Chapter 42

Happy 2010!!!

TOKYO BOYS
Chapter 42

Akiko gave her son the keys for his new apartment in the morning before New Year’s Eve. She ordered him to go clean it, but he chose to go spend the day with Yuuto instead, thinking his mother wouldn’t notice if he cleaned it a day before or after.

Unfortunately for him, Yuuto was busy cleaning his own house, and he had no choice but joining him.

It was the first time ever Yuuto had to spend New Year’s Eve by himself and he was grateful he was able to spend it with Daisuke.

While he was busy cleaning the house, Daisuke was in charge of the cooking. He had a cook book open in front of him as he attempted to cook traditional New Year dishes, such as New Year’s Eve noodles, which symbolized longevity to the Japanese. They thrived on their superstitions, but Daisuke was not into it.

“Why are you dusting again? We cleaned yesterday!” He noted when Yuuto passed by him with the duster.

“Because it’s tradition!” Yuuto replied and continued dusting around the kitchen.

“It’s just a superstition…” Daisuke shrugged and returned his attention to the stove. “I think all these New Year traditions are bullshit…” he said in a very un-Japanese like manner.

“I just want…” Yuuto stopped cleaning the dustless counter. “I want this year to be better than the last one, is it so wrong to believe it could happen?”

Daisuke turned to him. “No, of course not… I didn’t mean it that way…” He shrugged. “You can believe that pissing on a coin would make you rich if it makes you happy…”

“Stop mocking me.” Yuuto gave him a slight whack with the duster.

After they had finished cleaning and cooking, they sat down in the living room, to watch some of the special holiday broadcasting and eat the noodles Daisuke cooked so well.

Yuuto was busy eating and watching TV, but Daisuke’s eyes skimmed over to Yuuto’s pile of works. Usually they were in the kitchen, where Yuuto had more space to work on them, but he moved everything in a pile to the living room when he was cleaning the kitchen. Daisuke leaned in and took the notebook that contained Yuuto’s watercolor impressions.

“Hmmm…” he drawled as he looked through the drawings. “You know what my new place needs?”

“Air freshener?” Yuuto suggested.

“Funny. But no, what I meant is… I’d love to hang one of your artworks on my wall, like sensei did.” Daisuke waved one of the painted cards he was holding.

“Ah… I don’t really have anything…” Yuuto started saying.

“Make a special one for me?” Daisuke smiled sweetly. “I’ll save a wall for it…”

Yuuto smiled inwardly and nodded.

Shortly before midnight, the boys headed out to the local temple for the ceremony. The temple was already crowded with people and families anticipating to hear the midnight temple bells.

Yuuto urged Daisuke to stay for the religious ceremony even after the bell had rung 108 times. Daisuke wasn’t as enthusiastic about all the rituals, but stayed with Yuuto. He also got to meet friends from school, chat for a while and when he followed Yuuto to buy charms, he spotted his family.

His parents and brother, all of them wearing traditional and formal kimono, were on their way to the offerings.

“Brother!” Akira spotted him and ran towards him without hesitation.

“And Yuu-chan!” He beamed at Yuuto.

Daisuke threw a glance at his parents. His father had his usual stern expression and pretended he did not see him. He could tell his mother wanted to come over but was too scared to leave her husband’s side.

“Akira!” Their father’s voice roared, even in the din of the crowd. “We’re leaving. Don’t get lost.”

Akira huffed, sad his time with his brother was cut too short. “See ya later…” he muttered, and then as he ran off, he waved at them and yelled out, “Happy New Year!”

Daisuke chuckled. “He’s such a kid…”

Yuuto wondered what Daisuke was really thinking, but felt it would be rude to ask. He touched him gently.

“We can go back now, if you want…” he said.

“Have you finished getting all the wishes burnt down, and buying all the charms and offerings?” Daisuke asked, almost mockingly.

“Some…” Yuuto frowned at him. “I’m just getting tired now… let’s go back.”

New Year day was spent eating most of the delicious holiday dishes Daisuke had prepared. They couldn’t stop themselves and hardly left anything for the next day.

“It’s so delicious!! You should be a chef!” Yuuto marveled.

Daisuke just laughed and dismissed the idea.

In the afternoon they went to Daisuke’s apartment, carrying cleaning materials from Yuuto’s house.

The apartment was in the second floor of a three-story complex and was actually a single room, divided by a shoji door from the hallway that contained a small kitchenette, a small bathroom and a smaller room for the toilet bowl.

The two boys rolled up their sleeves and started working: Yuuto vacuumed the tatami mats and Daisuke moved behind him with a damp rag.

Taking a break, Daisuke stepped out of the apartment to the passageway and leaned on the stone barrier, taking out his cigarette pack.

Yuuto stood next to him and leaned his chin over his crossed hands. “I can’t believe it’s already New Year…”

Daisuke threw a glance at him and smiled. He then turned around and rested his back against the barrier and lit himself a smoke. He puffed and said, “Time really flies so fast… soon we’ll be going to university…” He scratched his head with his free hand and made a face. “I haven’t even thought of what I want to study! Let alone where!”

“If I get into Geidai…” Yuuto hummed into his sleeves, “We won’t be in the same school anymore… that’s kind of sad…”

Daisuke held the smoke in his lung for a long moment before huffing it with a hiss. “Well… if I get accepted into a school in town, we could live together…” He quickly took another drag from his cigarette.

Yuuto perked his head and looked at him. “Li- live together?”

“Yeah…” Daisuke whiffed. “Wouldn’t it be great? We could save on the rent and see each other whenever we can… what do you think?”

Yuuto felt his heart beating faster. He never actually thought about moving out of his mother’s house. It seemed natural he was going to live and die in the old narrow house. Daisuke’s suggestion actually sounded enticing.

“I don’t know…” He tried to keep cool. “I’ll think about it.”

When they had finished cleaning, they collapsed on the floor, happy it was finally over.

“Lots of hassle for such a small apartment,” Daisuke muttered.

“You know…” They both suddenly got up together, nearly colliding into each other.

“Ahh…” Yuuto lowered his eyes, realizing how close he was to Daisuke’s face. He could smell the mint in Daisuke’s breath.

“Sorry…” Daisuke said quietly. He had a hard time ignoring the arousal in his pants. Why was he getting aroused by Yuuto so quickly now?

“I was thinking…” Yuuto mumbled shyly, but didn’t move away.

“Hm?” Daisuke raised his arm and rested it on Yuuto’s shoulder.

With a little shove, Yuuto was pushed close against Daisuke’s body. It felt warm and sturdy.

“We should… probably…” he whispered, but Daisuke wrapped his other arm around his body and lowered his head to Yuuto’s shoulder.

Yuuto felt safe and warm in Daisuke’s embrace, and wished they could stay just like that forever. But then Daisuke lowered his arms. His face was still over Yuuto’s neck.

“I want you…” he whispered in Yuuto’s ear, his lips fluttering over Yuuto’s sensitive skin. “I want to make love to you…” he continued whispering. “I want to make you forget everything…”

Yuuto squeezed Daisuke’s hand and the taller boy took it as a green light. He attached his lips to the pulsing vein in Yuuto’s neck, sucking gently, while his hand started to roam under Yuuto’s shirt, caressing his soft skin.

This was different than anything Daisuke had experienced before. Instead of the burning desire and sense of urgency he felt with Moriyama-sensei, it was slow and tender. Daisuke liked it hard and fast when he knew that sensei might back out of it if they took too long. But with Yuuto, Daisuke took his time, successfully controlling his feral desire to tear the clothes off the boy and take him right there and then.

He wanted to make the experience a good one for Yuuto, one that could possibly erase the violence he had suffered before. It infuriated Daisuke to think about the pain and humiliation the younger boy must have been subjected to.

Yuuto might have felt Daisuke’s body tense, because he grabbed Daisuke’s arm, holding it in place and kissed Daisuke on his cheek, as if to say that everything was going to be fine.

Slowly, Daisuke helped the shorter boy pull the shirt out of the way and hugged the naked torso closer to him, bringing his lips to the boy’s bare shoulder.

“Daisuke…” Yuuto blushed, his clutched fist holding tight to Daisuke’s arm. “I feel funny…”

“Me too…” Daisuke whispered and let go of him in order to remove his own shirt. He tossed it carelessly away and returned to hold Yuuto, now that no material separated their hot skin.

Yuuto moaned as Daisuke continued to kiss his neck and shoulder, while caressing his nipples. He closed his eyes and leaned his head on Daisuke’s wide chest.

They started sinking down to the tatami floor and Daisuke propped himself over Yuuto, reaching to undo the pants and slide it off Yuuto’s body. He smiled when he saw the light pink spread on the boy’s cheeks.

Yuuto was sure Daisuke was going to tug at his underwear, but instead Daisuke moved back up and gave him a small peck, as if to reassure him.

The boy felt his chest about to burst as he watched Daisuke’s flexed muscles as he moved on top of him. Daisuke leaned to kiss Yuuto’s chest again, running his tongue around the small brown nipples, teasing the sensitive area until they perked and he could suck lightly on them. Yuuto moaned and his hold of Daisuke’s arm slipped.

Daisuke suddenly jolted back when he heard the louder moan. He looked at the other boy with concern. “Did I hurt you?”

“N-no…” Yuuto whispered and blushed. “It was just…”

“I’m sorry, Yuu-chan…” Daisuke panted. “We shouldn’t… I can’t… I can’t do this…”

Yuuto lowered his eyes. He was going to reassure Daisuke he wanted his touch and wasn’t in any pain, but Daisuke had already gotten up on his feet.

“I’m sorry, Yuu-chan… I’m so sorry…” Daisuke repeated. “If we go on any further, it will be painful for you… I can’t do this.”

“Daisuke…” Yuuto’s voice quivered.

“I… I need to go back to sensei’s place…” Daisuke whispered to himself and Yuuto closed his mouth. “He’s coming back real soon, so I need to…”

Yuuto didn’t listen. He knew Daisuke loved their teacher. Daisuke never denied, and Yuuto knew it would be hard for someone like him to compete with Moriyama-sensei. It worked out while sensei was away visiting family, but he was going to return soon…

Daisuke raised his eyes. “I’m sorry Yuu-chan, I’ll walk you home.” He interrupted the boy’s thoughts.

Yuuto dressed up solemnly and walked out. “It’s okay. I know the way.”

“Yuu-chan.” Daisuke grabbed his arm. “I’m sorry, it’s just… I can’t stop thinking about that… I don’t want to hurt you.”

Yuuto looked at him and withdrew his arm without a word.

“Then, I’ll…” Daisuke said awkwardly. “I’ll see you around.”

“Yeah…” Yuuto blushed lightly and left.
