Chapter 5

Tienna slowly drove home, her mind awash as the radio played dimly in the background. Her emotions were in turmoil as she turned into the driveway turning off the car. She shakily got out of the car and entered the house, it was cold, lifeless and dark. Sighing to herself she switched on the television as she opened the door to her balcony. Rummaging through the fridge, she found what she wanted as she brought out the bottle of wine with a glass to the balcony. Sitting down she poured herself a full glass, taking a long draught before placing the half-empty glass back onto the table. She exhaled loudly as she felt the contents of the alcohol warm her stomach, her senses tingling as the warmth spread to the rest of her body. She could faintly hear the television blaring away in the background.

5,4,3,2,1... Happy New Year!

Tienna sighed deeply as she raised her half-empty glass of wine to the sky.

\"Here\'s too 2 glorious years John...\"

She raised the glass to her lips and drank heavily from the glass, draining its contents in two gulps before dropping the glass onto the floor. As she watched the glass fall upon the balcony surface and shatter, she felt something deep inside her shatter as well, as she wept, sobbing loudly as tears began to streak down her face. In the background, party music filled the air as the world celebrated the dawn of the new millennium.

From below the balcony she heard a voice. Soft at first but quickly gaining volume as its voice reverberated loudly, filling the evening air with its melodious tone. The voice sounded celestial as it intensified in crescendo before ebbing away, its voice never once wavering. Tienna was hypnotised by the voice; it sounded so familiar yet she was abl able to put her finger upon it. Struggling to her feet she walked to the edge of the balcony, peering over in an attempt to see where the voice originated.

There below the balcony, awash in the light of a street lamp stood Aria. She was dressed in some ragged clothes that clung to her body, which still dripped from the rain. She saw Tienna and smiled.

\"With all that racket your making down there, you will wake up the neighbours.\"

-\"The neighbours cannot see nor hear a thing that I do, they can only see and hear you talking to me. Are you going to invite me up? I wouldn\'t want the neighbours to think that you are going insane, talking and arguing with yourself to invisible figures in the street.\"

Tienna grinned.
\"They already think I am insane. Come on up, let\'s get you out of those wet clothes before you catch a chill.\"

Aria grinned as she made her way up the stairs to the front door.

Tienna\'s heart began to accelerate as she hastily smoothed her clothes, she was tempted to change into something more alluring than the bikini top and bottom she had on but before she could reach her bedroom the doorbell from the front door sounded.

Tienna swore silently underneath her breath as she walked shakily to the front door, her hands were shaking as they gripped the cold brass door handle, opening the door. There stood Aria, grinning and dripping wet, she exuded an unearthly radiance that filled the room calming Tienna. Tienna stared at Aria.

\"Well? Are you going to invite me in? Just because I\'ve lived in an ocean for my whole life doesn\'t necessarily mean I like being wet. Well not when out in the air anyways.\"

Tienna grinned, stepping back as she swept her arm back in a welcoming gesture. Aria giggled as she walked into the house, staring at awe at the decorated interior.

-\"Come in, come in\"

Tienna said, walking past Aria to the lounge room. Aria walked behind Tienna, her eyes revolving round in circles at various paraphernalia that decorated the walls.

\"Excuse the mess...I don\'t usually entertain much these days.\"

Tienna babbled, blushing heavily as she hastily walked around the room picking up various items that she had missed when cleaning, putting them away.

\"Here have a seat.\"

Tienna said tossing e soe some magazines that littered a plush couch. Aria sat down, revelling in the softness of the couch. She stretched her legs out, looking at them admirably as Tienna pottered about, turning on the heater to warm up the cold room. Soon hot air wafted through the enclosed interior, giving the house a cosy feel. Finally, happy with the interior of the house, Tienna sat down, she looked flustered as she fidgeted around. Aria looked at her.

\"You have a lot on your mind.\"

Tienna looked at Aria\'s smiling face, her full pouted lips and her long eyelashes that framed her vividly green eyes.

\"So do I.\"

Tienna looked at this exquisite creation sitting before her and began to wonder at what she possibly could have on her mind.

-\"What do you have on your mind?\"

\"You.\"

\"Yes.\"

-\"Why am I on your mind?\"

Tienna\'s heart began to race as her mind reeled at the endless possibilities of what may come out of Aria\'s mouth next.

\"Well... I\'m torn between two things that I love, but I must choose one.\"

-\"What may these two things be?\"

\"My love of the ocean, and my love of you.\"

Tienna stood stock still as her heart skipped a beat.

-\"I have a confession to make as well... I think that I may be in love with too...\"

Aria looked at her, her green eyes shone intensely as her face softened. Tienna moved closer to Aria until they were a hairbreadths apart from each other. They were so close that whenever Tienna exhaled she moved a small part of Aria\'s fringe. Tienna leaned forward to whisper into Aria\'s ear.

-\"Perhaps I can help you with your decision.\"

Tienna\'s mouth parted as she gently kissed Aria\'s neck lightly, then with more passion as Aria\'s eyes fluttered shut, a soft groan expelling from between her lips as her neck arched back, exposing more of her neck to Tienna\'s salacious tongue.
