The Kludde

Sorry for the wait. I won't try to explain why I fail at life. D:

Just enjoy the smut and don't look into my motives....it'll drive you insane like it's doing to me. God, I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. Hahaha......I need sleep. O.o

Kouri glared at the mechanic strapped to her bed. The woman was staring up at the ceiling, a bored look on her face. Like she hadn't just been brought to her seventh orgasm of the evening. The woman was panting heavily, her skin dewed with sweat, curls of fire sticking to her skin. She made a ravishing picture, one that made Kouri want to pounce all over again.

The Doctor dragged a hand up the Mechanics torso, enjoying the slight shiver when she slid her palm roughly across a small breast.

“What's running through that sexy head of yours, darling?”

“Reviewing the list of parts that are being delivered later.” Mikki answered, trying to keep her body from twitching. Her nerve endings were particular sensitive, especially with the aphrodisiac that Kouri had injected her with. The one she'd picked up at the Metrafice Market, the one that was illegal, even in the Sidhe world.

“Your machines are more important to you then this?” Kouri cocked her head to the side, nimble fingers toying with sensitive flesh.

“This? This is hormones and electrical signals.” Mikki couldn't stop herself from arching, nor could she keep the shudder from racking her body. “It's not hard to recreate.” Kouri let out a dark chuckle, her hand sliding down between Mikki's legs, the younger girl shuddering, eyes snapping shut even as her mouth slid into a silent scream.

“Knowledge of the human body is far more important then knowing where all those signals go, darling.”

Kaylin Ginmo glared at his Ipod. It was the fifth time that week. that the damn thing had crapped out on him. He whacked it against his palm a couple of times before sighing and pulling out the ear buds. The warranty still wasn't up on it, so he could send it in for a replacement. The faint jingle of chains met his ears and he glanced around the path. There was only one other person out this early in the morning. Another jogger twenty feet in front of him.

Kaylin was about to catch up with the man and ask if they could run together. He'd heard of muggers hanging around central park early in the morning to catch who ever they could. Safety in numbers, right?

Kaylin had taken three steps when the jingle sounded again, louder this time. An enormous black animal that looked a little like a wolf leapt across the path, small leathery wings on his shoulders. Red met blue when the animal looked straight at him. It snagged the joggers neck between it's massive jaws. The man had time for a strangled yell, flailing his legs before the dog disappeared into the misty half forest.

Kaylin stood where he was, terrified that the animal was going to come back for him. Suddenly his fight or flight kicked in, adrenaline flushing through his veins. The boy turned and ran, skin prickling, half expecting to hear the jingle of chains or feel hot breath on his neck. As he ran, the faint sound of crunching followed him out of the park.

“Police have been systematically searching the park after an eye witness reported that a large, black dog-like animal darted across the east side trail early in in the morning and snatched 35 year old Michael Obirtsod. The witness was a fellow jogger by the name of Kaylin Ginmo, who was allegedly following behind Mr. Obirtsod ” The reporter kept on the subject for a few more minutes, giving out information before switching to another topic.

Jacob stared at the television, green eyes narrowing. That was the eighth jogger to have disappeared in three weeks, all around the same area of Central Park. He had no idea who or what was taking them, but with this new information he could now narrow down the search area.

Something large, that frequented the forest like areas of the park. only attacking at dusk or dawn, never people in large groups. That meant the creature was intelligent. Intelligence meant it was going to be that much harder to track.

The blonde man finished brushing out his hair, sweeping it all back over his shoulder and began to swiftly braid it. He shot a quick look around for Freya, somewhat relieved and confused that she hadn't been to bother him at all today. Sighing he shifted into Leopard form, needing his extra senses to locate his partner.

They had to talk to the man who had seen the creature, needed clues to narrow the search pattern down.

Kaylin peered through the crack in the door. The chain lock keeping the door shut just enough. The man was paranoid and Jacob would bet his left arm that someone from the tabloids had been around. They would take down all the info, then just as they were leaving they would make a remark about how no one ever believes the junk they read in the crank files. It was enough to make anyone nervous about talking to people , especially about strange things they'd seen.

“Mr. Ginmo? My name is Jacob and this is my colleague Freya. We'd like to ask you some questions about what you saw this morning.”

“I already talked to you people. Go away.” Blue eyes narrowed, then shifted. Kaylin began to ease the door shut.

“You can either talk to us here or we can take you in for questioning.” Freya spoke up behind Jacob, making the statement as threatening as possible.

“Are...are you guys FBI??” Kaylin sounded nervous. Freya snickered, ignoring the glare Jacob sent her.

“No Mr. Ginmo. We don't technically exist. It's out job to protect the public from things they'd rather not know about.”

“Like.” Kaylin paused. “Like what I saw this morning?”

“Exactly.” Jacob nodded to himself. The door closed firmly, the sliding of the chain lock rasped, then the door opened. The curly headed man motioning them inside his apartment.

“Just start from where ever seems relevant to you.” Freya twisted her hair up, pinning it in a twist as Jacob put a recording device on the table.

“My Ipod wasn't working again. I was thinking that I needed to call the company about the warranty. I took the buds out of my ears and heard a jingling.”

“Like keys?” Jacob asked.

“No....jingling more like....well like.....chains.” Kaylin finished weakly, knowing how it sounded. “I thought maybe it was a mugger, or some weird gang initiation thing. There was a guy.” Kaylin swallowed, starting to shiver. Freya rolled her eyes, recognizing shock. She grabbed an afghan off one of the chairs and threw it over the brunette's shoulders.

“The guy, he was about twenty feet in front of me. I was gonna run up and ask if we could jog together. I didn't want to get mugged or beaten up so some weird teen could join up with the bloods or whatever.” Another pause. “There was more jingling, louder and I remember thinking that maybe there were a few of them. Then this....this thing jumped out of the trees.”

“The trees?” Freya sounded a little disbelieving.

“I know how it sounds. But it jumped out of the trees, it hit the ground, jumped across the path. Grabbed the guys head in mid-air and just disappeared into the mist on the other side.” Kaylin swallowed again. “He screamed once. I couldn't even move. I feel so guilty for not even being able to save him.”

“What did it look like?” Freya asked, knowing Jacob would never get the important info, he was too polite for that.

“Like a dog. A big black dog.”

“How big? Great Dane, Lab, Great Pyrenees?”

“I...it was really quick. It was huge and it looked like a....I dunno. A wolf or something. But bigger then they get, like a black bear or something It had little wing things, and red eyes.”

“Is that everything?” Jacob asked quietly, cutting off Freya's statement that wolves didn't have wings.

“There.....there was this crunching sound when I was running out of the park.” Kaylin clenched his teeth. “I'll never forget the crunching.” He stood suddenly, darting into the bathroom. The sounds of retching started soon after.

“Hmmm.” Jacob turned off the recording. “Doesn't make sense to me. I'm not sure what this could have been.”

“The spaziod has a masters in Freakology doesn't she?” Freya asked, bored with the conversation already.

“I had forgotten that. I'll talk to Mikki. We should go.” Standing, the blonde stepped smoothly out of the way of Freya's groping fingers. He stumbled for a moment, regaining his balance and laying a card with his contact information on the table.

The mechanic stared at the recording device, it sent out a small hologram of Kaylin. Mikki was making notes, her shorthand illegible to those who didn't know what it meant. And this being the petite genius, no one could decipher her short hand.

“Chains, black dog, wings, red eyes, jumped out of the trees, taking joggers, eating it's prey.” Mikki mumbled, sketching out a large and terrifying creature on the opposite page. Jacob leaned over her shoulder watching her decipher Kaylin's description of the creature.

“Any idea's?”

“It sounds like a Kludde.”

“A what?” Freya walked into the room, chewing on some sort of meat. It looked like chicken if the leg she held in her hand had anything to do with it.

“Belgian folklore. They hide in the twilight of early dawn or late dusk. They share three forms, canine, feline and avian. All forms have red eyes, the canine form has a short tail and small leathery wings. Attacking innocent travelers, which translates to joggers in this case. Only sound that betrays an attack is the sound of chains. Nothing escapes a Kludde.” Mikki rubbed her temple, trying to dig up any more information on the creature.

“There's a Kludde here.” Polaryss spoke up, she was pushing a small cart loaded with plates. She handed one to Jacob who nodded his thanks. Then to Mikki, who looked at it, as if wondering what she was to do with it.

“Tahi told me you forget to eat sometimes.” The elf smiled, patting the mechanic on the head and taking a step back. “You're already so skinny, if you lose anymore weight it will be unhealthy.”

“I second that.” Kouri spoke, taking a plate and sitting at the table across from the mechanic who began to shovel food into her mouth. Ignoring the violet eyes that began to roam across her face, Mikki was getting tired of this just being a one way relationship. She'd had that with her ex. Just a convenient body to snuggle up to, a convenient partner. “I just about need someone to babysit you.”

“I'm perfectly capably of taking care of myself. If you'll excuse me I have some people to call for information on exterminating Eastern European creatures.” Mikki handed the now empty plate to Polaryss and stood, her 'boss' expression on. This wasn't the cute little nerd with a photographic memory, this was the woman who had founded the organization. The one who had contacted and convinced all of them to join.

“I'll be in my office. I'm only to be disturbed if there's an emergency. This does not mean creating a fake medical emergency.” Green eyes narrowed at the redheaded Doctor who had the decency to look a little chastised.

“I only did that once.”

“I want it to stay the only time.” Turning Mikki left the common room.

“She's acting a little different.” Freya commented, interested in the sudden attitude change.

“She behaved like this when her relationship with Alice ended.” Tahi spoke, entering the common room and nodding a greeting to her colleagues.

“Why did it end?” Freya needed to know who, and what could possibly make molestable little Mikki turn into the Ice Bitch.

“That is not for me to tell.” Tahi spoke, one silver eye resting on Freya in the way that always creeped the mercenary out.

“Jacob knows, don't you kitty cat?” Freya purred, leaning towards the blonde, Tahi and Jacob had been the first to join the organization. Next had been Freya, a year after. The doctor had been the last added to the list, three years of begging, threatening, and cajoling before she had finally given in.

“As Tahi said, it is not our story to tell.” Freya glared, turning her attention to Kouri who was frowning at her plate, pushing her vegetables around the plate.

“What about you Doc, what do you know about Alice?”

“Hmm?” Kouri looked up at being addressed. “Alice doesn't consider their relationship to be over. She also owns the company that this place uses as a cover.”

“How do you know so much?” Mikki was such a private person.

“I kinda gave her some Thiopental a while ago.”

“What?” Freya raised an eyebrow. “Pretend I have no idea what you just said Doc.”

“Truth Serum. It lowers the higher cortical brain functions. It's nearly impossible to lie, especially when you don't know you've been injected with it.”

“How'd you manage that?” Now Freya was interested. She knew the Doctor was devious, but this was impressive, she was gonna have to get the Doc alone so they could trade methods of interrogation.

“I got her drunk.”

“You imbibed the woman who runs this entire organization, and injected her with barbiturates?” Tahi's silver eye narrowed, her normally emotionless voice was ripe with anger. That wasn't good. Kouri shifted her eyes to the door, she counted to three and made a dash for the door. Tahi's hand around her throat prevented her from escaping.

“You will tell me what she told you. There are things she knows that must never be spoken aloud.”

:Takes a deep breath:

Sorry for the wait. Life's been kicking my butt.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the smut in the beginning. It was pretty hot. Freya....don't worry, you'll be getting something soonish. Maybe in a few chapters or so. :p

Also....I have no idea what sort of things Mikki knows. I'm thinking weird stuff, like the names of Demons. Considering she's got a Masters Degree in Crypto-zoology.
