Daydreaming
Author Note: Oh my Lord, I was shocked at the rampage of reviews I received on this so fast! It does my heart good! Now I have been meaning to do this for a while so here I go :]
To My Delightful Readers
Shyann: Thank you for being such a devoted reader to the Life as a Zombie story! If it wasn't for you I probably would of never gotten past chapter one! Much love to you!
Pauliliana: Thank you for your review, I enjoy zombies and I just had a sudden urge to write a story on their point of view, I mean who is to say a dead person cannot love!
Speachestx: Thank you, I know it's a little twisted, morbid, and gorey but if they were perfect looking they wouldn't be zombies! I think the moral of my story shall be “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” which may be taken very literally in this story, especially with Matilda *winkwinknudgenudge*!
Eve Dwyre: Yeah, I mean I love vampires and werewolves as much as the next person but they get boring after a while! So thank you!
Usmorgan: Thank you! I'm so happy I graduated lol, and thank you, I enjoy when someone really appreciates a story I wrote!
And once again thank you everyone who rated, reviewed, and read this story, I love you!

If I touch a burning candle I can feel no pain
If you cut me with a knife it's still the same
And I know her heart is beating
And I know that I am dead
Yet the pain here that I feel
Try and tell me it's not real
For it seems that I still have a tear to shed
Tears to Shed from The Corpse Bride soundtrack
James just smiled at her knowingly and stroked her hair, “I felt as if my heart would break if I were to be separated from you, I know this sounds mushy and like romantic propaganda, but I have never felt this way before. Isn't it funny that I feel more alive dead than when I was actually living?”
Sammy chuckled at that last ironic statement, “I know what you mean it's like. . . A brand new world where everyone is accepting. It doesn't matter what you look like, nobody is rich nor poor. We are all just corpses trying to make it through our undead lives.”
“Exactly!” His undead glassy eyes would be twinkling right now if he were alive.
James and Sammy spent hours talking about their past lives as humans, what they did, who they loved. Sammy learned that James had graduated from college with the hopes of being a teacher because he loved children. When he was in high school he was on the track team. James on the other hand learned that Sammy graduated high school with the hopes of attending college, even though she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life.
When it was finally nighttime James walked her to where Tyler was and kissed her hand politely, and saw a burning in Sammy's eyes that reflected his own. Even though they had not known each other long they both knew it was only a matter of time before they became mates, and while zombies were once human they were more like civilized wolves. They stayed together in a pack, took care of their own, and most of all they mated for life, or in this case death.
While zombies do not sleep they do dream, and Sammy dreamed of James. She dreamed of caressing touches, loving whispers, and lust. Oh yes, she felt lust for this undead man, so strongly she thought it could be the beginning of love, or was it the other way around? She couldn't tell anymore when it came to him. James came into her world and spun her around to the point that she didn't know up from down.
“Did you have a nice time?” the question from her adopted father, her creator, Tyler, interrupted her lewd fantasies. If Sammy were alive she would have been blushing.
“He is the most interesting person I have ever met, we share so much of the same things, and we are so much alike.” She smiled fondly remembering the way he kissed her hand goodnight, the thought sent delightful chills down her spine.
“Hmm. . . “ he replied thoughtfully, “Let us just hope he isn't as stubborn as you.”
“I am not stubborn!”
He just snorted in disbelief and shook his head, “Child, if you're not stubborn then my brain must be rotting.”
“But we can't rot. . . “
“Oh sweetie,” he laughed, “I do believe that was the joke.” Ruffling her hair he left her to sit and daydream some more. Though whether she was daydreaming about James or the upcoming hunt he didn't know.
