Chapter 4

Rain ran quickly over to where Nate couched down holding his neck. “Nate! Nathan! Are you okay?” Rain’s voice was frantic a filled with concern. At this time, Leo had arrived at the scene.

“Nathan!” he called out worriedly. “Nathan you’d better be fine” he paused watching him hold his neck.

Nate’s eyes were wide. He seemed to be looking though his to friends instead of at them. What did that bastard do to me? He thought back to what the leech had said to him.

~ You belong to me now love, I’ll be able to find you where ever you go. ~

Nate stiffened at the memory. He could practically hear the smooth melodic voice of the vampire in his mind. Quickly he shook his head and stood up “I have to get out of here, now. I’m putting you to in danger.”

Rain moved quickly grabbing his friends arm gently. “We have to take you back to the village to find out what he did to you.” He looked at the small marks on Nate’s neck. “Those almost look like what slave marks are suppose to look like, but I could be wrong.”

Nate shook his head quickly, jerking his arm out of Rain’s grip. “No, he said he could find me wherever I went, I’ll endanger the village if I go back. I can’t do that.” He understood that Rain was worried, but he couldn’t risk the village being found.

Leo chose now to speak up again. ‘’ Then we’re coming with you.” His voice held a finality to it that came with being the leader of the group. He was in no way going to let Nate run off by himself and get killed, or worse turned.

Nate sighed. “Leo…” he paused “I can’t ask that of you” He didn’t want to endanger his friends.

Leo smirked playfully. “Do you think I’d let you run around by yourself? You’d try and sleep with the wrong person and get yourself a STD or something.” His voice held a teasing note to it, in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Rain grinned mischievously “I agree with our fearless leader here. You’d defiantly get a disease without us screening your partners.”

“See Rain’s even siding with me, that has to mean something. He never takes sides.” Leo smiled at Nate waiting for a response.

Nate paused looked back and forth between his to friends. He sighed. “Fine, but we really need to get out of here. We can’t wait around for him to heal then come back.” He started walking swiftly down the street, in the direction of which he came.

Leo’s face became solemn as he followed quickly coming up to walk next to him. “We’ll have to keep moving if he can really track you. We have enough money to last us a week, and that’s if we stretch it. We’ll have to find another way to make money.”

Rain followed closely behind his to friends. “The world is a disaster I’m sure there are people in every town that could use a hired hand.”

Leo sighed softly. “Be that as it may Rain, most people are too scared to hire anyone to do anything. Why do you think all of our work is anonymous?”

Rain let out a quick breath. “Point taken.” He began to try and think of other things that they could do for money.

Suddenly Nate grinned “I know what we can do.” He held a smug look on his face as he looked back at Rain.

Rain’s eyes widened. “Oh no, I’m not doing that!”

Leo smiled softly “Come on Rain, you’re the only one that can”

Rain shook his head furiously “No! I’m not doing it! You can’t make me!”

Nate put a fake pout on his face replying “But you’re really good!?

“You’re the best in the village” Leo added.

“I’m not doing it and that’s final!” Rain insisted.

Leo sighed “Fine, I guess we can make you”

“That’s right you can’t” Rain replied

Nate sighed as well “We’ll just have to find another way.”

Rain said promptly. “Yes we will.”

Nate and Leo fell silent, looking forward as they walked. Rain, the silence leaving him time to think, was uncomfortable. He knew they were right. It was the easiest way to make money quickly. Those kinds of places were always looking for new faces to grace their business, and they paid well. It was also something he could do for one night then move on. He sighed heavily before speaking.

“I’ll do it.” His voice barely even a whisper.

Leo and Nate both wore triumphant grins on their faces as they continued to look forward. They had to keep moving if they were going to reach the next town by tomorrow.

Deo moved forward grabbing Taran and leaning him across his arm. Quickly he shoved the arrow all the way through the young vampire’s shoulder.

“Ahh! Fuck! That hurt!” Taran growled out in pain.

“Well then, you’ll be more careful next time won’t you?” Deo said softly as he broke off the tip of the arrow, and proceeded to pull it back out from the feathered side.

“Shit that hurts! Yes I’ll be careful next time I swear.”

The three of them waited patiently waiting for signs that the wound had begun to heal itself. Five minutes later, it still looked the same. They couldn’t understand why it wasn’t healing.

“Let me see that arrow, will you Deo?” Fathi said softly.

Deo handed the arrow over to his childer with a nod. Fathi proceeded to examine the arrow carefully. After about a minute, his eyes widened looking at the arrow then to Deo and Taran.

“It’s magic.” He said firmly “There’s a ruin here” he pointed to a small ruin at the base of the arrow. “It must be what is causing the wound not to heal normally.”

Deo sighed, summoning some bandages. Those hunters think of everything don’t they? He thought to himself. He gently began to tightly wrap Taran’s shoulder “We’ll have to wait for a few day’s for it to heal then.”

Taran growled angrily “I don’t want to wait damn it!” He wanted his little hunter as soon as possible; he had plans for the little deviant.

“Well you’re just going to have to wait. It’s your carelessness that caused the situation” Fathi replied hastily.

“I know” Taran mumbled quietly. He knew that it was his fault, that didn’t mean he wanted the hunter any less.

Deo stood up quickly “We’ll leave in four days. Be ready.” He walked away heading towards his room and closing the door.

Fathi watched Deo walk away. Once the eldest vampire was out of sight, he turned to Taran. “Well let’s get you to your room, you’ll heal faster with rest. I’ll bring you something to eat later.”

Taran nodded slowly, letting Fathi help him up and to his room.

Rain begrudgingly followed being Nate, as they moved through the clothing store. Leo was keep watch out side, just in case company came. They had got to this town about seven this morning. Once they’d gotten a hotel room and some sleep; Nate had decided that Rain needed something to make the horny masses drool.

“Oh my god! These!” Nate practically squealed pulling an article of clothing off one of the racks. He held it out excitedly toward Rain.

Rain looked wide eyed at the object in his friend’s hand. “Nate, that won’t fit me…”

“Sure it will! It’s your size, I checked.”

“Nate… I won’t fit in those I’m telling you…”

“And I’m telling you that you will, now take them” Nate said tossing the piece of clothing at Rain.

Rain caught it with ease, looking at it worriedly. “If you say so, you know more about these things then me.”

“That’s right I do” Nate grinned. “So that means I pick it out, and you wear it.”
Rain sighed. “Alright.” He had given in, knowing he’d probably regret it.

Rain walked into the building slowing; he took of his cloak and handed to the door man, revealing his new outfit. Nate had surely out done himself this time. Rain wore shiny tight leather pants, that looked like he was poured into them. Adorning his torso was a snug fishnet shirt. It was long sleeved with a long rip that went diagonally across his chest. He wore a black dog collar around his neck; connected to which, was a long black leash. His long white blonde hair was down, one side combed down, covering one of his icy eyes. He was defiantly a sight to behold.

“You ready for this?” Nate asked softly. Leo and him followed closing behind Rain, in their normal attire.

Rain took in a deep breath, composing himself. “As I’ll ever be.” With that they proceeded into the crowd.

Well there you all go! Hope you enjoy!
