss me.” His words had no kindness to them and his hand roughly grabbed the young elf’s chin. Luindaeion’s eyes fluttered, eyelashes trying to trap the water, which seeped from his blue orbs. He heard his door open, but the human’s lips claimed his own greedily.

“Wow, some action in this room. The morning’s sky isn’t yet in full glory.” Mortarmaien’s voice teased her hand folded over her chest. Her satin nightgown flowed to every curve of her body showing the flawlessness of her beauty. James eyes glanced at her coldly, never parting the kiss. Luindaeion pushed him away and wrapped the sheet around him before walking from the bed.

“May I speak with Morty, alone?” His hand motioned for the door. His cheeks stained with tears.

“As you wish.” He paused to glare once more at Mortarmaien. “I’ll be waiting for you in the garden.” He kissed his lips lovingly and slipped out of the door. As soon as he was out of hearing distance Mortarmaien spoke.

“I thought you and my brother were in love? What happened?” She questioned eagerly. He turned to face her, his eyes red and filled with sorrow.

“I do love Envinyatar, but I’ve become a slave to James.” His tear fell freely from his eyes and Mortarmaien’s brow frowned with worry.

“Is this what’s been wrong with you? How did it happen?” Her arms wrapped around her sobbing friend.

“He raped me and said if I mentioned it to anyone Envinyatar would be killed for it.” He sobbed between words. “Now I must go with him. I do not wish to see my lovers funeral I have no choice.” His words broke and he fell to the floor his eyes buried in his hands.

“Luindaeion.” Mortarmaien whispered gently but she knew she couldn’t help him. She knelt down next to him; her small hands rubbed his back.

“I’m going with you.” She said at last breaking the never-ending silence. He looked up at her and shook his head.

“No Morty, you ca-”

“It doesn’t matter what you say I’m going.” She interrupted him.
