Cat Fight

They ended up telling each other a little about themselves, and by the time they were done, it had been too late to talk about ANYTHING else. Mac was tired and worked into the early morning trying to find out exactly who was killing all these men. After he finally did get to sleep... he had destressing dreams about Tommy being the next one found. Needless to say, he didn't feel very rested after his four hours of sleep. Getting dressed was simply the process of trying to find clothes that didn't smell too bad and throwing them on. Snagging a pop tart, he was about to leave when he realized that he hadn't said good bye.

If it had been Leeza, he wouldn't have bothered... but... Tommy... Tommy was diffrent. Shaking his head at his own thoughts, he opened the door to the other man's room as quietly as possible. It was dark, and there were hlaf-way-unpacked boxes in his path, but he somehow managed to get to the bed without killing himself. The mass of quilt covered body moved around, Tommy's groggy voice asking, "Mac? Mmm... Iz zat you?"

"Yeah," He kept his voice quiet, trying not to wake the other man fully, "I thought I should go into work early today... so I won't see you untill about five, but-" His appologetic explaination was cut off by a sleep warmed hand grabbing the back of his neck and pulling him half ontop of the bed. "Um... Tommy?"

"You don have ta 'ppologize, Mac." Tommy leaned up and pressed kisses on his face, like a cat licking their master in affection. " 'nderstand... You like your job... you go catch da bad guy... 'nd I'll make you lunch..."

Mac chuckled softly, realizing that the other man was bearly even awake. Relaxing half ontop of the bed and the other man, he sighed, "I don't have time to come home for lunch, kitten, sorry." Kitten? Well... it did suit... Oh well, hopefully Tommy was asleep enough not to remember.

" I'mma bring it to you 'den... you 'nd dat partner of yours..." Licking Mac's lips, he sighed and curled back into a ball under the covers. "You go catch 'em bad guys..."

"Alright, kitten. I'll catch some bad guys... just for you." Smiling softly, Mac got up and left, feeling pretty good even though he'd had a shitty night.

---

"Mac, baby?" Mac flinched at the sound of Leeza's purring voice cutting through the raor of noise in the precinct.

"Shi-it." Mac grimaced, covering all the reports he had been reading during his 'lunch' break. Turning in his seat, he sighed when he saw his ex in usual slutty form. Why hadn't he noticed her slutty ways sooner? Maybe someone had dropped him on the head as a child? Who knew.

"Baby, come eat lunch with me." Shesat in his lap. Damn, they were drawing attention.

But before he could tell her off, a slightly southern accented voice cut through the tension. "Mac, hun? Am I late?"

Smiling in relief, Mac practically pushed Leeza off him, waving at Tommy. "Naw, kitten, you're right on time." Damn it! He was screwed now, all the other cops had heard him... aw well, if he was sinking, what harm could a little more quicksand do?

Tommy beamed at him, placing a backpack on the desk (the only place free of paper work). "I promised you lunch, so here it is." This got even more attention, few cops got home made lunches at work. "I'll admit it was a little hurried, but I made-"

"YOU!" Leeza shreiked. "You're the slut from the apartment!"

Tommy raised a brow, cocking his hips and placing his fists on them. "Who are YOU calling a slut?"

Trying to diffuse the situation a little, though it was hard while trying to gaurd the food and NOT drool, Mac said, "Ladies... maybe we could settle this a little more... quietly?"

Leeza cursed him out, but Tommy kissed him on the cheek. "M'kay, hun." He seemed to find the "Ladies" comment funny. "How you propose we do that?"

"Simple. I ask a question, I tell the answer to Lane," He nodded at his partner, "and Cruio," he nodded at the female cop, "and which ever of you two gets it right can stay. Who ever gets it wrong is the REAL slut." Ok, the last part was a little vindictive... but.. he was entitled.

Both agreed. After telling Lane and Curio the answer, and taking all the bets that were being placed, he asked, "What is... my favorite drink?"

"Beer." Was Leeza's confident answer, a sneer on her plastic features.

"Um... " Tommy thought about it. "Cold-freshly-brewed-ice-tea, with lemon and honey. Which your Grandmother used to give you when you went to visit her in the summer."

"Ding, ding, we have a winner." Mac grinned. "Sorry, Leeza, you just don't know me that well."

His ex had to be escorted out, Mac won 500 dollars from his bet on Tommy, and he got to drink his favorite thing from the lunch Tommy had packed him... he'd never worked so well after lunch in his life.
