Out of a Hat
Hellz yes! Three chapters in like a half hour. I'm so pround of me, especially since I just wrote this one. Oh, and by the way, I'm sorry if my writing style is a little different than it was at the beginning of this story. I wrote a story for my friend (the only one I've ever finished!!!) and I'm still kind of flowing with that story's writing style. So sorry if it's different!
Disclaimer: Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine, oh...oh and Mine!!!

We sat in the military base perfectly content. Those men had given us our own room, big enough for all of us, and given us food and clothes. After that we had all just sat down and started talking. None of us really knew anything about each other and that came into sad realization as we were talking. Just generally the people we were, not necassarily where we had come from or anything but just who we were.
"How do you do that?" I asked Elise as he played with fire between his hands. Elise had sort of kept quiet and it was easy to see that he was more than worred about Tran. Clearly there were things that weren't being told. "Could you show me?"
I sat down next to him and he nodded his head, the fire disappeared. "Do you remember how it felt when your house burnt down?" he asked me and I nodded. "You use that. Just...think of it. It's that same feeling. The same feeling you had when you first felt that burning." a flame lit in his hand. "You just focus it. That's all you have to learn how to do. You just have to learn to control it because it's already in you."
"Okay." I nodded and held my hand out. Closing my eyes I brought myself back to that place. Back to my home and that feeling I had been feeling while that fire had been raging. I felt something spark deep in my chest and I opened my eyes, staring at my hand. I jumped a little as a fire began to burn on my palm. "Wow."
"Not that hard is it?" Elise smiled as I shook my head in amazement. "You still need some practice till you can do all the fun stuff but you've basically got it down."
The fire vanished and I looked at Elise. "Did you know your parents well?"
Elise looked away from me and nodded his head. "My parents...I loved them. They never hid it from me, what I was. My father, when he could be home, would always spend time with me teaching me how to do things. I hated myself for so long that I had killed them with the thing he had spent so much time teaching me." he sighed. "My dad's brother took me in only because he owed it to his brother. His son died not a year after I showed up there and he immediately hated me. Telling me it should have been me who died and not his son. He hated me so much."
"Your father...he taught you how to this?" I asked him.
"Yeah." Elise looked back at me. "Did your parents really tell you nothing of this Christopher?"
I sighed. "I remember being little once and my father telling me a story that, if I remember correctly, had people with amazing abilities and things in it but he never told me about himself or about me."
"That's messed up." Elise muttered and then looked up to stare out the window at the rising sun. "I wonder if they are all alright."
"I'm sure they're fine. After all, you've said yourself that Tran can handle anything right?" I asked him, trying my best to try and be possitive for Elise. He just kind of nodded. "He loves you doesn't he?" Elise kind of startled at that one and turned his head to look at me again. "Well, I just...I mean...if he loves you he should come back to you..."
Elise smiled softly. "I'm not worried about Tran." I looked at him, confusion probably written across my face. "I'm worries about Ace and Edan. Edan said that something was wrong, so I'm worried about them. I want them to be okay."
I was silent a moment, wondering if it was right or not to ask Elise about that place that Tran had been in. That laboratory. Why had my mother been there? I didn't remember her ever talking about a place like that. I didn't ever remember being in a place like that. So what was it? And how many of the others also bore the same mark that Ace and Tran were branded with. Clearly there had to be others, not just those two. It didn't make sense.
"It was a research facility." Elise muttered softly. "Tran told me that they did horrible things there. He said they had this machine that they would lock you in, almost like a room but with wires and stuff everywhere. You were chained to the floor by your hands and then they would do whatever it took just to get you to use your abilities." he lowered his head. "Tran told me they wanted to make a medicine of some kind. Something to control us so they could use us like weapons against their enemies. That's why the government wants us so bad." he looked up at me. "That's why it's not safe for us to be here right now. Someone higher up is bound to hear about us and take us away."
"Were there any others there? Besides Tran and Ace?" I asked him. He just nodded, as if I could read his mind or something. "Who else was there? Was it you?"
Elise shook his head. "No it wasn't me." he sighed and took a deep breath. "Tran told me the names of everyone that was there with him. He told me that once they got out everyone just went their seperate ways hoping they would never have to relive those memories again." his eyes drifted over to where the others were sitting. "Gabriel was there. Tran said it was the worst for Gabi because of what he can do. Because of the fact that he can give life, he can heal. He said they messed him up so bad that there were nights when Gabi wouldn't even sleep. He'd just sit there and stare out the window with absolutely no emotion on his face. It's a wonder how any of them even survived all that."
It was hard for me to believe what I was hearing. Hard for me to even comprehend what was going on. Gabriel had completely acted like he had never met Tran or Ace in his life. He'd even fooled Alexis with that one. All of these people, these strange people that I was traveling with, did they all have such dark pasts? Could even Edan, who seemed so carefree and naive really have secrets that he would never share to any of us? I didn't understand it at all!
"Don't worry about it." Elise muttered and I looked over at him. "They have all handed it for this long so they know what their doing. You don't have to worry about them or what happened anymore. As for why it was them, who knows. Maybe because of who they are, maybe because the government pulled their names out of a hat. I have no idea. What I do know is that everything changes no matter what you do. Bad things happen but...sometimes that's just how life is."
"Do you really think...that everything is going to end up okay?" I asked him. "Do you think that...in the end...any of us will make it out alright?"
Elise actually smiled a little then. "I think that depends on your opinion of alright."
"Gabi!" Alexis yelled and we all looked over to see Gabriel had dropped to his knees, face hidden in his hands. "Gabi what's wrong? Say something to me!"
"I want to die!" Gabriel screamed. "I just want to die! I want everything to be over with! I don't want to hurt any more! I just want to fucking die!" a power seemed to radiate off of him, sending a shockwave over all of us. "Just fucking kill me please!"
A shadow slid across the ground and then Tran, Ace, and Edan were standing in the room as well. Tran walked over to Gabriel crouched down in front of him, lifting his chin so he could look into Gabriel's eyes. I had no idea what was going on. This was probably the only time I'd actually seen Gabriel and Tran within ten feet of each other. It was so strange.
"If you were supposed to die it would have happened a long time ago. You are stronger than this Gabriel so stop this childish behavior." Tran practically snapped at him. "If you insist on acting like this then do it somewhere else where we don't have to suffer through your immature behavior. You don't want to die and you're being irrational for saying so."
Gabriel just nodded his head and Tran stood again. Everything was silent. Completely. There was not even the normal background noise in my head that was usually there. It was as if Tran had stopped it the moment he had come into the room. I wasn't exactly sure what had happened but I knew that something was going on. I knew by the look that Ace gave Tran that something was happening that the rest of us were not yet aware of. But what!? Why did they always feel the need to keep things from us? Did we not deserve to know as well as anyone else what was happening? We were in danger as well!
"Christopher." my head shot up as Tran said my name. "Let him in."
My eyes widened and I shook my head. "N...no."
The man groaned in agrivation and ran a hand through his hair. "Christopher just let him out. We're never going to get rid of him if we don't deal with him now. Do it."
I shook my head again. "I wont. I wont let that man in!"
"Christopher!" Tran snapped at me. "Unless you want him to keep coming back, keeping hurt you and everyone else, then call him out right now!"
I swallowed audibly and nodded my head before closing my eyes, trying to concentrate. Somewhere in the back of my mind I heard Tran say something to Ace but I didn't actually hear what was going on. I winced a little as the sound of a smack rang through my head. Apparently he'd been waiting for me to call out to him. Taking a deep breath I clenched my fists and tried to open my mind up to him more, which was difficult since I didn't want to talk to this man anyway.
"You just wont give up will you?" came a whisper from behind me. "Honestly I'm starting to think that you want me to hurt your friends. Do you really hate them all that much? What a horrible person you are. Simply pathetic." I clenched my hands over my ears. "Why don't you just die and let them all be in peace? You know you're the reason that they are all going through this pain. It's your fault that they left their homes and their lives. If it weren't for you...they probably wouldn't have died so young."
"Open your eyes Christopher." Tran ordered. I couldn't. It felt like this man had a vice around my body. Like he'd broke into my brain and stopped all my movement. Why was he like this? What had I done? Why!? "Now Christopher!"
I gasped as my eyes met Ace's and I dropped to my knees as my mind felt like it was being split in half. Suddenly there was a wave of heat and fire shot up around us. I looked up and felt Brian's hands on my shoulders as I saw that man standing there. Flames encased his body as he turned and looked down at me. This couldn't be real! He couldn't be standing there! He was in my mind! Only in my mind! What was going on? No! This couldn't be happening! No!
"Hello there...son."

Dun Dun Dun
Hmm, either Tran and Ace have a plan or all hell is about to break loose cause they were just kinda winging it. We'll see what happens next time!
Stay tuned! (haha)
- Kay, oh and reviews are appreciated...even though I probably don't deserve them after all this time...
