Chapter 4

Yay, another chapter. I’m happy to be writing so much again and thank all my readers and reviewers. You guys keep me writing, which I love to do. Anywho enough rambling, on with the story.

Another rock pelted me in the back of my head. I continued walking and as expected another rock hit my ear. I sighed, about to turn around when a rather large boulder came rushing toward my face. I ducked in time and shot a glare at the woman behind me

“Hey! What the hell Tsukiko! I said sorry a million times.” I yelled.

“Traitor. Look. At. Me.” She snarled.

I did, holding back my laughter the best I could. She was covered from head to toe in mud. I couldn’t stop myself any longer as she wavered slipping on her own feet and falling on her butt.

“You Bastard!!!” She screamed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we fell from the train I remembered that, no, I could not fly. We plummeted to the ground fast, Tsukiko screaming in my ears. They were starting to ring, causing me to lose focus so I put my hand over her mouth and pressed my void in front of me to lessen the impact of the fall. She bit me and I lost my grip on her, aiming her to what looked like a softer part of the ground. Apparently it had been a large puddle of mud.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I’m sorry, okay?” I replied.

“What has caused this insanity? Was the train not moving fast enough for you, my Prince.” She sneered.

I sighed, and she took that as an invitation to throw another rock. I grabbed it mid-air and began to walk toward the stream in front of us. She looked past me and charged for the water, her anger temporarily subdued. She cleaned herself thoroughly as I took in our surroundings. We were about a day or two’s walk from Nosoku’s Isle. The forest trees extended high into the skies, and I inhaled the fresh scent of floral dirt, scented by the flowers that tickled the roots of the trees. The purple stems connected to a lush green leaf, accenting the natural brown of the tree trunk. Small holes ran along each tree, letting out small exhales with a sweet smelling scent. The fruit on the top of the tree had just turned ripe enough to eat. I turned my eyes to the half sun, its orange heat warm on my skin. I ran my hand along the ground beneath me where dirt met the light sand that formed a small barrier around the creek and I lavished in their different textures. This world always amazed me with its complexities, much better than—

“So are you going to tell me why we jumped out of a moving train?”

She said this as she sat next to me, digging her toes into the sand. I sighed not wanting to really get into it. She kept staring at me, waiting for my answer, so I moved to get up. She straddled me immediately, preventing me from moving. I then noticed she was still wet from her recent swim, the water making her skin sparkle. For a second her eyes were hard, and it looked like she was about to yell at me for not answering her question. Her natural instincts kicked in faster, and she shivered as she leaned down into my warmth. Her eyes had glazed over and she stopped, only a hairs breath away from my face.

“If you do not answer me traitor, I will kiss you.” She whispered.

“As frightening as that is, I’ll pass.” I snorted.

“Oh? I do believe that is what caused us to be on the run in the first place, no? Or did whatever cause you to flee so fearfully from the train, take away your memory AND your pride?” She said.

I stilled at her words, glaring for all I was worth until she leaned forward. My arms shot out and she hissed as my claws dug into her skin. I moved her off of me and took a deep breath.

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Traitor! What do you fear so that you would almost kill us both! Is the ghost of Ryuunosuke so close—“

At the name I turned sharply to her. My eyes bore into hers, stopping her from speaking as the words died in her throat.

“You foolish child. Do you even know why it is you call me traitor.” I growled.

“Of course. You betrayed those who worship Anon, God of childbirth who blessed my people with the gift of cleansing children, by killing his mate Ryuunosuke and their unborn child. Overcome with jealousy and guilt, you fled like a coward.” She stated.

She said the words as though they had been drilled into her head and repeated many times over. For a moment I simply stared at her, letting the words wash over my skin. I had heard the many different versions of what happened and none were ever right. She had been misled, like all the others.

“No, I shall tell you what happened on the eve of my twelfth moon cycle…”

Shin kneeled, eyes completely white and glazed over. He leaned forward his hands coming into contact with the cool marble floor beneath his naked body. His eyes failed to take in the glamorous surroundings, unseeing as they were. The chamber was dark, stone walls covered in shelves holding innumerable objects of pleasure and torture. A rack stood off to the side, barely drying blood leaking unto the floor. A large chair sat in front of Shin, a man dressed in all red sitting quietly, observing. The man had black eyes, his short cropped black hair resting against the black arrow shaped scales on his forehead. His hands held deadly claws that were clasped around a chalice of wine. He sipped slowly, watching.

Shin grunted as a searing heat, heavy and familiar entered him. He had long since been used to the pain and his body did not respond as the faceless human grunted and rocked inside him. Another came to his face, peeling back his lips, and Shin accepted his girth into his mouth. Sucking dryly the man grunted and pulled out to punch Shin swiftly in the jaw. Blood dribbled from his lips and the man continued, his length gliding against the blood to make for an easy and pleasurable slide. The man watching waved his hand after a while, the two forms moving into the shadows. Shin trembled as the man came forward, the man smirking at his reaction.

“My beautiful Shin, why do you not scream for me anymore?” The man said to himself.

The man gestured to a figure cloaked in a black robe, and spoke a moment before throwing the wine to the floor in rage. His hand lifted to slap the figure, instead descending to leave gashes down Shin’s back. The poisonous claws dug deep, tearing flesh as they worked their way down.

“You see?! He does not scream, he does not move! I ordered you to do the Orokana spell, I thought it was supposed to make him docile not a useless doll!” He screamed.

“B-but Ryuunosuke-sama, the spell has done what you wished. He…will not fight you any longer. He obeys your wishes, does with his body what you command. He can feel you and look his eyes still burn in hatred.” The robed creature bowed.

“I want his screams. Fix this.” Ryuunosuke demanded.

The figure removed his hood, revealing his tattoos that told of his years of a shaman, that they covered his face meant he was very powerful. He began to chant and Shin glowed for a moment, his body rising to its feet, his bangs covering his eyes. The spell had been lifted only so much as to let Shin speak. The shaman stepped back, but Shin began to shake. His skin had started to quiver, fluttering away from his bones and he had begun to once again glow.

“What is the meaning of this?!” The shaman asked.

He backed away in fear, his hand forming the symbols to bind Shin’s void. There was too much and the shaman flew across the room, hitting the racks, and crashing to the ground. Ryuunosuke looked back to Shin, his void rising to control the child before him.

When the glow faded, Shin moved.

Blood.

There was so much blood.

Shin raced to his room, his eyes bright red with insanity, chunks of flesh falling from his hands with every step. He could hear someone calling his name, begging him to stop. He couldn’t, he had to get out, to escape. He stopped when a force prevented him from moving forward, turning to see Anon standing behind him. His belly was swollen with child, the seed of Ryuunosuke. Shin let out a blood curdling scream as he shot forward, his hand going through Anon’s stomach as he cried out in a rage so pure that the heavens themselves opened up to release Anon from his hold, and in a flash of light, Shin was gone.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsukiko chocked back sobs as I finished, her face twisted in horror. I slowly placed my hand on her shaking form and she collapsed into me.

“Tra—Shin, I…” She stopped.

There was nothing to say. I got up and she followed as we made our way into the forest. There was no more talk of my past nor the incident on the train. The travel was easy, and we did not need to use our disguises as humans did not live in the forests. It wasn’t until night fall, as we began to make camp that Tsukiko spoke.

“I will protect you.” She vowed.

I considered telling her it was not necessary, but decided against it. It had been years since anyone had wanted to protect me. She smiled when I nodded and we slept in the tops of the trees. The branches were thick and sturdy enough to hold our weight, and they also provided us with a view of the ground in case we had been followed. I rested my head against the trunk, falling in an easy sleep. I had long ago gotten rid of my nervousness of sleeping, realizing the monsters that were trying to get me were more often my own imagination. Besides, I was a fully grown man and could take care of myself.

“Ahhhhhh!”

My head jerked up in time for a body to land on my face. The figure wrapped itself around my head before I pulled it off, staring at its face. I was about to open my mouth as Tsukiko came from the branch above me catching the bundle in my hands and pulling him down to the ground with her. She readied her claws as they landed on their feet on the forest floor, and she lunged forward to attack,

“Tsukiko, no!!!!” I screamed.

I’m moving along in this story. Hope you all enjoyed and thanks for reading. Now review, please. Let me know your thoughts, your questions, anything. ^_^ time for sleep.
