The Gathering

The Gathering:

Sklar woke in the period of darkness just before the dawn; he looked at all the night creatures gathered before him. There were bats, bearcats, bilbies, cockroaches, various felines and canines, mice, various night birds, lemurs, and many other nocturnal animals. Also assembled were werebeasts, vampires, Jorôgumo, Banshees and other creatures of the night. These night folk all pledged their loyalty to Sklar, Aklr and their fellow members of Sklar’s People as they now called themselves. They promised to help each other whenever and where ever needed, to watch each other’s back and also to continue Sklar’s message of helping in extreme cases. If they needed to feed they would not feed on each other and would not interfere if a fellow member was feeding off of one of their species. As the sun rose in the west the night people were replaced by members that walked during the daylight (diurnal) and later by crepuscular (twilight) creatures /animals. All, like their night siblings, pledged to Sklar to be of his people and to be at his service no matter what he asked of them. They would defend each other against their foes, both common and individual even against their own species. As the day ended with the eastern setting sun;   Sklar noticed that his family was sitting behind him and Aklr with smiles upon their faces. He heard a calling as from afar and on high.

The Eagle Hawk passed on the information about the troop and that the Sorcerer leading them was of the people, as was his new troop leader. It advised them that the Sorcerer had convinced the troop that Sklar had forced his friends by playing with time images to make it look that way. Also it stated that it would accompany them as their eyes in the sky from now on. The group decided that they would move out in the morning and that Tam would leave after tomorrow night.
