Posting this one late at night/early in the morning (local time) because I have just added another few sentences to this little labour of love on my original word version.

The barbecue was one big party. The whole gang got together on one huge table and talked about TV, music, and internet stuff they had come across while eating. Alex felt at ease and somehow, also strangely popular. Alex had never had many friends at school, so it was a new experience for him to be looked at and listened to non stop. Whenever he told a joke, which mostly had to do with the crazy stuff he had gone through at school, waves of laughter spread around the table. Even their group leader was laughing along. With the time, Alex’s rush grew. But even as he himself thought he was getting rather annoying, his crowd cheered on him. It was a fact: he had made friends in his new town. And it had only taken him three days.

On his way back home, Alex raced Stan and won easily. Out of breath, Stan threw his bike on the street.
‘Man, you know I can’t win that,’ he gasped, frustrated, his hands on his knees, but still smiling.
‘I just had to better at something,’ Alex said. ‘Just let me win once in a while.’
They went upstairs, and as if it had become a routine, Stan sat down in front of Alex’s keyboard and played a few minutes away. Alex grabbed a chair and sat beside him. Stan made space for him.
‘Okay, you do the chords, alright?’
‘Yup.’
‘You know this song, don’t you?’
‘I do.’

It just happened. Alex made a few mistakes in the beginning, so they started over for three times. That time, everything went perfectly. They slowed their pace, they fastened it. They moved closer to each other, then widened the distance, carefully not to touch each other’s hands.

Alex sighed, losing himself while listening to Stan’s tune and his own. He shouldn’t. He should concentrate on playing the right keys. It was a simple tune, if you thought about it, especially when you only played half of it…

As they finished their song slowly, touching the keys at the exact right time, Stan laid his eyes on Alex. Alex looked back and almost forgot which notes to play. Almost. He played it until the final note, not wanting to cast his eyes down. He could play without looking at the keyboard, too, you know. Still, it was a bit too late to avoid what they both knew was going to happen. Stan moved closer to him, slowly; he put his head to one side and laid his lips on Alex’s. Alex suppressed a moan as he felt how soft and wet Stan’s lips were. He didn’t want to react, didn’t want to give in to the boy he had just wanted to have in his band and to be friends with. There was no way in hell he was going to actually make out with him. He thought of his girlfriend, so many miles away. He tried to think of her as hard as he could; her long brown hair, her dark eyes, and her sexy figure; but it was as if he had lived his life at home and with his girlfriend in another, no longer existent world. He opened his mouth and Stan did the same. It took Alex a few moments before he realized he felt another guy’s tongue in his mouth, and when he did, his heart sped up and he grabbed Stan’s shoulders, because he loved it. A boy’s tongue was, first of all, bigger than a girl’s tongue, which made it feel a lot more intense; secondly, it wasn’t as sweet and innocent as a girl’s kiss. More or less, it felt like a struggle to him; some sort of battle to see who’d win over the other. And that sort of thing was just that in which Alex was better, compared to Stan. Therefore, it didn’t take long for Alex to know how to do this, and he had the upper hand soon enough. He opened his eyes for a quick check on Stan’s face. Wow. He sure was enjoying this, maybe even more than Alex was. He didn’t make a sound, maybe because he didn’t dare make one. But it was clear to Alex what kind of sounds he would have made, had he done so. Thinking about how excited little Stan had to be gave him an instant hard-on.

With a soft sound, hardly audible, their lips parted. Both boys stared at each other for an intensely confusing while. Without really being aware of it, Alex was contemplating about how playing a quatre mains piece was in fact very much like having sex, worrying about the future of his relationship, and remembering the warm feeling of Stan’s mouth, and through all of that, quick thoughts about his hopefully soon-to-be band were flying through his mind. His eyes were fixed on Stan’s, painted in a colour so brown they made him think of the eyes of a deer or a bunny.

Stan coughed and stared at the floor for a moment. He tapped his fingers to his knees, then suddenly got up.
‘Do you have a pen and some paper?’
Alex gave him a puzzled look, but handed him some stuff he might find useful: a notebook and a pencil.
Stan sat down on the couch on the other side of the room, opened the notebook and started writing.
‘What are you gonna do with it?’ Alex asked, still feeling a bit shy about what had just happened.
‘I’m writing you a song.’
‘Are you?’
Stan turned around and smiled shyly. ‘I guess that convinced me.’
Alex blushed. But in fact, his face had been red all along.

Mmm... First kisses are my favourite things to write, in any fanfic I have ever written.
