interlude:the mages district
Ragin xergoffness head of the mages district governing body of inhumans across the globe sat in a dim room cloak up hiding all but his eyes in shadow
for the first time in almost 100 years a problem which he could not fathom had presented its self all seven of the most elite group of mages dead the leader invoked the mages last resort and the special gifts they possesed passed on to unknown successors
the elite seven all of them second only in power to himself were needed more than any one aside from him knew they enbodied two gift that were nessary if the war
that was on the horision was to come to pass only they could wield the legandary weapons of there element and only they could truly emmerse them selves totally in the
power that is the basic govering forces of the universe
while every mage could use the power they can not be the power every mages is born with magic a basic affinity for one or more of the elements and could use
and wield these to there will it came in varying degrees
all of these things ran through his mind as he sat contemplating. finally he reached a dicision he reached over and layed his hand across a crystal bell silver light flared then faded moments later fourteen portals opened up as the seekers stepped through and bowed "how may we help sir" . ragin stood and strode across the room and layed his hand on a blank wall once again silver power flared and what appered to be a solid wall faded in to nothing sitting inside the room was a chest surrounded by a multi hughed light he beconed to the seekers "come forward" when they had followed him into the room he pulled a pendant from around his kneck. a seven pointed star with a precious gem set at each point he then inserted the pendant into a depression in the top of the chest seven woefull chimes sounded and the chest opened.
inside were fourteen almulets simular to the one ragin had sat in the opening with two key differences the gems sat in each point was clear and in the center was a multi colored orb he then turned to the seekers "for as long as i can remember there have always been seven elite and fourteen seekers you are all the best at what you do
now i must charge you with what could be the most important task of your lives" at this point he looked down took a deep breath looked back up and said "the seven are dead there powers have been passed on" the look of shock on the face of the seekers was undescribable "i task you to finding there successors i must stress the urgancy of this task who ever killed the seven will be hunting for there gifts you must find them and find them fast these amulets shall lead you to them step forward if you accept your duty"
as on all fourteen seekers stepped forward. one by one ragins handed them a amulet when all had one he turned to them and in a grave voice said "be swift be sure and be safe gods guide you" they bowed a portal opened beneath there feet and they were gone.
slowly ragin sealed the hidden room again and sat before the fire to wait and hope they were fast enough some days being a leader just wasnt all it was cracked up to be .
