Sloan fidgeted with his skirt again, the fabric between his fingers calmed him down them more he touched it. He hadn’t noticed how many people had come into the club, since Rae had had all of his attention at the time, and he was nervous with all the people. Sliding bodies moved together, sloppy kisses, and the music was blaring along with the lights, it almost made him believe that he was invisible by the bar.

Someone sat down beside him, Sloan smiled thinking it was Rae, only to frown once his eyes laid upon the man. His heart sank, it was Rick. Never could he mistake his ex-boyfriend when he saw him: His dark eyes bore down on him, making him feel insignificant, his black hair was slicked back showing off his two silver piercings that decorated the top of his left ear. He smirked, showing perfect teeth, as his eyes scanned Sloan’s figure. Sloan shivered at the look, it made him feel like bugs were crawling over his skin.

“Come to woo me, Sloan?” He asked smugly as he put his elbow on the counter and leaned over, closer, to the boy. “With that skirt you’re wearing it just might work.”

Sloan’s frown deepened and he moved away from Rick, as if his presence carried a horrid odor. “I’m not here to woo you.”

Rick let out a harsh laugh, “Really? Then someone else? You really are a little whore aren’t you?”

Sloan blushed in anger, his hands fisting in his lap, “I-I am not!”

Rick leaned forward, his face too close to Sloan’s as he whispered, “Oh yes you are. That’s why your in that skirt, and that revealing shirt. That’s why you’re here.”
Sloan was gritting his teeth, why wouldn’t the bastard leave him alone? “No, its not.”
“You have three seconds to get away from my man, before I rip something off.”

Rae’s growl made Sloan shiver in slight fear, but his heart jumped in delight. He turned and found the woman standing with her arms folded across her chest, a mean look smeared across her lovely face. For some reason the look and her stance made Sloan swoon.

Rick moved away but stayed in the chair that was beside Sloan. He gave Rae his trade mark smirk. “Your man? Sweet heart, the boy is gay. He will never be YOUR man.”

Sloan turned his gaze to Rae to see her reaction: she smirked. The look suited her and Sloan bit his lip as the need to kiss her almost overwhelmed him.

She chuckled darkly, “Gay? I would go with bi-sexual. Now, move or I will have you thrown out of the club.” Rae moved to stand beside Sloan and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Rick rolled his eyes, “Oh quit with the games! I know Sloan put you up to this just to make me jealous-”

Before Rick could continue, Sloan lost his temper and stood up to yell at the man, “She isn’t lying, this isn’t a fucking game, I am over you GET OVER IT!”

Rick stood up and slapped his hand across Sloan’s cheek, the force strong enough to turn the boy’s head to the side. “Don’t FUCKING yell at me!”

Sloan’s body shook with the rush of adrenaline and pain coursing through is body. He lifted a shaky hand to his face to touch the developing red mark that stung there. Rae moved from her spot beside him and over to Rick where, to Sloan’s surprise, she grabbed him by a fist full of his greasy hair and tugged him away.

“Ow, fuck, let go!” Rick yelled as he unwillingly followed the tall woman.

She walked up to one of the bouncers that stood near the bar and threw Rick at him. The bouncer was not surprised and caught Rick, twisting his arm around his back, before leading him away cursing and screaming. Rae turned back to Sloan and rushed back to his side.

“Let’s take you home.” She said softly as she wiped a tear from Sloan’s cheek.

When had he started crying? He took a deep breath to steady his voice, “Ok.”

Rae wrapped her arm around his shoulders and walked him out of the club. Sloan leaned in to her touch, grateful to get far away from Rick and closer to Rae. There was silence in the car as they drove home. Sloan felt as if he had ruined the night. If it hadn’t been for his ex-boyfriend they would have had a great time. He frowned and rubbed his cheek.

“Does it hurt?” She asked, her eyes still on the road as Sloan looked over at her.

“Its fine. He did worse when we were together.” Sloan was surprised as Rae moved her hand from the steering wheel and took his hand from his cheek and held it. “No, its not fine.” Her thumb rubbed over his hand affectionately.

Sloan blushed and moved his hand so that their fingers laced together. His heart raced at the innocent act. “I-” Sloan gulped, “I think I like you.”

Sloan was looking out his window when he told Rae this, so he didn’t see her light blush or small smile at his words. “Maybe I should beat up your Ex more often.”

They both laughed at the comment.
