A Cherished Time
A gentle kiss upon her lips,
the warm glow of her smile,
sensuous moments
tracing her body lines,
a whisper in her ear, knowing
each other always,
expressing it in all you do.
Cards you leave on the table just to say
I love you,
or the flowers that you greet her with
after another hectic day,
a hug
at just the right time
when words can't explain.
Holding hands
walking down the street,
and the laughter that you share,
cuddling
up against you, noticing your stare.
Beneath the cozy blankets, just big enough
for two
or the mess you make in the kitchen
and the smile she gives to you.
The flour
that sits atop her hair while she makes
the sweetest gift, the friendship
that she offers
when others need a lift.
Each one of these a cherished time,
a treasured memory,
not to be shared with any other
just you and her, lover's together,
eternally.
