Part Three

“Someone was looking for you.”

“Of course he was. I am the epitome of evil to him.” Rain giggled as she sipped her rum and coke. “What did you tell him?”

“To stay away.”

“Aw, that’s no fun.” She mock pouted at William.

“He’s young, he has a life...” The man sighed. “...why do I bother? Look who I’m talking to.” She smiled sweetly in response to the words.

‘The only innocent part of her is her smile.’ Green running shoes, black dress pants with a pink flower stitched into the bottom right leg, white dress shirt, black vest, dark blue rectangle-shaped sunglasses, a hat that looks like a top hat except the crown is shorter, pitch black left eye, white-blind right eye, dark brown hair tied into a low ponytail that curled slightly, two dark blue bangs that framed the sides of her face...the appearance of a psychotic killer.

“I think I shall take my leave for the night. Try and get some sleep, Kitty-Cat. Just working and fucking is no life, really.” She stood and reached across the bar to tangle her fingers in perfectly slicked back chestnut hair before leaving with a giggle.

“No...it isn’t, is it.” William sighed and fixed his now messed up hair.

No one knew his real name. Everyone just called him Big Kitty. The only two people who knew it were gone. One dead, his wife, the other in an orphanage or with some sort of family...his daughter. He thought of her constantly. He didn’t want to give her up but he had to. He was a Yakuza and wanted to keep her safe. It was the best option, to abandon her. He often wondered if she remembered him. What did she think of him? Was she happy? He had to believe that he had made the right decision.

“Earth to boss-man!” Snapping from his thoughts, he focussed on the overly cheerful voice.

“I thought I told you not to come back in here.”

“Aw! But I’m not causing any trouble!” The blond looked up at him with slightly watery eyes.

“You better not. What are you doing here anyways?”

“I’m waiting for CrimsonMoon!”

“Right.” He sighed and messaged his temples.

‘Dealing with her is going to get me killed. But I can’t just turn her away. She’s too naive. I’m sure my daughter is the same.’ Another sigh.

The lock slid open easily as William let himself into his apartment above The Litter Box. His dark grey eyes scanned the lavishly furnished and decorated place. Through the darkness, something moved.

“Who’s there?” He flicked the light switch and saw an oriental girl sitting on the floor.

Her hair was long and straight. Her eyes were black like her hair and were framed my pink glasses. She wore a green cargo jacket over top a black t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a thin rainbow scarf around neck. She turned to look at him with curious eyes before fading slowly away.

“Great, now I’m seeing things.”

“Mew!” He bent down to pick up his only friend, Little Kitty.

She was a white, domestic shorthair cat. Her eyes were green and blue. She purred and settled into his embrace as he made his way to his black and white kitchen. Those two shades were the theme to his home.

It wasn’t long before his cell phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hello to you, Big Kitty.” The female voice purred. “Are you looking for some company tonight?”

“Of course.” His voice was smooth.

It was the only way to fill the void that ate him alive.

***

The sun glared through the windows to The Litter Box. Another day was just starting...and already there was trouble.

“Why do you even bother?” William rolled his eyes as he gripped the hilt of his katana.

The sheath, guard, and hilt were completely white. The only colour was a single gold sabre tooth-looking attachment that rested on the bladed side of his katana. The sheath had one as well and when the katana was resting in it, the tooth appeared larger. The pure white weapon rested on his belt on his back, blade facing upwards.

He unsheathed the blade as he charged past the two intruders to the back alley. He didn’t want to make a mess of his pub. He turned when he heard the door closed. He cut their hands from their bodies so that the guns they held fell useless to the floor. They screamed in pain and horror. William looked down at them in disgust.

“Is this the best they can do? I would prefer them to send Rain. At least she wouldn’t be this pathetic.” He sliced their throats.

They gurgled before all sounds died.

“It would be fun to cross blades with someone who actually knows how to fight. But you’re not any fun.” Rain skipped to his side.

“Why am I no fun?”

“’Cause you’re evil like me. So you can’t be my rival. My rival has to be good, like Stevie-kins.”

“You only say he’s your rival because you like to tease him.”

“Exactly what I said. He’s more fun.”

“You’re still young. You will find the perfect rival one day.”

“Perhaps. But the ninja-boy will do for now.”

I've been thinking recently. I'm gonna go back to my roots for Book Two and be random while still sticking with the plot. XD You'll see what I mean. >:D Don't worry, this is good news. It means more chapters!
