The Riders of Ebony

Zared stared up at D’Cifer’s fangs and watched her throw her head back, tossing her mane of black hair back and out of the way. Her red skin seemed ablaze in the sunlight and they locked eyes as her head snaked back towards his. Their noses almost touched and Zared could see that D’Cifer’s eyes were black. There was not a speck of white in those deep ebony eyes of hers that drew him in and curled around his mind creating a deep desire in him.

~ Luxuria… ~ D’Cifer whispered simply explaining the feeling of the powerful desire with the new word. However, D’Cifer knew luxuria was so much more than pure desire.

Zared’s eyes opened wide as D’Cifer moved and her soft cheek brushed against his own. He moved his head and felt her body respond under his. He felt her hot breath was felt on his neck and a fire-hot tongue traced his neck it soon after.

D’Cifer’s body began to tighten around Zared’s and he felt himself respond in turn, increasing the friction between the two. He felt her teeth prick his skin. His breath caught in his throat as he felt his blood leave his body, it was pain such sweet and exquisite pain. The kind of pain that draws you into yourself and then the pain disappears and just becomes a pure feeling.

"Ooh…" he slowly let the breath out of his lungs as he felt the strength seep out of his body languidly and he leaned back no longer able to keep himself in a sitting position.

The life flowed out of him as her teeth sank deeper into his flesh; he closed his eyes and his head drooped to the side. He felt the fangs slip out of his body and, with the little strength he had left, he rolled his head slowly forward and looked at D’Cifer. She smiled down at him, her teeth splashed with his blood, as she brought her wrist to her mouth and Zared watched her leisurely bit into herself and offer it to him.

~ Drink. ~ Not an order or command. She spoke it softly and full of love that Zared obeyed her without question. The honeyed blood flowed into his mouth and he swallowed it down, letting it course through his dying body. Strength infused him and he pushed himself up slowly, but when his head swam he leaned back down. D’Cifer was still straddling him and he suckled her wrist still drinking her blood drawing it into himself. It tasted so sweet and yet…

Zared’s stomach cramped. He pushed D’Cifer off of him suddenly. His body began to convulse and Zared cried out. He rolled into the fetal position facing towards D’Cifer. He could see her through the tears in his eyes.

"What is happening?" he asked as the pain rippled through his body starting from his heart, flowing outward and ending at his toes. Only to have the digits cramp and have the pain repeat itself.

~ Your body is dying. You shall be reborn of the night… ~

D’Cifer moved away from the tormented body of Zared and stood up. The fire did not engulf her this time. Instead Zared watched as her form shifted into the male unicorn at once.

His body shook and he felt his heart beat become severely irregular, he stared at D’Cifer as his vision darkened.

Zared opened his eyes. Light was around him as he rolled onto his back. He gazed into the sky and realized he was staring at the stars and the moon, not the sun. The moonlight looked like daylight to him. He sat up quickly and he blacked out for a moment, as his body became aware of the changes D’Cifer had caused.

~ Careful, Love, your body is finishing adjusting to becoming a vampyre. A changed creature you are now. You are a creature of the night. You will find that your body is not like it once was. Since I have made you a new creature, ~ D’Cifer tossed back his head arrogantly, ~ Yes, a new creature, a new species! Higher than mortals… you shall live thousands of years! ~ D’Cifer’s eyes became a light with an internal fire. ~ You are no longer a mortal man and thus, you cannot be Zared. ~

The man lifted his head and looked at the crimson unicorn. His jaw was dropped, hanging open. If he was not Zared… who was he?

~ Your name is Drayus. ~
