Return of a hero

So I finally got around  to posting  this.

After he calmed down somewhat , Raine  went  to  sit  down .  He leaned back  and  closed  his  eyes .  Suddenly  he felt a hand on his shoulder . He realized  that  he must have dozed off . Raine  looked  up  to see the doctor . He sat up .

"Mr.Szili ? "

"Yes, how is he ?"

"Mr.Bledsoe  is in  recovery  right  now .  Thankfully  the  knife  missed  any  vital  organs . Though  it cut a major  blood vessel . He should  be  fine  now ."

"So Raven , he's  going  to  be  okay ?  "  

Dr.Moore  smiled  reassuringly .  

"  Yes . He'll  be  fine , Mr.Bledsoe  will have  to  stay  for  a  few  weeks .  He should  make a full recovery . "

Raine  let  out  a  sigh  of  relief . He went forward  and  hugged  the  doctor . 

"Thank  you. Thank  you    so  much  Dr  Moore . " 

The doctor  patted  Raine  on  the  shoulder  .

"Not to worry ,  it's my job . Now  if  you'll  excuse  me ,  I  have  to  make  my  rounds ."

"Yes ,of course . Can I see him ?"

"Not right  now .  He's  in  a recovery  room  and heavily  sedated ,but he'll  be  transferred  to  a  private  room . "

"  Thank  you  again . "  

Doctor  Moore  nodded  and  left .  Raine  walked  back  to  his  seat  and  slumped  into  it  and  put his hands  in  his  face  and  sobbed  as  he  felt  a  weight  lift  off  him .  Raven  was  going  to  be  okay .  That was all that mattered . 

Half an  hour  later  Raine  was  told  that  Raven  was  in  a  private  room .  He  thanked  the nurse . He  walked toward the  room and  hesitantly  touched  the  door  before  he  opened  it . He closed the  distance   , he noticed  how pale  the  blonde  was . The monitor  beeping  , and the i.v  attached  to  his right arm . Raine  closed  his  eyes  and  held  back  a  sob .  Heaving  a  deep  breath ,  he  composed  himself . He caressed  a pale cheek  lovingly . 

"You  scare  me so  much .  I've  never  felt  like  this  before   ,and -and it scares me . Heh , when I saw  you go down ,  I  thought  I had  lost  you .  Raven  -I love you .  You're  my world .  You  make  me  feel  things  I  didn't  think  I was capable  of  feeling . "  

Raine  smiled  as  he  admitted  his  feelings  for  Raven .  Suddenly  the  smile  faded ,  and  was replaced  by  a  look of  determination . 

"I've had  enough  of  this .  I'm  not  letting  this  'Rocket  ' imposter  run  loose  anymore .  I'm  taking  him  down ,  and  whoever  else  gets in my way .   "

Needing  to  change  the  subject   ,Raine  spent  an hour talking  to  Raven  about  other things   ,then he left .  

 

Daniel  pulled the mask over his face and went to inspect  himself  in  the  mirror .   The next  part of his plan was already in motion . He smirked  as he looked  himself  in  the  mirror ,  he could really  pass for Rocket . With Gadjet  out of the way  he just had Kickback  to worry  about .  No problem  at all for him . For now he had someone  to  pick up .

Officer Frost looked  nervously around .  He had received  the  call  earlier   ,and he was told to be out the way . So since then  , he made sure  to keep the rest of the officers  away  from his area . Suddenly  a huge explosion  rocked the east gate . Turning  to look , Frost's eyes went wide as a lone motorcyclist appeared  from the smoke  . Even with the face covered with the  helmet ,  Frost knew who it was . The leather-clad figure  ran towards  the prison  court and extended  both arms and began shooting .  Not wanting  anyone  to get hurt , Frost  ordered the guards   to stand down . Only a handful  of  prisoners  were out and looking  confused .  The  leather-clad  figure  reached  one of the  prisoners --Kevin  Martel .  He glanced  at  the  figure  and smirked . 

"You're  here ?"

The helmet  --wearing  figure  nodded . 

"Damn right I'm here . Let's  go . Things  are  about  to  get  hit ."

Kevin  walked  alongside  ith the figure  , who crossed  his  arms  over his chest  , and unhooked  two small  objects . He yelled out ."Don't  follow   !" He threw the objects on the ground   ."Time to go  !" 

The figure and Kevin  ran towards  the now ruined gate and hopping  on the waiting  motorcycle ,  disappeared . Frost stood in shock as the other guards sprang  into action .  Then he scrambled  into action  himself   , and helped  secure  the prisoners. 

Daniel  sat on the sofa    still in his outfit .  He watched  Kevin  talk  on the phone .  The man hung up and grinned . 

"So nice to be free  . So tell me , what have you been up to  ?"

"Oh , not much , just the usual . "

Kevin  smirked . "Is  that right ?  Heh , that's not what I heard ."

Daniel  chuckled  and leaned back  on the couch . 

"Well ,  now that you mentioned  it  , I took care of your  Gadjet  problem .  Kickback  is next  on my list ."

"I knew you could do it . That''s my brother . "

Daniel  gave Kevin  a wide smile .  

"No one messes  with the Martels ,"

Raine  watched  as the reporter  spoke  about Rocket's latest   deed.  Now it seemed  that he broke  into the state prison . He  left with Kevin  Martel .  Raine   was  both shocked and confused .  What did this 'Rocket  ' have to do with Kevin  Martel ? Somehow  both had a connection ,  but  Raine  didn't know what it was . Now he not only  had to deal with his namesake ,but with Martel  as well . Rubbing  his hands  over his eyes , Raine  sighed . He could do it . He just needed  help . He wished  he could  think like Gadjet ,  the techno wiz . He glanced  at  the  various  objects  on the table .  Suddenly  a slow  grin appeared  on his face . He wasn't  Gadjet   , but He could think like him.

Raven opened  his  eyes . He tried  to  get  up  , but a sharp pain prevented  him from moving  to much . "Raven . " The blonde's eyes slid to the familiar  voice . 

"Li--little  one ."

Raine  smiled  as he gazed at Raven . "I used to gate it when you called me that ."

Raven  gave the shorter male a weak smile ."I know . "

After a  few  moments ,  Raven's expression  changed .

"I'm glad  you're  okay . "

Raine  frowned  at the blonde . 

"I --uh , think it's supposed  to  be  the other way around .  I'm glad  you're okay .  Anyway  Dr.Moore  said you should  make a full recovery .  You're  gonna be on you  feet soon ."

"Mmm , I could  think of some ... intresting  ways to pass the time ."

Raine  went tomatoe red as he  looked down .

"I'm glad  to see  this hasn't  affected  your  perverted  mind . "

Raven  smirked . "We'll  , I guess  this means Kickback  and Gadjet  will be out  for a while  then ."

"Why is that ?"

"Raine ,  you can't   go after  him alone . He's very  dangerous ."

"I can take care if myself   , Raven . "

"I know . I just don't  want  anything  to  happen  to  you ."

Not wanting  to  argue  with  Raven   , Raine  sighed . 

"Okay ,  let's  not argue ."

"I mean it ,Raine .  I ...care a lot  about  you .  "  

"We'll save this discussion  for when your  better .  Please . "

"I don't  know  what  I would  do without  you , little  one . I love you.  You know that  right ? I don't  want you doing  anything  stupid . "

Raine's eyes  narrowed as he looked  at  the  blonde . 

"  I love you  too ,  but  I  you know this Rocket  has to be stopped . I'm taking  him  down . That's  what we do ,and I'll be  damned if I let him run around  our city anymore . Trust  me . Trust  that I can do it ,  please . "

Raven  looked  back  and sighed .

"Okay . I can't  stop  you , but let me help  somehow . "

Raine  smirked  and touched  the blonde's hand .

"Wouldn't  have any other  way .  "  

Raine  stayed with Raven  for a while  and then left when the doctor  came by to check  on the blonde . 

Raine  went to the house  and decided  to look for useful  things . Most of the devices belonged  to Raven , and he sorted out the ones he could  use . He happen  to glance at Raven's tablet  and he picked  it up . He turned   it on and hummed to life . He swiped through  it and saw nothing  but tech jargon  at first   . Then he he saw pictures .  Two of them caught  his attention  in particular . One was of him and Raven  laying  in bed . The blonde  had his arms  around  the shorter  male  as they made funny  faces at the camera . The other had Raine .  He appeared  to  be  asleep  as the blanket  covered  the lower  half  of  his body . One arm was thrown above  his head while  the  other  was tucked  under his chin . Suddenly  feeling  like he was intruding   , Raine  shut off the device  and placed  it  back .  

"So they're  gay ? Who would've  thought   ?" 

Kevin   smirked  as he sat listening to Daniel . The other mimicked  the smirk . 

"Then again   , I'm not surprised .  Imagine  the look on their   faces  if the city   were to find out .  They would  be laughed  out of the city . "

Kevin   chuckled  

"As fun as that would be , we still  have  to be careful  with  those two ."

Daniel  scoffed . "Oh , please . I've had them on their  toes  since day one . "

"Be careful   , little  brother   , I made the mistake  of  underestimating  them  , and look what happened .   "

"I can handle  them , Kevin   , hell  ,I put  Gadjet  in the hospital .  We have then where we want  them ."

"It's not that I don't  want them to pay for putting  me in prison,  I just had time to think  ."

"Then let's do this , let's get  'em  !"

"You're  getting  overconfident . "

Daniel   scoffed  again  as he rolled  his eyes .  

"We got this  and they ll  regret  messing  with  the  Martels . "

Raven  was feeling  a little  better  and even   sat up . He watched  as Raine   ate an orange . 

"So , this Rocket  broke into  prison  and freed Kevin  Martel ? "

Raine   turned  to look at Raven .  He decided  to  tell  him  that before   he found  out. It was best  this way . Rather than him finding  out some other  way .

"Yes , I  thinking  they have a connection  to each  other   ."

"Considering this fool broke into a prison ,  I'm sure they do ."

"We need a plan . Your  brains and  my uh ...brawn ? "

Raven smiled .  Since  they talked last , he hated to admit it , but Raine  did have  the skills  to handle  himself  . He seen it first  hand when they met . The shorter  male  made sure  to hold back . It wasn't  in his nature  to hurt someone else ,  even if they tried  to hurt him ,

"You can bring them both down . I have faith  in  you .  "  

Raine looked  at Raven . 

"I -thank you . "

"Just  be careful .  Please . "

"I will "
