English Kashu
Chapter 4
Turbulent Dreams, that is what they decided one night to call themselves. The name held a deeper meaning to each one of them. For Sora, it was about all the dreams she had to give up when she was child just to take care of her sick mother. For Yuji, it was about the past few years he tried to make it on his own. For Ryuu, it was about the hope in his marriage that was finally over and done with. And for Kimberly, well it was exactly as it sounding; it was about her unresting dreams.
The next several weeks were hectic for all four members of the band. Long hours were filed away in the recording studio for their debuting CD and the only thing they had time for now to eat, sleep and shower. They all knew it was worth it though. Yuji had promised Sora that they would go on their first date after they finished with the CD and she happily accepted. Most days Kimberly was stuck in the studio by herself recording after the vocals after the band had already recorded the song perfectly.
By the end of six weeks of nonstop recording, the CD was finally finished. Their new manager told them that it was going to be debut in two months and that there were a lot of things that they needed to do in order to promote it. They were going to be performing on a few TV shows to put their name out and one large public live. There had already been a few mentions of Turbulent Dreams in papers and on the radio from the small gigs that they used to do at clubs.

Kimberly sighed as she stared out of their kitchen window. In two months, it would be January. Her birthday was in January. That was how long she had been in Japan. That was how long it had been living their dreams. Yuji and Sora were on yet another date and Ryuu was sitting at the table drinking a cup of coffee. Her brown eyes wandered over to him and watched him for a few minutes.
It was a normal sight to see Ryuu and Kimberly together all the time now. They would pick with each other when others were around but when they were alone, they would just sit with each other in silence. It was never uncomfortable for either of them. A small smile appeared on her lips as she turned her face away and looked out the window once again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
He could feel her eyes on him and he couldn’t help but smile. He didn’t know how many days they would just sit like this but he knew it was more than just occasionally. He was sipping on his coffee and was trying to read the newspaper in front him but occasionally stole a glance at her out of the corner of his eyes. He couldn’t tell what was going through her mind, nobody could really ever tell; but whatever it is, was making her smile.
Somewhere deep inside of him, he wished that he could make her smile like that. He sighed silently to himself. A few months ago his divorce was final and he became a free man again. He could remember the nights that they would talk just the two of them about it. He would sit on Kimberly’s bed while she typed away on her computer and they would just talk about everything. Somehow she always knew how he was feeling or could put herself in his position. She would talk about her life growing up and about her family but he felt like she was hiding something else from him; but he couldn’t figure out what.
From what she had told him about her life growing up in America, it was a normal life. She had her first love and her first heart break. Her family was wealthy but didn’t want anything to do with her since she moved to Japan to pursue her music career. She only had one or two boyfriends while growing up but never went on a date until she was almost 18 years old. She didn’t really have any bad habits except for biting her nails and lip. The only thing that bothered him was that when they all first started living together, she was always talking to someone online, from England if he remembered right. She had told him that it was just an old friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over the past several months, her talking to Mr. England had become less and less. They used to talk at least once a day and now, she hadn’t even heard from him in about 3 weeks. That really wasn’t the thing that had her stumped though. The thing that had been on her mind was that she didn’t feel like she missed him anymore. She figured it was probably just because of how busy the band had been with the new CD coming out soon.
She cast a glance over at Ryuu and noticed him looking at her. A faint blush spread across the bridge of her nose as she quickly looked away. Maybe she didn’t miss him anymore because she was never alone long enough to miss him. Ryuu always stayed by her side and her by his. He had quickly become her best friend after he joined the band. He helped her write some of the music and together they made some of their best songs. She felt safe around him and had fun even when they sat in silence. She didn’t understand it but then again she didn’t need to. They were friends so why did she start caring so much about how she looked when he was around?

A/N for this chapter: I was originally just going to end this chapter out of Ryuu's POV to leave a little cliff hanger but I thought wth, why not just continue.
A/N for story in general: Sorry about doing this. I meant to edit go through Chapter 3 and just make small edits where needed the other day but forgot about it. I started up a new job on Monday and ended up working two shifts that day so by the time I got home, I was tired.
Kanji is the Japanese characters. Romaji are the letters that spell the word out like Arigato.
Anyways moving on. I can't remember if I ever said what nationality Kimberly was. I don't think I did, I know I said her skin color but anyways. When I say that she is "American" what I mean is Caucasian. I know I should probably put it a better way in the story than just to say American because there are alot of really really famous Japanese singers that were born in America (but they are usually half Japanese).
