More Than Anything

A/N: So… I really love this chapter. Its short, yeah, but I love it.

More Than Anything.

Morning light was spilling through the window, waking up pale blue eyes slowly. Lindsey blinked a few times to adjust her sight, to find her boyfriend, Paul, propped up on his elbow and softly grinning down at her, his hand still placed gently on her hip. Lindsey sighed heavily, snuggling back into the comforters and groaned, wrapping her arm around his middle.

It had been a month since Lindsey came back to Paul, after he begged and pleaded with her.

“Morning.” Paul whispered, cupping her face gently with one hand and kissed her forehead softly. His dark eyes stared down at her lovingly as he pulled her against him tightly.

Lindsey groaned, drawing her brows together. She was never much of a morning person. “Morning.” she mumbled back.

Paul wrapped his arms around Lindsey tightly, surrounding her with his warmth -she grinned softly, smelling his unique sent of soap and something entirely Paul that couldn’t be described, but it made her feel warm and safe. She loved these kinds of mornings when he was like this; when he let down those walls and made himself out to be kind of a mush.

Lindsey reached between them and gently touched his lips with the tips of her fingers, remembering the first time he kissed her. It had been about six week after he confessed that he never kissed a girl on the lips. There was something so special to him about kissing someone on the mouth, he didn’t want to just give it away to anyone.

“What are you thinking about?” Paul asked quietly, shifting them so she was laying on top of him.

Lindsey grinned, trailing her fingers lightly down his toned arms and chest, “The first time you kissed me.” she confessed.

Paul rolled his eyes, but grinned nonetheless, running his hands softly over her curves, “And I was damned form that day on.” he joked.

“Oh, shut up.” Lindsey chuckled, “Tell me the story.”

“Linds, you were there. You know what happened.” Paul smiled, managing to sit up and lean against the headboard.

Lindsey sighed softly and leaned into Paul’s chest, wrapping her arms around him. His skin against her skin was probably her favorite feeling. “I know, but I love when you tell it. You know I do.”

Paul nodded, wrapping his arms around Lindsey’s frame and groaned softly, “Alright.” he gave in, “We were at Wal-Mart…stop laughing, Lindsey…anyways, we were at Wal-Mart and the guy at the register was obviously flirting with you and winked at you, which was completely unnecessary and really disrespectful, since obviously you were with me-”

“Paul.” Lindsey whined playfully, “Come on…”

“Fine.” Paul grunted, “Anyways, I said something to him and I guess you got really embarrassed and pissed at me, and I kind of made a scene in the middle of the parking lot, and all you wanted to do was go home. But I wanted to finish the conversation, and you were making me so mad because you didn’t understand and I was making you mad because I was kind of being an ass about it all.

“Then you started yelling at me and I couldn’t get a word in, so I pushed you against my car.” Paul sighed heavily, shaking his head, “Then you looked up at me with your damn blue eyes, so fucking scared, because you thought I was actually going to hurt you. And I held your face and you winced when I touched you and it tore me up, because I was trying to show you -I was trying to make you understand…

“Then I kissed you.”

Lindsey bit her lip and nodded, “And then I understood.” she whispered.
