More problems
Aiden sat with Natasha in his arms at the waiting room at the hospital, Patrick sitting next to him making baby noises at her in an attempt to keep her occupied. They were lucky having managed to get an appointment the very next day.
“Mr Thompson?"
Aiden looked up and smiled to his doctor. “I’m here.”
“If you’ll just follow me.” He said and lead them into a near lying office, sitting down and opening Aiden’s file, he smiled and said. “What can I do for you today, Aiden?”
Aiden handed Natasha over to Patrick and turned to his doctor. “We need a DNA test, for her.”
The doctor leaned back, fingers laced under his chin. “And how so?”
“We need to know who the father is.” Patrick said, his eyes never leaving Natasha. “We both did a mistake and it resulted in this lovely and charming young lady here. Her name is Natasha.”
The doctor nodded. “I see. Let us get started then, shall we?”
---
After the doctor’s appointment Aiden and Patrick made their way school, knowing there was no reason to put off the inventible. Patrick kissed Aiden quickly before going up to the office to see if their teachers and the principal was free for a meeting. Aiden on the other hand, wandered down the hall way and over to his classroom. Looking at his watch he saw that it was only five minutes till break time and decided to wait. Natasha was looking at him and waving her small arms around.
“I know, just a little while longer.”
Natasha seemed pleased with the answer and quiet down, while still looking around at the new, unfamiliar place she was at. Aiden smiled at her. Things hadn’t changed that much since she entered their life, but he suspected that it was still to come.
The door to his class room opened and Aiden braced himself for the oncoming storm. There was a high pitched squeal and he was surrounded by the girls in his class within seconds. They were asking question right and left, within seconds of each other. He held up one hand to silence them and smiled as Natasha let out a short wail, apparently not enjoying all the attention she was getting.
“Calm down everyone!” Patrick’s voice rang from outside the ring of people.
Aiden smiled gratefully as the group of girls separated to allow Patrick to get to him. Patrick took hold of Natasha and wound an arm around Aiden’s waist.
“Everyone meet Natasha, our daughter.”
---
An hour had gone by since they had broke the news to Aiden’s class. The girls had swapped on cooing over Natasha and carrying her. Aiden talked to his teacher, getting to know what he could do about school and Natasha.
“Are you sure you can handle all of this Aiden?” His teacher, Conrad, asked. “Sure girls do it all the time, but they usually have their family behind them. You and Patrick are all alone after what your parents did to you.”
“Well, what do you suggest I do then?” Aiden asked.
“My best suggestion is giving her up for adoption.” Conrad said. “That way she will get a good life, like she deserves.”
Aiden looked scandalized. “Me and Patrick already talked about adoption, and we quickly realised that wasn’t an option. And what makes you think she can’t get a good life with me and him?”
Conrad sighed. “It’s not that I don’t think that she won’t have a good life with you two, but there are people in this world that thinks two men raising a child together is wrong. You just turned eighteen, Aiden, and Patrick isn’t even twenty.”
“I know all this, but she’s our baby.” Aiden stressed. “Things won’t be easy for us with the lifestyle we are living, that’s why I’m asking you to make it just a bit easier for us.”
Conrad rubbed his bald head. “The best thing I can think off is one of you to get a leave of absence for the year.”
Aiden bit his lip. “But that would mean one of us would loose our stipend, which again would mean one of us would have to get another job.”
Conrad nodded at this. “It’s not an ideal situation, but if you two aren’t willing to give her up for adoption, it’s all that’s available for you.”
Frowning, Aiden looked over his shoulder at Patrick holding Natasha while talking to their friends. Turning back to Conrad, Aiden had a look of determination on his face.
“How do I get a leave of absence?”
---
Aiden had sought refuge in their bedroom and had locked the door, keeping himself and Natasha separated from Patrick. Patrick hadn’t like the idea of Aiden taking a leave of absence for a year. It had been so bad, that Aiden had for a moment feared for his life, knowing that Patrick sometimes had a difficulty controlling his temper.
Natasha had fallen asleep in the middle of their bed, with him curled around her. There was a knock on the door, a thud like sound.
“Aiden, open the door.” Patrick slurred.
Aiden looked at the door, before getting up and putting Natasha in the crib. He gently stroked her cheek with the back of his hand, before going to the door to open it. Patrick stumbled in with a beer in his hand, the content dripping onto the floor.
Aiden acted quickly, taken the bottle from Patrick and put it on the chest of drawers. Strong arms circled his waist and lips attached themselves to his neck. Aiden sighed and tried to shake Patrick off, but it had no affect.
“Get off, Patrick.”
Patrick grounded his hips into him, making it clear what he wanted.
“I’m not in the mood, Patrick, so get off.” Aiden said, turning around abruptly and looked Patrick square in the eyes, noting how dilated the pupils were. “You’re drunk, go sleep it off on the sofa.”
Patrick leered. “And what if I don’t want to? Come on, Addy love.”
“I said no, Patrick.”
Patrick huffed and took a step back. Aiden took a deep breath and was about to turn again, when Patrick grabbed his arm and practically threw him onto the bed.
“Patrick.” Aiden yelled, but was silenced with a firm pair of lips over his.
Patrick took no time in divesting them of their clothes. Aiden had placed his hands on Patrick’s chest, trying desperately to push him off.
“Patrick, stop it!” Aiden yelled so loudly Natasha woke up, and Patrick seemed to snap out of his stupor.
Patrick looked at Aiden with wide eyes, before rolling off and stumbling out of the room. Aiden bit his lip harshly and found his boxers on the floor, before going to get Natasha. He hold her firm to his chest, rocking back and forth to make her sleep again.
As Natasha was once again sleeping, Aiden walked over to the door, locking it and placing a chair underneath the handle. He walked back to the bed and curled up on it.
So many things had changed for them since Natasha had entered their life. He couldn’t help but remember his one words right before Yasmine came with Natasha.
‘I hope things never change.’

Thanks again to Lisa for reviewing. First off I have no idea how one gets an DNA test, it's take from my imagination I'm afraid. I feel sorry for Aiden, I do, but they do love each other and Patrick would never really hurt him. Thanks for reading and please feel free to review if you have time!
