Girl Talk

This chapter is a little thin and I apologize but I wanted to get something out to let you know I haven't forgotten it. The chapter is rated PG for adult situations.

Girl Talk

I was warm and safe. I didn’t want to open my eyes so I just listened; birds were singing somewhere nearby and there was the rhythmic thump of a heartbeat from under my head. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in a strange room. The wall opposite me was decorated with Indian artifacts, a leather shield and spear decorated with feathers. A howling coyote adorned the shield face.

I raised my head slowly to not disturb the sleeping figure beside me. Kit’s sleeping face was almost childlike and innocent. There were no coyote ears atop his head, after all that had only been a dream. But obviously a dream that had been connected to reality in part, it was obvious even without examining myself that my virginity was gone.

I tried to remember what had happened last night. I remembered Kit kissing me, the panic attack, and lashing out….the rock! Worried I looked Kit over but there was no sign of injury. Perhaps I didn’t hit him. I ran after that and there was the storm. I must have become delirious from the cold. Kit rescued me and brought me here, his cabin I guessed. Then there was the dream. Did he take advantage of me in my delirium or did I in my erotic dream seduce him? Somehow the answer to that should be important but I found I didn’t care.

I continued my examination of my first lover. The room was comfortably warm thanks to the glowing gas heater in the corner and we had kicked off most of the covers in the night. His body was just like my dream, lean and strong. My hand ran down his torso and hesitated where the covers lay just below his navel. My curiosity peaked, I had to know if the rest of him measured up to the dream and given the circumstances, I didn’t see him objecting. I glanced to make sure he was still asleep then gently pulled back the covers. My curiosity getting the better of me, I reached down to touch him. His manhood was soft and warm in my hand. As I felt it, it gave a little jerk and started to harden. I watched fascinated as it grew in my hand.

Then I felt his hand on my bare back. I looked up and into those strange gold flecked eyes.
“Good morning,” he said with a smile.
“Ah, good morning,” I said jerking my hand away.
We looked at each other for a moment.
“Did we…?” I started.
He nodded, smiling.
“Did I…?”
Nod.
“Was it…?”
Two nods.
“Did you use…?”
He shook his head.
I put my hand to my mouth. “Then I might…”
“No, I would know.” He said matter of factly.
He seemed so certain that I just accepted it. I absorbed it all and started crying.

He sat up gathering me in his arms.
“It’s ok,” he said soothingly. “You aren’t pregnant.”
“I know,” I sobbed. “It’s not that, its just it was my first time and all I can remember is stupid dream.”
He laughed and I hit him.
“It’s not funny.”
“No it isn’t,” he said pulling me close and kissing away my tears. The feel of his warm body against mine turned my tears into a quiet moan as he kissed my neck.
“Would you like me refresh your memory?” He whispered seductively in my ear.
My only answer was another moan as he leaned me back onto the bed.

I quietly left the cabin three hours later trying not to disturb the sleeping Kit. I made my way down a path trying to figure the way back to the lodge. I found the stone wall that marked the lodge perimeter and followed it till I came to the spot where Kit had kissed me the night before. Thanks to combination of the rock wall and the trees the spot had actually been sheltered against the storm.

I stopped in shock at what I found. At the base of the wall was the rock covered with blood and a bloody streak where he must have slid down the wall. I had hit him but where was the wound? No part of his body had escaped my attention this morning and his performance certainly belied any incapacity. I smiled at the memory. No, I couldn’t have hit him. There must be some other explanation for the blood, I was sure I would figure it out eventually. I started back toward the lodge.

As I walked into the lobby, I ran into Deana.
“Melody, I was starting to get a little worried. The staff said it looked like you hadn’t been back to your room since yesterday morning.”
“I was with Kit,” I answered without thinking.
“Kit?” She said. “All night? Wait did you two…?”
I didn’t answer but I could feel the blush rising.
“You did!”
She grabbed me and pulled me towards the dining room where the staff and guests were eating breakfast. She turned us aside towards the small soda fountain that opened off to one side. Erin, a tall red haired man who looked about 20 was polishing glasses behind the counter when we came in.

“Galen, two of your special banana splits with extra fudge and strawberry toppings.” She said as she pulled me over to a table.
“It’s 9 in the morning, lass.” He protested.
“So,” Deana shot back. “Fruits and dairy are always good for breakfast and the chocolate is just…because.”
She looked back at me.
“You can’t do decent girl talk over bacon and eggs. Besides, gossip this big is worth it.”
Galen brought the desserts and left.
Deana took a big scoop of hers with a satisfied ‘yumm’.

“So,” she said looking over dish. “Spill.”
“Deana,” I said hesitantly. “I’m not sure I should…”
“Listen, you can tell me. Kit won’t mind. If fact, I’ll just weedle it all out of him later anyway. Trust me.”

I smiled knowing she was right. I had no problem envisioning the strong girl pestering Kit until he surrendered all the details. So I began recounting the events of the day before. She was right, ice cream and chocolate was the only way to go for girl talk.

I told her everything except those strange details I didn’t understand. The sounds and voices I heard when I was delirious from the attack and the torn clothes in the van. I did mention the rock and the blood though. She provided the simple explanation I was looking for.
“You probably didn’t hit him as hard as you thought. Banged him on the nose and gave him a nose bleed, that’s all.”
When I told her about the dream, she looked a little distant as if she was thinking about something.

As I finished, she reached down into her dish and picked up the cherry by the stem. She put it in her mouth and pulled the stem out.
“So,” she said. “You and Kit. I guess you’ve overcome your fear of guys.”
“Yea,” I said suddenly realizing it. “I guess I have.”
“So what are you going to do now?”
“I don’t know, I don’t want to lead him on or anything.”
“I think it’s a little late to worry about that. Besides, I think don’t think you were the one doing the leading last night.”
“I suppose,” Melody said thoughtfully while taking another scoop of sundae. “But what would my parents think? Dad will freak, I mean he is an Indian and Mom…”
“Hey, what Mom doesn’t know won’t hurt her ok? You came here to heal and Kit needed healing too. As best I can tell you two are the best medicine for each other. I say enjoy it while you can.”
“But that wouldn’t be proper,” I protested

She sighed. “Melody, you will find folks here at Spirit Peak are a little different. No one here is going to find anything wrong with you and Kit finding needed comfort in each other or call you slut because you don’t get married.”
“But…I don’t know what to do.”
“Its alright I understand. Tell you what, hang out with me for awhile, I’m going shopping with my boyfriend Tommy in Colorado Springs today and then we were going to the movies tonight. We can bring Kit along and make it a double date. If you feel overwhelmed I’m there for you, we girls have to stick together you know.”
