Stalker
Wow, for once I'm in a good mood. I don't have much homework aside from my Senior Transitions which has to be the most pointless and stressful class i've taken since Physics....yup!
I promised a update by saturday and It's here early! Friday night, i'm proud of myself.
As usual my only thanks goes to Saminada as my SOLE reviewer. Take example people!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this new installment of "Scarlet tears and a broken past."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m going to kill him!” Ai yelled, running a her hands through her spiked pixie locks, pacing back and forth like a caged animal in front of Yasu. “Going to throw him off a damn balcony…murder him. Dead and buried, murder!”
Her small frame shook with rage, her eyes dark and snapping green flames of hate. She let out an irritated shriek, her pacing picking up speed as Yasu watch with faint amusement.
“Ai, he was at my place last night and didn’t have his cell phone,” he exclaimed calmly. “As for him not being in school today, he’s probably skipping because we didn’t get any work on his science project done. But if your worried we can…”
Yasu paused as a group of girls walked past, each giggling and waving as one broke off from the group. Yasu waved before turning to look at the girl walking up to stand bravely between him and the animalistic Ai.
“Yasu-kun,” the girl asked smiling slightly. “I’d like you to come to the theme park with me tonight. Please?”
The girl wasn’t as petite as Ai but she had a nice shapely form, her silver blonde hair dyed with streaks of pink and purple which slightly clashed with her porcelain skin and rose colored cheeks. Her azure blue eyes battered slightly as she twisted her torso from side to side, her hand behind her back in a completely innocent but nervous posture.
Yasu blinked slightly, scratching his cheek absently.
“Hi…uh…Karin!” he stammered, blanking on the girls name for a moment. He glanced at Ai who was still pacing and turned with a smile to the girl. “I guess that’d be alright. I just have to take Ai to Kisame’s house first.”
“Great!” Karin exclaimed, smiling broadly flashing pearl white teeth. “Can you be there at six? And try not to be late, okay? My parents are looking forward to seeing you again before they leave.”
Yasu nodded slowly, holding back a sigh of annoyance. “Yeah….I’ll see you later, okay? Ai’s having an episode.”
Karin nodded slowly, glancing at Ai with a faintly disappointed look. She leaned forward, kissing Yasu on the cheek before turning and running over to the group of giggling girls waiting nearby. Yasu let his sigh out before turning to Ai once again as she started another rant. She looked ready to punch the next thing that moved.
“But why didn’t he call me after he went home?” she exclaimed with a deep scowl. “I want to know what was going through that hollow head of him! Then I’m going to lop it off!”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The last bell sang through the hallways with it’s screeching wail, the sound of footsteps echoing dully under the sound. Yasu leaned against Ai’s locker, staring at the white rose he held in his hand. It had been taped to the door of his own locker along with a folded white note.
“Guess Karin’s making the first move,” he muttered, slightly vexed at the idea. He glanced up as Ai walked up to her locker, pushing him out of the way slightly as she opened it and stuffed her books haphazardly inside. She grabbed her bag and swung it over her shoulder, turning with clear impatience.
“ready?” she asked, sounding slightly eager. She paused, glancing at the rose curiously. “what’s that?”
“I think Karin taped it to my locker,” Yasu muttered and lifted the card. “This was attached to it. I haven’t read it yet…I know how Karin writes. It’s not pretty. It’s barely even legible.”
Ai snatched the letter without blinking and ripped the seal using her pinkie nail and pulled out the small white piece of paper inside. She frowned, staring at the delicate graceful scrawl on the paper.
“This isn’t Karin’s hand writing, I can actually read it,” Ai said with a smirk. “I think it’s a poem….”
Yasu scowled, slightly confused. If it wasn’t Karin, it was most likely another girl. Exactly what he didn’t need. Sometimes being popular had extremely horrid value points.
“what’s it say?” he asked tentivly, not sure if he wished to know.
Ai smiled faintly. “Wow, this is sort of romantic, Yasu. Here listen.”
She took a small breath and started reading from the paper.
“Lost time and lost memories make up our broken past. I pray thee that we share what we lost and share what we will soon find. I held you once before, so briefly, and I find myself wishing to hold you once more. Find me, love, in your lost and frozen memories. Remember my name and the love of which you never knew.”
Yasu blinked. The words were flowing and fairly old fashion but beautiful and indeed, as Ai said, romantic. But what did it mean? He took the note, staring at the writing, as Ai handed it back.
“I held you once before?” he asked softly, curiosity peaking.
“Could be a girl you dated before,” Ai suggested as she turned and started walking, once more in a hurry to get to their destination.
“No…the words are phrased wrong. This is a bit creepy,” he muttered. “It’s apparently someone who’s close to me. But…no girls been that close to me before.”
He shook his head as he pocketed the note. “It’s eerie…maybe it’s a mistake.”
“Maybe,” Ai agreed absently, kicking up her heels as they walked the short distance from the school to Kisame’s home. “Let’s go kick some player ass.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yasu approached the door, keeping Ai behind him so she wouldn’t rush whoever opened it. The poor unsuspecting soul, poor dead soul if it was Kisame opening the door. He rang the doorbell, tapping his foot for a moment before Kisame’s mother answered the door.
A small gasp escaped her lips when she caught sight of the two. Her face was tear stained and her eyes were red. “Ai-chan…Yasu, what are you doing here?”
Her voice was cracked and laden with worry. Yasu felt a strange sense of deja vu creep into his mind but he shook it away. “Good to see you again, ma’am,” he said softly. “We came to see Kisame….we wanted to know why he wasn’t in school today.”
Kisames mother sniffled slightly, looking more distraught but she moved aside to let them in. She led them to and up the stairs to Kisames bedroom. She knocked slightly. “Kisame….you have company.”
Yasu watched as the woman stepped back. She was clearly upset and he had a bad feeling it had to do with Kisame. Ai clearly didn’t seem to get that message as she barged into the room.
“Kisame! I’m going to ring you….!”
Ai stopped halfway through her words, a horrified gasp escaping her lips, her hand flying to her open mouth. Her green eyes were impossibly wide in her impish face. Kisame looked up from his position on his bed at his girlfriend.
Bruises, dark black and purple, were painted gruesomely on the blonds neck and face. Fainter bruises of sickly yellows and gray greens splattered his face and shoulders, chest and arms. His right wrist was fairly swollen and there were bandages on the side of his face and other areas. Yasu felt his stomach turn at the sight.
“Kisame!” Ai cried, rushing to the bedside, her anger forgotten completely. “Oh, goodness gracious! What happened! Who did this?”
Kisame looked to the door, his eyes wary but calmed a fraction seeing his mother was no longer outside it. He shook his head, wincing with a sharp hiss.
“I don’t know,” he said dryly, his voice sounding like broken leaves. “I was almost home last night when this guy…no this…this creature just came out of no where and starts questioning me about Yasu.”
Yasu frowned slightly. Creature? Questions about him?
Kisame took a small breath as he continued.
“I don’t remember all that much…I couldn’t think past the pain after he bit me. But he’s not human…and he tried to kill me. If a group of third years hadn’t come by…I’m sure I’d be dead right now.”
Yasu stared at Kisame, his mouth slightly ajar. Ai frowned delicately.
“Kisame…what do you mean by creature?” she asked softly in a soothing voice. “Do you have a concussion? I want to know who did this to you? This wasn’t done by just one person…did you know them? Do you remember what they look like?”
“He bit you?” Yasu asked in slight shock.
“It was one guy,” he said sharply, rising slightly from the bed with a visible wince. “I don’t know who he was. All I can clearly remember is him threatening my life and I know he wasn’t human. No one can move that fucking fast and yes, Yasu. He bit me!”
He smirked dryly. “Had one hell of a bite too.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Yasu cried in annoyance. “who did this Kisame? You shouldn’t lie to us. Did you get in trouble with someone?”
Ai looked over her shoulder at yasu and then turned back to Kisame, pushing him gently back on the bed as the blond glared at the other teen angrily.
“I’m not lying asshole!” he yelled back, ignoring Ai and sitting up completely in his bed, his anger seeming to block the pain. “I don’t know what YOU did, but he was asking about you!”
Yasu flinched slightly, staring at his battered friend silently. Kisames angry face softened a fraction as he looked away.
“Well, he mentioned that you did nothing,” he muttered. “But I don’t know why he went after ME about YOU! I think you got a stalker on your hands. A vicious one at that.”
Ai reached out, turning Kisames face slightly. The bruising on the one side of Kisames face seemed to form the shape of a hand. He eyes went to the darkest bruises which were on his neck and the joint of his shoulder, where the two meet.
“Turn your head,” she demanded softly, studying the bruises. “You said he bit you?”
Kisame muttered a sharp agreeance, scowling as Ai turned to look at Yasu worriedly. Yasu said what she was thinking.
“Could they be the same?” he murmured.
“The same person…your mystery note and Kisame’s attacker?” Ai whispered fearfully. Yasu pulled out the note again and nodded weakly before handing it to Kisame.
“I though it sounded a bit odd,” he said weakly. “I thought it was a misplaced not…but maybe…it wasn’t. But who the hell could it be? Who would stalk me?”
Kisame threw the note on the bed, growling slightly. “That sounds like him. Bastard.”
Yasu looked at the note, feeling a sharp desire to grab it back but restrained himself. He looked at Kisames neck. “He did that?”
“yeah! IT did that!” Kisame snapped bitterly, but frowned softly. “Just be careful….this freak is dangerous.”
Ai brushed a softly kiss on Kisames brow. “I’m sorry I was angry with you,” she murmured sweetly and then scowled. “If I catch this thing I’m going to maim it! NO one hurts MY Ki…sa…me…”
She stopped and blushed darkly. “I mean….never mind!”
Kisame chuckled and kissed Ai on the cheek, laying back on the bed once again with a small groan. “It’s alright, my little she-devil. Your one fiesty minion.”
Yasu smiled at the two but then frowned. “I guess I should cancel my date with Karin then,” he murmured to himself and glanced out the window. The sky was already turning a pale orange pink shade. “I’m going to go….take care of Kisame, Ai. Have his dad take you home.”
Yasu ran out the open door, uncertainty fluttering through his system, but he knew Kisame and the blond had looked far to serious to be joking. Even if it was a concussion talking.
He ran until he reached the Nasagi residence and knocked on the door politely to be greeted a moment later by Karin’s mother with a warm smile. “Yasu dear, we didn’t expect you this early. It’s not even 5:30 yet. Come in, please.”
Yasu shook his head slightly. “I’m sorry ma’am, but I came to cancel my date with your daughter. Something just happened to a close friend of mine. He was….mugged last night and I was cautioned not to stay out after dark. Can you tell Karin how sorry I am?”
“Sorry about what?”
Karin came up to the door, smiling as she bounded down the stairs, her hair pinned up in a delicate curl. She smiled brightly seeing Yasu.
“I can’t be out tonight,” he said softly. “I also don’t want to put you in any kind of danger. I promise I’ll spend the whole day with you tomorrow at school. Will that make up for tonight?”
Karin nodded weakly, unable to hide her disappointment. “Tomorrow, then.” She leaned forward and kissed Yasu on the cheek. “promise?”
Yasu laughed slightly and warmly smiled at the girl. “Promise.”
The light around the streets was fading as Yasu stood there, the sun fading into the hills causing shadows to dance over the streets and sidewalks, playing peek-a-boo with the remaining shafts of sunlight glinting through. A figure stood near off in the shade of a large tree across the street, watching the two, his ears picking up every word.
Haruka bared his fangs slightly, jealousy flaring in his body once again. His hair was no longer wild and untamed but now crudely chopped at rough angles to his shoulders, his face free of the silken curtain. He wore a simple pair of black slacks and a black shirt which formed tightly to his lean chest, the color a sharp contrast to his icy peach skin. His eyes flashed red as they locked onto Karin, his heart aching as he watched Yasu smile in such a way. The pain made him want to weep, but it was held at bay.
He’d learned to ignore the pain after a while, but it was still always there. He watched as Yasu waved to the blonde as he turned to leave.
“I’ll be careful, Karin. Don’t worry about me.”
Yasu started off down the sidewalk. Though he was no track star, he knew how to pace himself and conserve energy for if he needed to run. He glanced around warily, getting an itch in the middle of his back as if someone was watching him.
‘If someone….or something attacked Kisame asking about me…surely it’ll be looking for me soon,’ he thought nervously as he walked down the sidewalks, hugging his arms against the winds biting chill.
Haruka watched with sheer longing and moved after him shortly, keeping to the shadows. His eyes took in his old friends form. He’d grown even more beautiful than his memory had portrayed him.
He paused by a large tree, touching it’s cold bark with his even colder hand.
“Yasu,” he whispered. “You are what saved me.”
He closed his eyes, leaning against the tree as he watched him pensively. “Oh yasu….can I keep you?”
His voice seemed to play on the suddenly soft breeze, brushing against Yasu with an awkward warmth. Yasu jumped faintly, glancing around before he picked up speed. The sense of being watched was even stronger.
“I need to get home,” he reminded himself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kisame hissed as Ai spread a cool salve on his bruises, tending his gently. “Ai,” he said weakly.
“Hm?”
“I didn’t want to say this in front of Yasu,” he said wearily.
“Say what?” Ai asked quietly, sitting on the edge of Kisames bed.
“That thing,” he choked. “That thing said that it killed Yasu’s father. I don’t want Yasu to know that. He rarely sees his father so…its possible he won’t believe it. But…”
Ai’s eyes widened slightly, her words choked. “K…killed Yasu’s dad? Kisame! You need to call the police.”
She gulped thickly.
“If whoever….or whatever did this murdered a man…they need to know. Kisame…Yasu need to know.”
“what good would the police do?” Kisame snapped. “I know we need to tell Yasu…but I didn’t know how…..we need to get him somewhere safe.”
“somewhere that thing won’t get him,” Ai murmured and then gasped paling slightly. “Kisame…what if it’s waiting at his house?”
Kisame’s eyes widened. He clearly hadn’t thought of that. He pushed the covers back and stood from the bed, his knees shaking. “Go home Ai, my dad will take you. I’m going after Yasu.”
Ai place and arm around Kisames waist as the teen struggled to take baby steps to the door. “I’m coming too,” she said sternly. “Yasu is my friend too…and your in no condition to beat anything up.”
“Ah!” Kisame groaned, grinning slightly. “It’s just like you to be the macho chick.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yasu reached the foot of his doorsteps and rang the doorbell rapidly. The door was locked. He looked around. The sun was no longer visible at all and the skies were black as ebony, cloud hiding the slowly appearing stars.
“Damn you Yuri!” he cursed, wishing a pox on the butler. “Answer the door, damn it!”
Haruka watched him, a faint smile curling his lips. The butler, Yuri. He’d disposed of that horrid mad as well. He’d been a sweet and kind, though quiet appearing man who’d enjoyed watching the doctors experiments and torture in the beginning. The mans body was rotting along with the good doctors, dry as a corn husk. Yasu was safe from both of them forever.
“Shit!” Yasu growled and scanned the ground, picking up the rock that hid the spare key and unlocked the door slamming it behind him and relocking it. “Hello! Dad! Yuri! Where are you two?”
Yasu frowned as a deep sense of loneliness overcame him, his anger fading slightly. “Dad?”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ai walked slowly, holding up Kisame helping him walk. “Let’s hurry,” she said as they approached Yasu house. Her green eyes scanned the streets and stopped suddenly, locking onto a figure standing in front of Yasu‘s front door, only visible thanks to the small glow of moonlight lighting the street as the clouds passed over. “Who’s that?”
Kisame looked up, his face paling. “God, Ai! That’s him!”
Haruka had just lifted his hand to the cool wood of the house’s front door. He turned hearing two voices and twisted, his eyes now a deep midnight blue. He spotted the pixie girl and the teen from the other night rushing towards him and the house. He could smell their fear and it was amusing seeing how worse for wear he’d left the blond. It was better than being dead, though.
He scowled, his amusement vanishing as he turned and in a blink, vanished as if he’d never been there at all.
Ai stopped, nearly dropping her arm from Kisames waist. “Did you!” she stuttered.
“Now do you believe me!” Kisame snapped. “Move it!”
Ai glared at him but nodded, running up to the door, glancing around cautiously before she slammed on the wood with her fist.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the upstairs part of the large house, Yasu was unable to hear the banging on the from below. He’d checked his father’s room and Yuri’s quarters before going to his own oddly disappointed.
“Yuri doesn’t go anywhere for long,” he muttered to himself. “But…..dad’s usually home Thursday nights. Where could they be?”
He flopped back on his bed, curling up in the comfort of his sheets. He closed his eyes slightly, his breathing evening out quickly as he slipped to sleep on top of the sheets.
“Yasu…”
Haruka stood by the window, staring at the other with a lost smile. He moved, sitting on the edge of the smaller ones bed, reaching out and stroking Yasu’s cheek. His hand felt icy against the warm skin. He watched in slight amusement as Yasu flinched and flipped himself over, hugging his pillow as tightly as he could.
Haruka laid down on the bed, pressing his long body against Yasu’s back, wrapping a long graceful arm around the others waist.
“just dream,” he whispered in Yasu’s ear. He could hear the two knocking frantically and yelling. But neither of them was going to disturb his chance to speak with his old friend, even if they were only to speak in their minds for now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not much of Haruka sadly but I hope you enjoyed it.

“Dad?”
