Now the shit's on your shoe!
Trevor settled in nicely back in Charleston. He lived with Maddy for awhile until he got a place of his own out in Hannahan. Not a real nice place, but nice enough for him... He worked for her father\'s firm there in Charleston and was making excellent money. He bought a new car...slowly putting the pieces of his life back together.
It took almost a year to recover from the devastation Dave had left behind...
And coming home one rainy afternoon, Trevor did not expect to see the man\'s car parked in his driveway. He slowly pulled up beside the car, seeing Dave sitting on his front porch, smoking...waiting for him.
Trevor shut his car off, then slowly got out and eyed the man, "What are you doing here?"
Dave looked up at him, "I came to apologize."
"Why?"
"I hurt you bad...and I didn\'t realize just how badly...til like...two weeks ago. I\'m stationed there in Goose Creek...at PSD. I..." He stood up slowly, putting his cigarette out. He moved up to Trevor slowly, "I\'m so sorry baby...I was a damned fool. I didn\' know what I had til it was gone...and...god, I didn\'t realize how much losin\' you would hurt me. I\'m so sorry...please...can..can we go inside and talk? I..I wanna make it up to you."
Trevor frowned and took a step back, then moved around the man to get to his front door, "Make it up to me? God...David..nothing you can do...will ever...No. Just...no. I can\'t... Look, I spent the better part of the year trying to forget you...and how do I know you\'re not trying to screw me over again?"
David ran a hand through his hair, "That\'s what I wanna try and make up to you. Janet was just a fling...and the kid wasn\'t mine. Was some..black guys...I dunno."
Trevor groaned and rubbed his face, "Look, just..go home. I don\'t want to see you. I don\'t even wanna talk to you right now..."
"God, baby..please..just hear me out?"
"Fine! God damn it. Take your shoes off at the door. I have white carpet." He opened the door to his home and led the man inside against all better judgment. The second he had the door closed, David was on him, kissing him and trying to get his shirt off.
Trevor pushed the man back and glared at him, "Just what the hell...do you think you\'re doing?!"
"Making it up to you."
Trevor frowned, "No..no...do not fucking touch me alright? Go sit yer ass on the couch. I\'ll get us some beers...then you can talk. Just..don\'t touch me."
David held his hands up, then went to the couch and sat down, shrugging out of his jacket. Trevor headed up stairs and got changed, then came back down and grabbed the beer out of the fridge. Moving back into the living room, he handed a beer to Dave, then sat down in his favorite chair, "Start talkin\'."
Dave took a deep breath, "Alright...I thought...I was in love with Janet..but...you were right. She\'s a total whore. So..I split from her..and..did some soul searching...and...I know..I know...I said I was...straight..but..I lied...I..I thought about it..and...How can I be straight...if the person I wanna be with...is the same gender as me?"
"David, this was never about gay or straight...This was about you n\' me. And what you did. Never...never...have I done wrong by you. Never."
"I know..I know...I\'m..retarded, remember? I threw away something..so perfectly good..and...God damn, Trev...I want you back, bad..I can\'t eat..I can\'t sleep...I miss you so much baby...please...please..forgive me...I\'ll never...ever do anything to hurt you again."
Trevor shook his head, "No...not now...just...I...I..can\'t...I can\'t. I can\'t take you back. Not after what you did. I...I can\'t even look at you the same. And I know for a fact I\'ll never trust you again...so no."
"Can I stay the night at least?"
"No. Finish your beer, then get the fuck out."
David sighed and downed the beer, then got up, grabbed his coat, then headed for the door, "i\'m not gonna go away..."
Trevor snorted, "Restraining Order."
"Fine..."
