Chapter 4:
I heard crying and sniffling. Then i heard my friend's voices.'Were am i?' i thought to myself. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in the hospital. My friends were all around my bed.
"Hey she's awake!" Said Amber, running over to me.
"Where is Noah and Chloe?" I asked, just remembering about them.
"They are both staying with friends for the time being" Replyed Hailey "Chloe said shes going to drop by and visit" She added, looking down at me.
I just smiled.
"So how are you feeling?" Asked Jacob, sitting at the end of my bed.
"Meh, alright i guess" I said "Is mom.. in jail?" I asked.
"Yeah, and shes going to be there for a long time" Came a voice. It was Chloe.
She came over to me and gently hugged me. Then i looked towards the door, and seen Noah standing there staring in at me.
"We both decided, since were all that we got left until mom gets out, we should stick together" Said Chloe, looking at Noah then looking at me.
"Haha, like he even cares about me" I said, looking out the window.
Just then, Noah came into the room, and sat down beside Chloe on my bed.
"I do care about you Brittany.. you just anoy me" He said, looking at me.
I couldn't believe what i was hearing. Noah actually said he cared about me? wow. Thats a change.
I just gave him a fake smile, he smiled back.

Its now been a week since i was in the hospital. Im going back home today. But it's not going to be the same without mom there. Just me Noah and Chloe.
"Hey kiddo" Said Chloe, coming inside my room.
"Hey Chloe, happy birthday" I said, smiling at her.
"Thank you" She said, picking up my bags "Coming?" She asked, walking towards the door.
"Yes" I said, and followed her.
When we finally got outside, we walked over to moms car. Noah was sitting inside of it. Chloe put my bags into the trunk. She got into the drivers side. I just got into the back and shut the door.
"Hey Britt" Said Noah, looking at me through the rear view mirrior.
"Hey Noah" I said, putting on my seatbelt.
"Okay, ready to go?" Asked Chloe.
"Yes, i can't wait to get home man" I replyed, looking out the window.
We drove about half way home. It was about a 20 minute drive, and we were driving for about 10.
"Hey, want to stop for something to eat" Asked Chloe, looking at me through the rear view mirrior.
"Yes, im starving" I said.
We pulled into a mcdonalds drivethrough.
"Bigmac meal please" I said.
"Yeah, me too" Said Noah.
"Alright, ill get the same" Said Chloe.
"Helllo. welcome to mcdonalds drivethrough, what would you like?" Came the speaker.
"I would like 3 big mac meals please" Said Chloe.
"Alright, that would be $8.50 please, drive to the next window" Came the speaker again.
We drove up to the next window, and payed the guy the money, then to the second window to pick up our food. Finally we were back on the road heading home. We finally arrived home, and parked into the driveway. I got out of the car and ran inside the house.
"Speedy much?" Came my sister's voice, when she got inside the house, carrying the mcdonalds.
"Haha, i was dying to be home" I replyed.
"Well here's your mcdonalds" She said. handing it to me.
"Thanks" I replyed.
"No problem" Said Chloe, as she was leaving the living room.
Noah came over and sat beside me on the couch.
"You know, it's been hard without you here" He said, looking at me.
I looked over at him. I can't believe he is being so nice to me. He's never like this.
"Okay.. what do you want?" I asked. sighing.
"No, seriously, it's not that, i missed you being here Britt" He said.
"Aww, well that's sweet Noah" I replyed.

Its been about another week now since i got back home. Noah has been treating me really awesome. So has Chloe. I loved it. But i also missed mom alot, and also dad. I only seen that shadow again once in 2 weeks. And when i seen it we just talked about things on our minds. My friends were over yesturday, and we all just hung out for like the whole day. Oh, and we also got a phone call from the courts, telling us how long mom is going to be in jail for. 15 Fucking years!. I can't see her again untill im 30... now that sucks. Now, me, Noah and Chloe really do have to stick together.
"This really sucks" Said Chloe, holding her head in her hands.
"Yeah, i know" I replyed, sighing and padding Chloe's back.
Noah came over and sat beside me on the couch.
"Me and Noah have been talking" Said Chloe. "Well, this is how its going to be, since im done school now, im going to get a job.. and Noah is going to drop out and work also, and we just want you to stay in school for as long as you can, and in the summer you can get a job" Added Chloe.
"But, Noah can't drop out, hes really smart" I said "let me drop out, not him" I demanded.
"No way Britt, your staying in school" Said Noah "End of discussion" He added, getting up and going into the kitchen.
"Well im going job hunting, ill be back soon" Said Chloe, putting on her coat and grabbing the car keys off the counter.
"Good luck" I said after her, when she closed the door behind her.
Noah came back into the living room and sat on the couch.
"Im going for a shower" I said, getting up and going into the bathroom.
I took my clothes off, and ran the water. I stepped into the tub. I washed my hair with shampoo. I turned around and looked into the mirrior. The figure went into me again.
"Hey" It said.
"Hi, do you have a name?" I asked it.
"Yes, my name is Ryan, Ryan Turk" It replyed.
"So, Ryan, why did you pick me to follow?" I asked it.
"Because, the same thing happened to me.. except i wasn't so lucky" It replyed.
"What do you mean?" I asked it.
"Well.. Same thing happened, except it was my mother cheating on my father, and he shot her and her new boyfriend, and then he shot me" It said.
"Oh, im so sorry" I said "But why you too?" I added.
"Because i was anoying" He said.
"But that is no reason to kill you?" I said.
"Brittney are you almost done!" Shouted Noah.
"Well, ill talk to you later alright?" I said.
Ryan nodded and vanished. I got out and dried off, and got dressed. I came out of the bathroom brushing my hair.
"What did you want?" I asked.
"Chloe is home, and she has a list of jobs" He said.
Chloe sat down on the couch. I walked over and looked over her shoulder.
"Hm.. some of these jobs would be so fun" Said Chloe, giggling.
"That one sounds good for me" Said Noah, pointing at a security job at the local mall.
"Yeah, you should apply, your a good fighter" Said Chloe.
"Ill get to the resume" He said, running upstairs.
"Hm... this one sounds cool" I said, pointing at a waitress job, at swiss chalet.
"Yeah, it does sound cool" She said "and i just might take it" She added, getting up and also running upstairs.
We all had our own computer in our rooms.
I went upstairs and sat at my computer desk. I typed in my msn and password.

I got up off my computer chair and went downstairs and sat on the couch. I turned on the tv and watched supernatural, my favourite show.
"Hey Britt, read this and tell me if it sounds ok" Said Noah, sitting beside me and handing me his resume.
I read it. I found alot of mistakes, but Noah wasn't always the best speller.
"You spelled a couple words wrong" I said, pointing out the mistakes.
"Thanks" He said, taking it out of my hand and running back upstairs.
Just then Chloe came downstairs with hers.
"Hey, read this for me" She said, handing it to me.
I read her also. She was always a good speller, i could find no spelling mistakes whats so ever.
"Looks good" I said, handing it back to her.
"Thanks so much" She said "Well im going to submit it now, ill be back soon" She added, grabbing her car keys and running out the door.
I continued watching my show. And then finally Noah came back downstairs.
"Read it again" He said
I read it, and this time found no errors.
"Looks good" I said, handing it back to him.
"Thank you, where is Chloe?" He asked.
"She already left, so i say u gotta walk" I said, smirking.
"Shit" He said, putting on his coat, and running out the door.
I got up and closed the door behind him, and sat back down on the couch. Just then there was a knock on the door. I got up and answered it. It was Amber, Jensen and Jacob.
"Hey guys" I said, closing the door behind them once they got inside.
"We saw Noah running down the street with a pice of paper in his hand, what was that all about?" Asked Amber, smirking.
"Well Chloe and Noah both went out and are trying to get jobs, that was his resume he was holding" I replyed, sitting on the couch.
"Oh, haha thats funny" Said Jensen, also sitting on the couch.
Jacob came over and sat beside me.
"Hey hun" He said, pecking a kiss on my cheek.
I smiled at him and layed back. He cuddled into me. Just then, Chloe came back in and closed the door behind her.
"Did you submit it?" I asked.
"Yup, and it looks like i might be getting it" She said, smiling.
"That's good" Said Jacob, looking up at her.
"So when are you coming back to school?" Asked Amber.
"She's going back tommorow" Answered Chloe, as she left the room.
