Chapter Four: Not a Sweetheart
What the fuck??? was all that came to mind as Alex felt the other boy’s tongue enter his mouth. He had thought this boy was dating Lance, so why was he kissing him?! After another few moments, the boy finally pulled away, his brown hair hanging in front of his eyes. “You taste like candy,” the other teen joked.
“Yeah, well… Why the hell did you kiss me?!” Alex demanded, getting a look from the boy. “Aren’t you going out with Lance?”
The brunette crossed his arms over his chest. “We broke up. He says he doesn’t want his folks to find out he’s gay.” He grinned as he added, “So I thought I’d try to make him jealous.”
Alex frowned, getting to his feet. “So I’m just a tool to you, huh?”
“Well, you’re the only other guy I know that is gay. At least openly.” He stood up too and offered his hand to the frowning blonde. “I’m Cody.”
“… Alex.” After shaking hands with Cody, he started back on his way home again. “Good luck winning Lance back without my help.”
“Hey, hey.” Cody caught up to him easily. “Come on, it won’t be so bad. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to win him back, even if I gotta have sex with you.”
Alex stopped to give Cody a shocked look. “Dude… you’re really screwed up in the head, aren’t you?”
“At least I don’t claim to be an actual rainbow,” the brunette countered. “Or are you colorblind?”
Glaring at him, Alex answered, “I happen to like the way I look. You look like you could care less about your appearance.”
“Well, because it’s true,” replied Cody, looking down at his own attire of a pair of blue jeans and a boring gray t-shirt. His sneakers which were once white were now gray and worn. “I don’t give a damn how I look, as long as I get some action from the sexy god known as Lance.”
“Obsessive little freak,” Alex muttered under his breath. “I’m not helping you get him back.”
“Ah.” Cody looked him over, examining him. “My rival then…”
“No, I’m not that either!”
“Then help me!”
“No!!”

Groaning, Alex dropped his head onto the table. It was lunchtime and the cafeteria was quickly filling. Cody happily sat next to him. “I knew you’d agree to it eventually.”
“You threatened to turn me into a girl… any sane guy would agree it, especially after you pulled out that freaking knife!”
“I was a boy scout in elementary school,” Cody admitted. “My dad thought it’d be a good idea.” Then, grinning at the distressed blonde next to him, he said, “If you’re into bondage, I’m great a tying knots, though I guess rope would be kinda painful. I think I can find my parents’ cuffs again…”
Who would have thought I wouldn’t be the strangest person in school…? Alex thought glumly to himself. I had no idea guys like him actually existed! I thought that was only in fiction! His thoughts broke as he felt a hand creep up his thigh, getting dangerously closer to that one, still forbidden, spot. “Please don’t do that,” the blonde whined, grabbing Cody’s hand and pushing it away.
“Hehe, wow, you’re so shy,” the brunette teased.
“Cody?” Both boys looked up to see the object of Cody’s obsession, Lance. “When did you become friends with Alex?” He sat down across from them. “I thought you hadn’t met him.”
“Oh, we met last night.” Cody’s smile was so bright, Alex actually considered buying a new pair of sunglasses, just so that he could handle these chance meetings without being blinded by disgust. “You didn’t mention his shyness.”
“Shy…? Are you sure you’re talking about this Alex?” Lance wondered.
“Yes, I am.” Cody leaned across the table. “So what made you come back to me, sweetheart?”
The black-haired teen only looked at him for awhile, before coming up with a response. “I never was your ‘sweetheart’.”
Alex stared. “… Never? Really?”
“Cody is just…” Lance tried to find the right words, “Well, he’s more of a friendly stalker than a lover or anything.”
“Oh, you know we’re meant to be,” Cody told him. “Stop lying.”
“I’m not lying, silly.”
Alex had lost his appetite for the day at this point. So, there never was an actual relationship, so then there never was an actual break up. Also, this meant there was no actual reason to help Cody ‘win Lance back’ at all! Except for the, well, turning him into a girl threat. Sighing, the blonde quietly listened to the two argue about their non-existent relationship, wondering to himself, What the hell have I gotten myself into?
