Chapter 3 pt. 2
Angel could hardly breathe. The second she\'d walked into the room he could feel her. He almost hadnt noticed, so used to her presence , but this time was diffrent. She wasnt just watching from some far away place, she was there. He could smell her.
Involuntarily all his muscles clenched, he grew expremely tense, and his eyes breifly rooled back into his head. He had to get a hold on himself before anyone noticed. Un doing the first few buttons on his shirt he released his tie. He knew it covered his marks, but at the moment he could care less about anyone seeing. He couldnt breathe.
Don turned to him, brows furrowed silently asking what was wrong. Knowing he couldn\'t think enough to be able to articulate what was happening. Not to mention the fact that he didn\'t know what was going on himself. Eventhough he was using every bit of his self control he couldnt help but let his eyes follow her when she left to get the drinks.
He watched her as she came back and almost stumbled, and lost all the drinks. Only his brother\'s advanced speed and focus saved her from wasting them all over the Dean. He watched as the girl he assumed was her boss frowned and mumbled soemthing rude to her. The fact that he and probably his uncle and cousins had heard also was probably the only reason he didnt growl at her.
He was being completely barbaric. He had to get himself together and quickly. The fact that he wasnt engaging in the conversation that was flowing around him earned him an odd look from Isaac and a glare from Dixon. The last thing he needed was for Dixon to figure out what was affecting him so he straightened up and tried to eat as quickly as he could ( which wasnt that hard since he naturally ate faster than humans anyway since he had to eat twice as much to get full ) while still looking normal.
As far as he was conserned he this dinner couldnt be over soon enough.
"What happened out there?" Donovan asked as he watched Angel\'s eyes dart all over the room. He\'d noticed that his brother was on edge and he\'d tried to calm him down.
"That was her."
"What? Who?" Don asked frowning.
"The girl, the one thats always watching."
Donovans eyes grew in size and he had to work to stop his eyes from changing. The girl that had been plaguing his cousin\'s mind for years! No wonder he was so upset.
"It isnt the blonde is it?" Angel laughed at the absolutely horrified look on his face and shook his head. "Good, cause she looks kinda manly."
Angel laughed,"Shut up. She was the tiny one."
Donovan nodded, searching the crowd for her. " Are you gonna go find her? Ask her why she\'s been looking in on your life?"
Angel knew he had to try finding her but he didn\'t really think that she was really looking in, as donovan had put it. She hadn\'t shown any signs of recognizing him, and she hadn\'t acted strange. He actually wouldn\'t have recognized her had it not been for her scent, and that puzzled him as well because he\'d never smelled it before. But the second the crisp, fresh scent hit his nose he knew it was her.
"I don\'t think she\'s been doing it purposely, but i need to find her. I have to find her."
Donovan\'s eyes snapped back to Angel\'s. The urgency in his voice and on lis face was a shock to the man. Seeing that sort of strong emotion on the face of his most stoic relation honestly unnerved him. Angel had never shown that much emotion since he was a cub.
"What about the meeting with Isaac?"
Angel cursed softly, he\'d completely forgotten about the meeting he had with Isaac about whether or not this was the right place for the pack or not. "You can do it."
"What! No...no no" Donovan shook his head vigorously. "I can\'t. Your the heir for a reason Ang. I cant make a decision like that, you know that."
Angel sighed, and tugged at the braid of midnight black hair that hang halfway down his back. He knew he couldnt ask Donovan to take care of his resopnsibilities. As heir it was his job to consult the Khote on all changes that would affect the pack since when it was time for Isaac to step down the pack would be his.
"I know. Look ill just make sure i get back in time to be there."
"Why dont you just tell him what\'s going on?"
Before Angel could answer he felt his other cousin\'s presence. He immediately stiffened.
"What were you talking about?"
Donovan and Angel shared a look, mutually agreeing not to tell Dixon about the girl. They knew how he felt about humans, and he definately wouldnt approve of a human looking in on one of their lives.
"Nothing. What were you doing?"
Dixon sighed, and frowned " Father had me talking to some of the students. I can\'t believe he\'s acutally going to make us come here. We dont need to learn anything from these humans, if anything they should be learning about us. "
"I think it\'s pretty interesting here." Donovan smiled.
"You would. You practically adore these pathetic wasteful skin sacks."
“Maybe they don\'t know that they’re destroying other species’ natural living environments.” Donovan grinned and looked at Angel. He’d just given him a way out of the conversation. Inclining his head subtly He quickly turned and began his search for the girl that watched.
As soon as dinner had finished Legend quickly headed into the kitchen, she didn\'t even bother offering to help Ceddrick with the dishes like she usually did, she just made her way as quickly as possible. She wasn\'t sure when she’d finally realized that he was the man from her dreams but when she had, she was instantly paralyzed. It couldn\'t really be him right? This just had to be some kind of weird pseudo deja vu thing her mind was doing. Maybe he has the same hair or was maybe even wearing a shirt that looked similar to what Angel had worn in her dream and her mind has immediately recognized it as being him. Just like she was looking over some major details or something. She hadn\'t gotten very much sleep the night before anyway, she was probably just tired...right?
“Oh my God!”
“L? Are you okay?” she jumped when she felt her best friend Chanel’s hand on her shoulder. “You looked kinda flustered when you were walking out of there. That bitch Rhiannon didn\'t say anything to you did she?”
Legend shook her head, closing her eyes and exhaling before she began on chanel’s questions. “ I’m okay-”
“Legend More! What in all fiery hell is wrong with you? You saw me wrestling with all those dishes!” Ceddrick exclaimed looking down at his shirt and brushing imaginary food off of it.
“Oh stop being such a girl, ced, you didn\'t get a drop of anything on that shirt. Leave legend alone, something is bothering her.”
Ceddrick walked over to her and his frown quickly dropped when he saw the look on her face. “What happened precious?”
Despite her inner monologue she couldn\'t accept the fact that he ha been anything other than Angel. He’d said his name was Pierce, but she knew it was him. “Its him”
Ceddrick and Chanel looked at each other and spoke at the same time. “Who?”
“Angel.” She whispered, tears filling her eyes. She didn\'t know why but fro some reason she was ready to cry.
“Angel?” Ced frowned, “Whoa whoa wait the guy you’ve been having wet dreams about for like ...ever?”
Chanel glared at him and elbowed him in the stomach. “Ow!”
“L honey are you sure?” Chanel asked watching Legend wring her hands, “ Maybe he just looked like him, you know how you dont always pay that much attention. Oh and you don\'t even have on your glasses! He could have been anyone.”
“ It was him.” Legend persisted looking up at her friends, her eyes wide. “It was him and he knew.”
“Oo girl was he cute?” ceddrick asked and earned another elbow to the ribs from Chanel.
“Could you be serious for one moment in your life? Can you be a good friend and help me convince her that it wasn\'t him?”
“How do you know? You din’ see him. Hell it could have been him. “
“Oh god!” Legend whimpered.
“Ceddrick!”
“What? It was him!” ceddrick squealed. “She may have been dreaming of him, but subconsciously her magic must have had her actually connected to him. She was unintentionally watching him.”
“ How could this have happened? I’m just a level one, i couldn\'t have! I..I don\'t even have those kinds of powers.” Legend’s eyes were growing bigger by the second and she knew if she didn\'t slow her breathing, she’d have an asthma attack.
“Well, honey-” Ceddrick began
“L, calm down okay. In through your nose out through your mouth. “ Chanel coached lifting Legend’s arms above her head, to extend her lungs. “That’s it, keep going honey. “
“Whoa.” Ceddrick frowned, looking toward the door.
“What?” Legend gasped.
“I...” He paused and closed his eyes for a second. “Is he tall, black hair, gorgeously sun kissed brown skin-” Angel nodded, and Chanel interrupted.
“Get on with it.”
“Umm he’s coming. He’s fucking gorgeous.”
“Coming? What do you mean coming? Coming here? In here?” Legend jumped up panicking. He couldn\'t come in there! He’d find her! She didn\'t exactly know why her body was telling her to run, and run now, but she had always been one to listen to her instincts.
“Yea.” Ceddrick dazed, walked toward the door.
“Oh my god.” Legend shook Chanel’s grasp on her arms away and grabbed her purse and practically ran out the back door, she didn\'t even wait to tell anyone where she was going, she just ran. Which was probably a bad idea but she wasn\'t thinking about anything but putting as much space between them as she could.
