style='mso-tab-count:1'> When Rachel reached the ground she was
impressed with the sliding tube. It seemed almost too perfect to be real.
Leaving the wonderful tube aside she went to the barn door. The guy who had
been searching in the hay would probably hear the noise she was deliberately
making. But either he had a hearing problem or he was just plain stupid he
ignored it. She could see his back as he looked in the trees surrounding the
barn. Thinking quickly she grabbed a small rock from the floor and threw it at
him. Once it made contact with his back she entered the barn once more and hid
quickly. At the moment she had no way of knowing if the guy was coming but she
couldn’t risk going to check. So she waited. It wasn’t long before she heard
the controlled footsteps of the enemy. He was walking slowly but steadily and
definitely making his way to the barn. The tip of his gun was the first thing
to come into Rachel’s eyesight. Gradually the cautious man entered the barn and
once he was inside he turned everywhere to find his attacker and target. Once
he turned his back to where Rachel was hiding she attacked. Using the handle of
her trusty Glock she hit him in the head causing the
man to pass out. She closed the barn door again and put all her attention on
the fallen man. The first thing she did was to remove his belt, which contained
several grenades, and strapped it around her waist. Then she grabbed his
machine gun and some ammo he had in his pocket. Afterwards she dragged him to
the center of the barn and turned him so now he was lying on his back. Next she
searched for any other gun and found a small one in his sock. She removed it
and put it on her back, beside her Glock. Making sure
the man was clean of guns she then proceeded to place his radio where he could
easily see it. Finally she ran to the stairs and climbed them. Gabriel was
looking at her in shock when she reached the upper section.
“What?” she
asked as she pulled the stairs up so no one could reach them.
style='mso-ansi-language:EN-GB'>“You’re crazy.” He said
simply.
“It’s going to
work. I’m sure it is. Wait and you’ll see.”
“I don’t think
we’re that lucky.”
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> They waited for the man to wake up. When he
did he looked so lost it was almost funny. He turned his head in every
direction and when he tried to get up he fell twice. Finally he calmed down and
was able to pick up his radio.
“Hello, this is
078, can you hear me? Over.” he said nervously to the radio.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>
“This is 081,
what is your status? Over.” a voice asked.
“I’m in the
barn. I’ve been attacked. I think they may still be here. Over.”
“We’ll be right
there. Over and out.”
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> The man put his radio back in his pants and
made a move to look for his gun that supposedly was in sock. When he didn’t
find it he panicked. He ran to the door and proceeded to open it. When he
managed to open it fully the rest of the men entered including Danny and a
limping Robert.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rachel rubbed her hands together and nudged
Gabriel.
“I told you it
would work.” She whispered.
lang=EN-US>“Yeah, and now what?”
“We wait for the
right time.”
