Tracking Harmony

The next 6 weeks flew by. Colby and Rem would work at the ranch and Kat would make calls about Caffee. But she stopped calling after 2 weeks and started thinking he had escaped into Mexico, just as the US Marshall’s believed.
She started working on things around the ranch, Contracts on horse training, lease and buying agreements. A local family was having a sergeant contract made up and ask if she could look it over.
She got into a routine, a quiet and peaceful routine. She was so happy, that she stopped thinking about Caffee every hour. They would work all day and make love all night, go into town and talk for hours. She got to know the town’s people better. Everyone welcomed her with open arms.
She knew she was home. In Harmony no one judged them when being out together or just being together. Colby and Rem still took her everywhere, never taking their eyes off of her. She had gotten used to always feeling safe.
She was excited about her night ahead; they were going out for the evening. The Waking Bear was a Favorite place; the local tavern was old and rustic with a small stage and dance floor. Tonight they were meeting up with the Twins, Rachel, Stef, and Becky. The place was buzzing with people. They were seated in the corner, talking and laughing. The men had gotten up to go to the bar for more drinks, while the waitress was busy.
Rachel looked at Kat.
"You’re looking pale. Are you feeling ok?"
I feel fine; it’s just hot in here." She was feeling a little wheezy, but didn’t want to ruin the evening.
The men returned and placed the drinks on the table. Kat eyed Rachel.
" Rachel aren’t you going to drink anything but iced tea tonight?"
Rachel looked to her husbands. They gave her a wink. "You can’t drink when you’re pregnant."
Becky, Stef and the Water brothers faces lit up. They hugged Rachel and slapped Max and Rye on their backs. Kat was thrilled for them, but she found herself counting in her head and looking down at the glass of wine.
She had been nauseous the pass two mornings and light headed tonight. She counted the days in her head twice. She was two and half weeks late. It couldn’t be true.
They were always safe. They were a condom ad. Then she remembered. The first night at the River, they couldn’t wait to get back to the ranch to take her. But it was only that one time. Her hands shot to her stomach. Oh my God, what would Colby and Rem do?
Colby and Rem both took her hands. "Babe what’s wrong?"
"Nothing I just need to use the lady’s room."
Kat stood and headed to the back hallway where the restrooms were located. She looked down the hall to the exit sign. She needed some air; she had to clear her head. She headed for the door and into the night. She stood there in the cool June night air. She placed her hands over her tummy again.
She always wanted children, but how would her men feel. It’s only been 6 weeks, but she knew she loved them both. They had told her time and time again they loved her. But now there was a baby. Would they be happy or reject her. A tear ran down her face, scared to know the answer.
The smell from the burning BBQ pit behind the tavern was making her stomach turn. She could hear someone messing with the pit. Travis the owner must be making ribs still. She stood there in the darkness for a moment, trying to get her head back on straight.
Her mind cleared with a shock. Travis was inside behind the bar serving drinks. Who was behind the tavern? She had made a mistake, she was alone. She turned to run for the door. It was too late, there was sharp pain shooting through her head and her world went black.
